Fusion Reborn on Toonami?
I have never seen any video evidence of Fusion Reborn ever airing on Toonami and sadly I never watched DBZ enough at the time it aired to really care to watch it. Certain wiki sites say that the movie aired in November of 2006, but the only videos I've ever seen of it were fan made promos like this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Pb_iq3CQ40 (You can tell it's fan made if only because of the logo at the end which is found in the Double Features released after the supposed air date.)
Can anybody who saw this or even any promos at the time confirm this?

I never saw any promos for Fusion Reborn on Toonami. But I know for a fact that it aired on Toonami. I just forget when it aired.

Re: Fusion Reborn on Toonami?
I watched it live. If you're asking if it actually happened, that is. If so, yes. Schemmel's Goku calls Hell "Hell" and not "HFIL", which seemed remarkable in 2006. I wonder if there's a censored version where he does say that.
Although, like in that other thread where Rachel points this out, it may not have been branded as Toonami, but instead just a "Cartoon Network showing" on a Saturday night.

Both DBZ Movie 12 and 13 aired on Toonami in 2006. I was surprise that they both aired them seeing that CN pretty much skip over DBZ Movies 7 - 11.

I don't really remember it but I'm sure I watched it
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Re: Fusion Reborn on Toonami?
I to remember when Fusion Reborn aired on Toonami. I was heavily into Naruto at that point so watching DBZ movies that should've aired years before wasn't really of interest to me. I'm pretty sure I remember a few promos for it but I didn't really pay them much attention.
Re: Fusion Reborn on Toonami?
Yeah I watched it was well and it was definitely uncut. That part when Goku's shoulder gets cut and a lot of blood gushes out was unaltered.B wrote:I watched it live. Re: Fusion Reborn on Toonami?
Fusion Reborn was edited on Toonami from what I can remember since I remember they edited out some of the blood and took out the scenes of Hitler (obvious reasons of course). Toonami from 1997 - 2008 was still a action block for kids, so they still had to edit down the violence. I even remember Naruto still had it's violence tone down on Toonami from 2005 - 2008.

Didn't watch but passed it by when it was on. Don't know if it was due to content, or due to time as it was shown in an hour block, but heard the Dictator scenes were taken out.

Re: Fusion Reborn on Toonami?
I have the original .flv files from NickToons and the only difference in the edited TV version is that they cut out all of the scenes with Hitler in them. Mr. Satan is still called Mr. Satan and I do recall Vegeta saying "Hell" at some point.
Re: Fusion Reborn on Toonami?
Yeah that was definitely faked, the Toonami picture was stretched while Fusion Reborn was just cropped.
Re: Fusion Reborn on Toonami?
I can confirm this because I remember seeing movies 12 and 13 back to back on Toonami. I forgot when it was, but according to the people here it was in 2006. Not sure if it was censored or not though.

Re: Fusion Reborn on Toonami?
It was censored from what I can remember. I already seen both Movie 12 and 13 fan subbed three years before they came out in the US. They edited out some of the swearing, some of the blood and the scenes of Hitler in Movie 12 when I first saw both of them on Toonami. Fusion Reborn aired in November 2006, I'm surprise people have a hard time remembering from 2006. It makes me feel old
.
Heck there's a even thread from 2006 on this forum talking about the Toonami airing: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtop ... f=7&t=4398

Also, this blog by Sanjo-chan makes note of the profanity and the TV-PG rating present on the Cartoon Network airing of Fusion Reborn.

Was the hate for Kai largely unjustified?
Super Saiyan Prime wrote:It's an edited, cynically produced, cheap recut with a poorly utilized ancient score and awful scene recreations that later got traded in for a weird green tint.
The story of Kai's production is far more interesting than the actual product.
