Oh, man the hype begins. I hope animation will be good, but holy shit, the fact that this is a new Dragon Ball series still hasn't sunk in yet. I can't wait for the trailer!!FatNagger69 wrote:Kanzenshuu just updated with their own translation.
The first on-air trailer for “Dragon Ball Super” will be broadcast with “Dragon Ball Kai” the day after tomorrow, June 14th (Sunday)!! It will also be worth checking out the climax of “Kai”! And then, the official home page will receive a power up this coming Monday. The anxiously awaited main visual will also be released! (S)

Don't get too excited, guys, it could just be the logo with text and voice overs, and a shot of Shenlon and the dragon balls. Remember the very first teasers for BoG and RoF.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I'm not expecting much - I'd imagine all we'll see is a couple of short snippets footage from the OP and/or first episode with a voice-over - 15-30 seconds or so at the max, probably just showing Goku but perhaps also some other characters if we're lucky. I'm just excited at seeing something tangible from the series, no matter how small.UpFromTheSkies wrote:Don't get too excited, guys, it could just be the logo with text and voice overs, and a shot of Shenlon and the dragon balls. Plus, I should point out those teasers were for standalone movies that were still in production and quite a way off from being released, whereas this will be a teaser for an ongoing series that'll be only a few weeks away from its premiere date. I'd imagine what we see should be something which appears in the actual series rather than specially created 'teaser' footage, even if it's only from the OP animation.
Still, even if they really don't show much, the "main visual" going up on the official website on Monday should hopefully give us an idea of how at least some of the characters are looking - even if it's just Goku, it's all stuff that could help with pinning down the potential timeframe for the series.
Plus, if nothing else, remember that Toyotarō's manga adaptation should be starting in the next couple of weeks, so we should start getting some solid information when that's out in the wild if not before.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Or if Toei goes full Toei on this trailer, they might spoil the whole story for Super, but considering they don't have much to show, it'll probably just be most of the first episode.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
What's a main visual ? the arc's poster ? series background ?
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Usually a splash image featuring the logo and main characters.sintzu wrote:What's a main visual ? the arc's poster ? series background ?

In that case we should have a pretty good idea about the arc's timeline and main characters.Chuquita wrote:Usually a splash image featuring the logo and main characters.sintzu wrote:What's a main visual ? the arc's poster ? series background ?
If we're lucky we'll get to see who the main villain is as well.

"The anxiously awaited main visual will be released!"
Even Toei can acknowledge how desperate we've all been for new info. Don't get me wrong, I love key visuals. I expect to learn more from the key visual than the trailer. But "Hey, here's that picture you all wanted!" is just too funny to me. Very excited about the website update, too. The staff/cast list is coming!
And so, for the first time in a long time, the fanbase anxiously awaits the next episode of Kai.

I'm actually just looking forward to see how good the animation will be, the style and the details.

Actually, if you in North America Kai airs on Saturday. Considering I'm on the east coast, the trailer should be dropping around 8:00-8:30 PM tomorrow!soulnova wrote:*SnippitySnipSnip*

I'm betting it's going to be at the end of the episode (so to make everyone watch all of Kai just in case it appears earlier). I guess I'm watching all of tomorrow's Kai episode then. No, it's just that Toei loves spoiling details about their own series: episode titles (check the DBZ episode titles), previews, and, more recently, the RF trailers and commercials (Golden Freeza and SSGSS Goku).chizzielamer wrote:you must know something we don't.....EA575 wrote:Or if Toei goes full Toei on this trailer, they might spoil the whole story for Super, but considering they don't have much to show, it'll probably just be most of the first episode.

To be fair, I thought they kept SSGSS pretty well under wraps especially in the case of Vegeta. And didn't the trailer show casing the new form come after the film?

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Maybe it's just because I got into DBZ at a time when you could easily read all about GT's ending online, but spoilers in regards to this series have just never really been a huge deal for me. It just is what it is. So at least for me, this trailer can show as much off as it wants to and I'll be fine...though really, all I'm asking from it is that it gives us some kind of a hint as to the timeframe of the series. Still really hoping for it to be fully post-manga, but also pretty much expecting it to be just sometime after Resurrection 'F'.

I get off at 4:30 on Saturday. Huh.
Anyway, Eguchi Hisashi is a main animation for Digimon Adventure tri. so don't expect to see him work on Dragon Ball Super.

I'm in Cancun, Mexico, but we are also in the East Coast time!! You are right. D: I actually knew all of what would happen in DBZ by the time it aired. I had a magazine with the whole synopsis. It was like consulting an oracle. Even now with the movies I spoiled myself before watching them.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Maybe it's just because I got into DBZ at a time when you could easily read all about GT's ending online, but spoilers in regards to this series have just never really been a huge deal for me. This is the first time since the original run of Dragon Ball that I won't know whats going to happen.
