What's "EoZ" exactly? xD
Not stupid. I was a little lost the first time I came here and read that. "End of Z". The part with Goku meeting Uub and leaving. That's what is referred to EoZ around here.

All the new movies so far have been "pre-EoZ", while GT is placed "Post-EoZ". If Super starts right after Goku goes to train with Uub, this will be the very first Toriyama backed story post-EoZ.
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

The image of Gohan could be end of DBZ Gohan, but he could have changed his look after ROF. I hope we are still pretty close to having new info soon. I think Toei is most likely want to build up a major surprise to everyone before the show airs. I'm still a bit worry that America will have to wait another year to watch the show.

Making international audiences wait lowers revenue. They should at least try for a simulcast a la One Piece.

We didn't get any streaming for the new episodes of Kai which worries me. I wonder if Toei wants to have a TV deal plan out for early 2016 on Toonami? Anime fan subbers won't touch Super if it's going to be licensed. Fan subbers avoid things are licensed to avoid getting sued and shut down. That's why fan subbers like Over-Time chose not to sub Garo: The Animation because of Funimation having the rights to the show. Even GUIS and TV-Nihon took down their subs for Zyuranger because of Shout! Factory's DVD release of the show.

FUNimation will surely pursue a simulcast. I understand why they never bothered with Kai, but seeing as this is entirely new content, I'd be shocked if they dropped the ball here.

I have faith in Funi with this, it's Toei I'm worried about. Like what if they make weird demands or something.

IF they can do it for One Piece they can do it for Dragonball, as Dragonball is still 10x more popular then One Piece in the states. The only reason they wouldn't is because they want to sell it themeselves, and fear that showing the simulcast, would hurt there profits.

I hope the series looks more like the JSAT special than these new movies, but I'm almost sure that's not going to happen, unfortunately.

this is what I'm hoping. Season one is pre-EOZ, then season 2 goes post EOZ.

I don't think it would work like that (not that I wouldn't like it).

Main problem here is that Bulma says they haven't seen Goku in a long time (5 years) because he has been "busy" training. Now, the exact time in years could be rectoned but the fact that they hadn't seen each other for quite a while now would throw a wrench to a new series set right before EoZ.

My two best options were:
Set right after FoF. If this is a thing, then we need Bra to show up (or pop out). Pregnant Bulma can be a huge source of comedy... We can pretty much assume Vegeta wasn't at all involved during Trunk's pregnancy... but now I guess it would be completely different. I mean, this time around Vegeta actually CARES about his wife.

JUST LOOK AT THIS.
My second option would be right after EoZ so they can have Uub, Pan and Bra, and perhaps a new extra boy for the kids.

doesn't ROF take place 5 years after buu's defeat? if the whole 5 years of training for goku and the whole he didn't contact anyone thing holds water, then that 5 years of training gap could be Goku training his super saiyan god powers. senses Uub and makes a reappearance.

ROF takes place 5 years after Buu and 5 years before the 28th Tenkachi Budokai. Goku most likely kept on training after Freeza was killed off. I do think EOZ is still possible since there's not much that they can do with a small amount of time left. I don't think GT being set after DBZ is a big issue since it seems like GT is just view as a alternate timeline now given how BOG and ROF have things from it fitting from the timeline. Not to mention GT was a long time ago and I doubt kids in Japan (the main target audience) these days seen GT or know about GT since it aired ages before they where born unless they play Heroes or Xenoverse. So it doesn't really matter if Super ignores GT if you ask me.

I don't know if I understand you correctly. This is how its been so far:

AGE 774 - Defeat Buu
AGE 776 - TV Special with Tarble
AGE 778 - BoG
AGE 779? - RoF
AGE 784 - Official year for EoZ

well I'm not really sure what you mean but I'm talking about the time between AGE779?-AGE 784. since Bulma says Goku went missing training during this time and never called, iirc even Krillin makes a point about how goku didn't call them. there really isn't a whole lot of time for Pre EOZ to work well. since Its either all goku or no goku.

What i took from that was that he was at "home" training. Not away or missing.

Some talk about Gohan "studying" but given his position, standing with the book and looking forward, it seems to me that he's rather teaching students in a classroom.
It may be because I've recently watch the Boo saga in Kai seeing all those teachers, but it seems he has the exact posture of DB teachers during class.

-About ending storyboard-
Yuo, that really seems EOZ Gohan. I hate this teasing. I just want to know where Super takes place, nothing more.
Anyway, rooting for Post-EOZ until the end!
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

There is room for speculations on both sides for now:
- POST-E.O.Z: Gohan looks more like what we'd see in the epilogue and beyond.
- PRE-E.O.Z: The third character to appear would be Goku again, already? Unlikely, it could rather be GOTEN, holding what seems to be something you pick on the fields to tickle other kids for example. And in that case, he still has Goku's haircut, which places it before the epilogue.

Anything can happen: changes of look ahead of what we thought, changes of haircut back and forth, etc...
So, we still don't have much of a clue right now!
