They'll complain about every part small or big from beginning to end.

In terms of the animation, they'll complain about stuff that's only noticeable when you stop the video and take a magnifying glass to the screen.

In terms of the story, every plot point regarding Goku&Vegeta will have Gohan fans saying it should be about Gohan instead and everyone else will say the story and characters are bad and Toriyama&Toie shouldn't be releasing anything new.

The franchise would be dead if it had to relay on this site's members for profit,I'm not saying everyone here hates the new stories but if the new movie's topic is anything to go by then it's pretty close.

Thank god everyone else is happy to see the series getting new products.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Disliking Resurrection 'F' is not the same as disliking every new Dragon Ball material. The only person I've seen on the forum who actually dislikes all new Dragon Ball material is Rocketman and he has pretty valid reasons to do so. You're entitled to have your positive opinion regarding new material just as anyone else is entitled to have a positive or negative opinion about any new material.

With any luck this is how good his episodes of Dragon Ball Super will look.
This episode looks like a joy to view. I think I'm gonna be very happy with his work on Super.

Rocketman valid reasons are as valid as the existence of aliens. Opinions are opinions but asserting your opinion are different than voicing them.

Whether the show is great or not, you better expect A LOT of complaining. It's very, very common when old shows obtain sequels or are rebooted. I mean, jeez, look at all the hate Kai gets on Youtube even though it's the SAME ****ing show.

That said, I'm keeping my expectations incredibly low for Super since I haven't been a fan of any of the new stuff. If it surprises me, great. If not, oh well.

I already went though my mourning(?) over the loss of ssjg Gokû he was too cute to live, apparently I think I can handle whatever Super throws at me. I'm still crazy excited for Super. Been so envious of Precure battle scenes, finally getting some cool stuff for DB is gonna be nice. Also Gokû and Vegeta shenanigans entertain me so well. :3

First off, it's YouTube. Let's not disparage other communities... but... it's YouTube.

That being said, it's totally understandable. It's not the same show. It's edited completely differently; there are valid comments to make about its pacing. It has two soundtracks; there are valid comments to make about consistency and placement. It's been totally redubbed in every language; there are valid comments to make about casting and scripting.

To dismiss any of this is to be a non-critical viewer... which is absolutely fine, until you want to enter a conversation where other people DO want to discuss things with a critical eye (and ear). If you're not on the same page, don't engage.

In essence, it's still DBZ though. The same exact story with a refined script. I get the differences in dialogue, VAs, cuts, and so on, but I see people flat out hating it, yet loving DBZ, and that to me... is quite perplexing.

The biggest and most understandable criticism I notice is the soundtrack, honestly. Dub fans craving Faulconer; sub fans disappointed in Sumitomo's low budget work, and poor placement of Kikuchi's OST. Not to mention the Yamamoto scandal. That department has been an utter mess in that series. Really hope Sumitomo gets to shine with Super.

Wait people are still whining about the VA/music changes with Kai? Its long away and buried, the final nail in the coffin was struck years ago.

You can still dislike something, or an aspect of something, that is no longer new.

thats pretty obvious, I'm not a fan of Clinkenbeard's Gohan/Goku voice for them but I'm not going rant about it like some might do years after the fact.

I may have misinterpreted your previous post then. It's just that what you were responding to was basically just talking about people disliking Kai, and you seemed to take issue with that.

My tablet's driver failed like 3 minutes into editing, so I just did some basics and didn't bother with trying to make it pretty. Colors could be tweaked and it could be jazzed up with some gradients, highlights, or whatever, but it works well enough as a concept.
Sent them this one. I approve this too.

That's a pretty damn good logo.

Has there been any outcry from Japanese fans about this bland logo?

I also agree that this should indicate how much effort might go into Super. Kai's logo was better. But then again, Kai's logo had more effort put into it than Kai.

Why would there be? It's just a damn logo. It's inconsequential for the quality for the show as a whole. If this is how we react to a logo, God help Toriyama if the first episode of Dragon Ball Super isn't seen as the greatest thing since sliced bread to fans.

Okay? What does have to do with Japanese fans' thoughts about a logo.

One person makes an asinine link between the quality of a show and its logo and suddenly anyone curious is lobbed into that.

Please.

Exactly!

I can't stand how these days on the internet, if anyone is displeased with any aspect of anything and states their criticism, that, no matter how legitimate their complaints may be, there are people who label them haters, call them "entitled" (way to misuse that term), and act as though everyone has to like everything, and any criticism, no matter how legitimate, is whiny nitpicking.

In this case, there are plenty of people (me included), who thinks it's a poor logo. Now you have people saying that anyone complaining about it are just "haters who hate everything for the sake of it!"... Uh... no? I think it's a lousy logo. I'm still cautiously optimistic for Super. I thought Battle of Gods was pretty good, but I thought Minus was terrible. I'm not a "blind, entitled hater". If I don't like something, I have a good reason for it. If I think something could, or should be better, then there's nothing wrong or "entitled" about that.

Plus, the logo's the only thing that's been solidly revealed so far. What else does anyone expect everyone to be discussing?

"90% of you here don't even know what you're talking about (there are a few that do). But the things you say about these releases are nonsense and just plain dumb. Like you Metalwario64"--final_flash

You guys looked way too deeply into my comment. I just questioned by there would be outcry over something so minor as a logo. If there is fan outcry over the logo in Japan, then so be it. But it will mystify me, regardless. Considering the logo will most likely be the last thing that will be judged about any TV show by the end of its run.
