Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I'm pretty sure reviving is different than relocating in DBZ. When someone is revived, their souls are reunited with their physical bodies, which is where they wake up (there was an exception for Krillin). Relocation involves transporting that physical body from place to place.UpFromTheSkies wrote: I think Porunga was just obliging Goku's request not to be relocated, but could have relocated him if he wanted to. Reviving someone from the dead is pretty much the same as relocating them, and since people have been surprised after being revived, the dragons obviously don't need their permission.
Something tells me the dragons would not be able to relocate someone against their will if they are stronger than Kami.
Hmmm... I suppose they could have tried even if Shenron couldn't grant it. xDUpFromTheSkies wrote: Didn't Gero have a device to deactivate them, and Bulma made one to set off their internal bomb? I see no reason Shenlon couldn't make a similar device.
But it's basically the same as asking the dragon for a device to kill an organic being since he's creating it through magic and not science. I highly doubt Shenron would be able to do that.
I just made a topic about this. lol.Vegeta and Goku would have insisted on fighting Buu, but Kaioshin could have easily gathered the dragon balls and relocated the egg, or Kibito could have teleported to the egg and relocated it himself, at the risk of being attacked during the brief moment he would have appeared in Babidi's ship.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Logo looks okay
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Also tried to do a logo :p

Yeah, I was mainly talking about the recent movies since a lot of things were left unexplained.Doctor. wrote:Contrary to popular belief (for.. some reason), I don't really think Toriyama's work even has that many plot holes, like 2 or 3 sure, but that's to be expected with a 520 chapter manga, various other works have more. It does have a lot of contradictions and inconsistencies, though.

I'm pretty sure Kibito is stronger than Kami and kept his body after getting killed by Dabura, but was still surprised when he was revivedfadeddreams5 wrote:I'm pretty sure reviving is different than relocating in DBZ. It'd be nice if this is the Tuesday we get the next info update, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it. T_T
I wonder what's going on behind the scenes right now; the lack of marketing has me so curious about what actually lead to Super in the first place.

I'm not surprised by the lack of marketing, their target audience is already watching a Dragon Ball show in the time slot that Super will take, so there's no need to draw their attention to it. IIRC, there wasn't much promotion for GT either, probably for the same reason.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
The problem with that theory is an almost concentrated effort to not reveal anything. Heck, there might very well not even be anything that can be revealed.UpFromTheSkies wrote:I'm not surprised by the lack of marketing, their target audience is already watching a Dragon Ball show in the time slot that Super will take, so there's no need to draw their attention to it. They could absolutely show character art if they wanted, but they aren't so that means they likely just want to keep everything quiet.JulieYBM wrote:The problem with that theory is an almost concentrated effort to not reveal anything. Kanzenshuu has received a slight facelift for Dragon Ball Super. We even have an Episode Guide page up, although this page lacks sub-sections for story arcs.
Kanzenshuu is now calling this the 'Revival Broadcast' era, as opposed to the 'Refreshed Broadcast' for Dragon Ball Kai.

At first I didn't see what was different, but then I clicked the guides button and now I see. Pretty cool.JulieYBM wrote:Kanzenshuu has received a slight facelift for Dragon Ball Super. If people are complaining about the logo, i can only wonder whats going to happen when the show is released. Yeah the logo doesn't look great, but its the show that matters.

There's literally nothing else to talk about. There's a billion other threads where people are sharing their pipe dreams/hopes.ssjjanemba wrote:If people are complaining about the logo, i can only wonder whats going to happen when the show is released. The only possible way to gauge discussion out of what we have would be to watch a show Kimitoshi Chioka has worked on and guess how he'll approach Super. Same with Sumitomo's score.

It would be created through magic, but it would be a "scientific" device, just like if you wish for a television, or a motorbike.fadeddreams5 wrote:Hmmm... Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Turns out I had some screen captures from Disk Wars: Avengers Episode #19 lying around. Chioka Kimitoshi storyboarded this episode for Episode Director Hiroshima Hideki. With any luck we'll be seeing some really cool cuts like this:

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
That'd be really nice. I recently rewatched one of the HCPC eps he did, I enjoyed that too.
On hiatus.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Shimanuki Masahiro is the animation supervisor of One Piece Episode #697 for Episode Director Hosoda Masahiro. I guess Shimanuki didn't jump ship to become a regular animation supervisor for Dragon Ball Super, after all. Also, Nagamine Tatsuya is the episode director of Episode #698. With any luck he'll come to Dragon Ball Super for at least one episode.
His greatest strength is working with dialogue scenes, I think. His variety of framing and pacing of dialogue really keeps scenes fun to watch.Chuquita wrote:That'd be really nice. I recently rewatched one of the HCPC eps he did, I enjoyed that too.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
That actually looks good! hoping we see something close to that on DBS.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I've probably mentioned this before, but World Trigger Episode #23 is Chioka unfiltered. Chioka serves as both episode director and storyboard artist, which means he sees his storyboard through to the end to ensure it looks as he pleases. With any luck this is how good his episodes of Dragon Ball Super will look.
