In the manga, Goku was shown to be on the water too long in the red ribbon arc and really needing to come up for air or he would drown.KentalSSJ6 wrote:
I think you mean Goku with being underwater too long, and that actually never happens in the manga.

Re: Saiyans Living Through an Exploding Planet (RoF Spoilers
Let's get some things straightened out
1.Vegeta doesn't die from the planet exploding that was never stated at all
2.It was mentioned by Whis that Freeza survived becauase Freeza can survive in space with no air
3.Was it ever confirmed Vegeta actually died? The way I heard is that the movie doesn't even show you Freeza's body let alone Vegeta's just a comment on Whis saying Freeza still survived.
Which is weird seeing a regular human can survive 15 seconds on space before passing out.
Maybe Vegeta had a slow death and Whis didn't intervene as a lesson to Goku and reversed time.
But back to the question on hand if Earth was located in other world and it blew up with vegeta on it he wouldn't die since there's air all around him.
Freeza just did what he failed to do on Namek.
He was banking on the lack of air to kill the saiyans
Like someone said anyone stronger than a cut in half Freeza can survive a planet exploding it's just the vacuum of space that presents a problem

Re: Saiyans Living Through an Exploding Planet (RoF Spoilers
Any Saiyan character stronger than 100% Final Form Freeza would most likely be able to survive a planet exploding but then would die due to lack of air.

The Bardock storyline does not suggest he was in space though. That can only be an assumption. From the way it is drawn it is highly likely that Bardock is in high altitude above Planet Vegeta. I would also assume a planet with 10 times Earth's gravity could have a larger atmosphere too.shonenhikada wrote:Bardock storyline says otherwise.KentalSSJ6 wrote:Saiyans cant breathe in space.

Toriyama plays fast and loose with space asphyxiation. Goku went to the moon, if you recall.
And holy shit, that just reminded me that Jackie Chun accidentally killed the Rabbit gang.

Well folks there is your answer,if freeza survived then I'm sure vegeta survived then suffocated to death like a pro.

According to Toriyama in the Adventure Special, they just drift through Space, after the moon was turned into smithereens.Dayspring wrote:And holy shit, that just reminded me that Jackie Chun accidentally killed the Rabbit gang.

They didn't die, they were drifting in space at most up until the Piccolo Daimao arc, according to the Dragon Ball: Adventure Special guidebook.Dayspring wrote:And holy shit, that just reminded me that Jackie Chun accidentally killed the Rabbit gang.

Would they not, I don't know, starve in the vastness of space? I recall them planting carrots on the moon to eat. With their food source gone they would die out there of dehydration and starvation.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:They didn't die, they were drifting in space at most up until the Piccolo Daimao arc, according to the Dragon Ball: Adventure Special guidebook.Dayspring wrote:And holy shit, that just reminded me that Jackie Chun accidentally killed the Rabbit gang.

Shouldn't this be the 3rd question you should ask?Hitiro wrote:Would they not, I don't know, starve in the vastness of space? I recall them planting carrots on the moon to eat. With their food source gone they would die out there of dehydration and starvation.

I know it's a gag scene which is why I don't treat it as an integral part of this discussion. But saying they survived the Kamehameha and are in space sounds a whole lot worse than surviving the Kamehameha in my opinion, lol.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Shouldn't this be the 3rd question you should ask?Hitiro wrote:Would they not, I don't know, starve in the vastness of space? And how did they survive Kame-sennin's Max Power Kamehameha? The whole situation obviously involves gag-logic.

That's pretty frightening to even think about.

Re: Saiyans Living Through an Exploding Planet (RoF Spoilers
Goku was hurt by a blast from Freeza's random henchmen, plus even if Vegeta didn't die he should have been able to fly to the moon or something given how fast they are. My guess is while the blast did not kill them, it DID knock them out thus allowing Vegeta to suffocate. Even then planet busting IS still a threat to them, albeit a small one. I don't think they can just eat Earth shattering attacks like that all day, they do make an effort to reflect and dodge or prevent attacks of that power. I don't think DBZ is quite as powerful as we made them out to be in the past, hell Goku, Freeza, and Vegeta didn't even relocate their battle from when they first met each other in the movie.

So you conveniently left out the part where Goku let his power level heavily drop?Tohru Adachi wrote:Goku was hurt by a blast from Freeza's random henchmen,
This would help because...plus even if Vegeta didn't die he should have been able to fly to the moon or something given how fast they are.

There is no air on the moon for Vegeta to breathe
Okay why would the blast knock Vegeta out when he already tanked stronger attacks from Freeza? My guess is while the blast did not kill them, it DID knock them out thus allowing Vegeta to suffocate. There seems to be some lack of understanding with most people in the DB community regarding ki blasts and planet destroying power.
Anyone stronger than Saiyan Saga Vegeta can destroy the planet with a ki blast
It doesn't matter if the ki blasts are small and they fire them to the earth and it doesn't explode those attacks are heavily condensed and are very potent.
An example would be Beerus vs Goku in the underground cave when he was spamming his ki blasts yet the earth was still there would that make Beerus weaker than kidd buu who can launch a small blast and casually destroy the earth? No
Beerus tiny ki blasts would atomize buu even though they don't destroy the planet becuase of the potency behind Beerus attack so it doesn't matter if the characters don't say "he's going to destroy the planet with that attack"
Heck Goku KHH's in Fukkatsu No F prove this multiple time

Vegeta proply could survive in space, but he just had his guard down like Goku did with Sorbet I guess.
Re: Saiyans Living Through an Exploding Planet (RoF Spoilers
It probably wouldn't have mattered even if he did have his guard up. A planetary explosion would still throw him pretty far out into space. By the time they would have gotten to him I doubt they would have been able to save him.Friezacooler wrote:Vegeta proply could survive in space, but he just had his guard down like Goku did with Sorbet I guess.

Re: Saiyans Living Through an Exploding Planet (RoF Spoilers
I am sure that wouldn't have an affect on him and tank it standing same position. as he kicked, tanked, or punched away ki blast that proply had greater force then a planet explosion.
Re: Saiyans Living Through an Exploding Planet (RoF Spoilers
Kiai's throw characters far and those really have no battle power ceiling as far as we've seen. Tenshinhan was literally pushing Semi-Perfect Cell with them despite the huge power difference. So yeah. There is nothing saying that a planetary explosion wouldn't throw them.Friezacooler wrote:I am sure that wouldn't have an affect on him and tank it standing same position. as he kicked, tanked, or punched away ki blast that probably had greater force then a planet explosion.
