DBZ IZ the STRONGEST UNIVERSE

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Sure!
Okay, think of the biggest monster you've ever heard of.

No, bigger than that.

Bigger than that.

Even bigger than that!

Okay, got it?

Now whatever you just imagined would be less than a speck of dust to a Swimmer.

These things are named because they 'swim' through the Void outside of reality and universes that get too close to them are described as bursting like tiny foam bubbles on the skin of a whale. Not only that, but in the Void no matter or energy can even exist, yet the Swimmers manage to not only exist there but thrive. There was also a conceptual being that could eat concepts itself (you think you're strong? Oops, the very idea of 'strength' was just eaten), yet the Swimmers regarded that concept-eating being as a light snack for them.

And they're not even the most powerful things in the setting.

And then Elder God Demonbane summons different incarnations of himself from across time starts smashing universes into each other until the chain reaction becomes a damaging sensation, so the Swimmer eats all the robots and... well there really isn't anything left to be stronger than at that point, is there?

Oh, there is? What does he/she/it-for-lack-of-gender-neutral do in their downtime? Something that's not a thinly-veiled satire on humans having the nerve to do anything in light of their tiny existence?

Dragon Ball is about on the edge of where the fantastic is still entertaining without being an exercise in the grand pissing contest of fictional abstract indulgence. At the end of the day, its a lot more entertaining for it.

Well the Swimmers are more of a background threat in the book they're in, instead of trying to fight them directly it's more like 'one of these things is heading towards our universe, we only have a limited amount of time to think of something or we're all dead'

And the answer in the end is to
. Pretty good book actually.

Are we still talking about Doctor Who? I admit I lost track in the recent verbal rampage.

Are you sure about that? Are you one of the people who supports Death Battle constantly letting DBZ lose?

Well that is a loaded and unrelated question.

Hard to tell, if he's being serious or playing along with the joke.
