Trans/Gay/Bi-sexual villians

Having sexual diversity would be cool but I think the more pressing issue is that there's like 2 girls and none of them were really main characters except for 18 for a little bit.

Also just a suggestion but having a gay good guy could be better than a villain since it wouldn't participate in the whole "Gay=Villain" trope that shows up in a bit of older media.

Well the thing is that during the early civil rights era, many media avoided portraying black villains, but now black villains are okay along with white villains - basically it's a farther mark of equality when you can show that any type of person can be a hero or a villain.

I don't think I trust Toriyama (or anyone else) to include a LGBT character that isn't a total caricature.

Besides, the relationships are a far, far secondary element in DB.

Maybe is because I have plenty... and I mean PLENTY of gay/bi friends (half of all my friends actually) that I really wouldn't mind a good gay character in the cast.

Sadly, I don't know if Toriyama or Toeir would be up to the task without making them a caricature.

In any case, Goku and Vegeta's "not-relationship" is also used for laughs, specially in the last movie with the awkward hand holding teleport. Goku sees nothing wrong with that as we all should. Poor Vegeta gets all flustered.

Goku was always the one to pressure him to fuse. Vegeta has always had issues with merging their bodies either with Potara or Dance Fusion. Too much innuendo for him perhaps?

On movie 12 Vegeta was saying "Fusing? With you? Impossible. You expect me to do that? If it means merging together with you... then I choose death!"

He even cried in frustration on having to rely on Kakarot. Goku seems to sadly resign himself saying he realizes Vegeta's saiyan pride is too great to accept that... and that actually does the trick. Vegeta doesn't want Kakarot to pity him and agrees to do the fusion.

Then the explanation of the dance fusion came and that didn't help at all on his opinion about the fusion.

Do you think it's time Toriyama became more progressive and introduce villains such as these. I remember in Rurouni Kenshin one of the members of the Jupen Gatina looked female but was in fact a male who was a cross dresser. Why can't we have something like this in DB ? Similarly, YES we got General Blue but it's been a while since we've gotten a villian whose sexuality been explored. Would be interesting having a main villian in the series who was bi-sexual or gay. What u guys think ?

He should change the way he draws African descended/Black characters first.

Uub is a start, though I always thought that Uub was not African descended. I thought he was an India-analogue like Nam.

I always got the impression Oob was of African Descent. He comes off to me as darker than people like Nam are portrayed, and Toriyama draws Nam with the dot on his head, so I think that might be how he draws all Indian people.

Personally, I think Staff Officer Black's redesign from the Anniversary movie is pretty good. It didn't look particularly bad, tho he looks VERY different lol...

I also noticed a potential pun in his name that might be racist, but I'm not sure... oh wow, if I'm right, this is BAD....

Making Officer Black Native American sort of avoids the problem, but I think he really should have drawn him differently while still making him black. I'd like to think Oob (changed the spelling since everyone is using the "Oo", when in Rome right?) is black, but I don't think so. Mostly because of his hair though. Even though black people can have him like his.

See, I hadn't realized he was supposed to be Native American in that movie, I got the impression they just altered his design to look less blackface, which included lightening his skin tone a bit, but I still thought he was supposed to be of African descent.

But oh wow.... Now that I realized what his name pun is in Japanese, I think they changed him to distance themselves AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE from the potential of blackface....
he doesn't necessarily need a name change, but is in desperate need of a RANK change......

Uub/Oob doesnt look African to me at all. His hair is straight and long like the other characters, not Puffy and Afro-like (Mr. Satan?). I also could swear there was a scene where they shown a flashback of a thirsty guy in his village with a character that looked like Nam in it. Then theres the element of his creation. Reincarnation of Evil Karma into Good Karma? Sounds Hindu to me, and "Majin" could very well be a sanskrit word if it wasnt japanese.
