How is it a 'small design difference' when it's the only design difference?
Because it's minor and subtle. I don't see how being the only difference or not is relevant when the author has been shown to dismiss subtle differences like that (just like it's the case with Gohan's SSJ1 and SSJ2 hair). Your argument requires faith on a certain level of Toriyama's consistency that simply almost surely doesn't exist.

That's really cool. But like you said, it was to be expected.

Anyone here on Kanzenshuu gonna go to Anime Expo to watch the movie?

Combine that with the fact that that he wasn't even meant to be mystic in that movie. I'll be honest, I never noticed the eye thing until I joined this forum and someone specifically pointed it out. Imagine an author who hasn't read his work in like 20 years, and is forgetful to begin with. The eye thing means absolutely nothing in modern work.

That said, it did mean something when the manga was created. The change in design, as subtle as it is, represented his new-found power; it was the only change created for that power-up. From the time he turned mystic to EoZ, he possessed this, indicating he maintained that form. I don't think Toriyama has alzheimer's to forget he added something a few chapters back. :?

Is there any way to watch a sub of this online? Or watch any version online? I can't really justify driving 7 hours to watch FnF, as much as I love Dragon Ball

Where did I ask to watch it for free? I can watch Dragon Ball and DBZ online legally. A lot of people seem to have seen the movie so I figured that there must be a way to watch it in Japanese.

I doubt anyone would remember but I went to Japan in May and I went to the Fuji TV Headquarters and at the top they had a little Dragon Ball Z thing going on and this was there. I'm not sure if this old news though.

Or you can wait for the limited release or wait for the home video release. It's call supporting the official release. If you want something then buy it to show support to the company. Don't be lazy and watch it the legit way. Money can be tight for a lot of people, but if you save up then it can be worth it.

A lot of people who watch it illegally for free will buy the official products, and a lot of people who watch it illegally for free wouldn't buy the official product either way. There's already been studies that showed that people who "pirate" more also tend to buy more official products than average.

Anyway, my point is that people watching it illegally doesn't mean that they won't support the official products. And yes, do support what you care about if you can.

That's really cool. Reminds me of the animatronics in Disney World.

I always wanted an interactive DBZ ride. D:

I just saw it in 4DX dubbed unfortunately xD
but It was so fun, I enjoyed it

Thoughts about the movie itself:
I felt the part with the Z warriors fighting was a bit too long... how many soldiers were they fighting again? in the movie it said it was 1000 as I remember, but it felt like it were more since when they took down a big group there were more waiting for each character like three times each...

Jaco was awesome, with his tactics to take down the soldiers

Beerus parts were cuuute how I wish I could watch it in japanese the part when he first appears and throws the ki blast to Goku and company and then he ask Goku and Vegeta what are they doing there.... :( ... but anyways...

Beerus being upset that they are in their planet was cool  and him describing Whis flaws for letting Goku and Vegeta find the planet was also fun

Oh! and Beerus does get to sleep a bit while being climbed of a tree with his tail :D :D :D

The animation was another plus, it really is pretty with the colors and all.

And I thought the CGI would distract a lot but it didnt fortunately

The reaction of everyone when Bulma yelled at Whis for not answering sooner was funny :P (I want to see it again >_<)

Gohan's death was longer than what I thought :o

Well, I watched the movie in my country premiere today and I would like to share some thoughts, feel free to agree or disagree:

- Original Hell: Okay, nice to know what should be the real Hell concept made by Toriyama, but damn that was silly and lame, just like Dabura when he was sent to Heaven in that Boo Arc filler

- Freeza's Resurrection: It was kinda "okay" I guess the way they (Sorbet and Tagoma) brought Freeza back, but to his Mecha Form he was brought back to his 1st Form? Yeah okay

- Freeza's Training: A shame that they couldn't show how Freeza trained, I don't care if it was 4 months or 1 year, I'm kinda accepted that Freeza is indeed a prodigy that never trained and if he trained he could surpass everyone, but man... That was the huge ASSPULL ever made in the series, why to be totally off-screen?

- Fights: I liked most of the fights presented in the movie they showed a lot of mixed martial arts instead of beam struggle and all that thing that we were used to when watching DBZ... But I feel that the fights were way "too real" I mean... The Earth could not resist a fight between SSJ3 Goku, SSJ2 Vegeta and Kid Boo... But the Earth in this movie could it resist a fight between SSJGSSJ Goku, Vegeta and Golden Freeza that in matter of power levels are beyond a SSJ3 Vegetto? I mean a little energy blast from both of them could destroy the whole planet... Well, that's DB physics

- Yamcha's absence: A bad point for the movie, it contraditcs what Roshi said in DB-end that he was going to retire and let things to the "new generation" (Yamcha included) so Yamcha could had his place in this movie perfectly, Toriyama totally destroyed his not really good reputation chosing Roshi instead of him

- Gohan: I don't know even how I begin to talk about it, how could be the Saiyan hybrid warrior who defeated Cell and was once the strongest in the universe before Battle Of Gods be at a such low power level? It really drives me crazy that RoF is 9 months after the last movie, the movie that Gohan had still his "Ultimate" form and just 9 months later he loses everything... The scene were he was OHKO by First Form Freeza was dreadful for a character like him, he could even fight Freeza
a little more in SSJ ou maybe SSJ2 form

- Goku: Why so cocky? I don't get it really... Was Goku ever so cocky like that in the actual series or in the manga? I don't remember

- Vegeta: It didn't share the same protagonism that Goku had in the movie that a lot of fans were expecting for, his fight with Freeza was lame, just 4 minutes with a injured foe... He could gave the senzu to Freeza and had a better fight to prove to himself and Goku that he could be better than him, a lot of missed oportunities

- Beerus: Damn, he was so boring in this movie... Always talking so mighty and always talking about food, really annoying

- Whis: A little annoying like Beerus with all that food talk, but I like he training Goku and Vegeta and gave them some useful advices, hated he being the Deus Ex-Machina

- Freeza and his ultimate defeat: The star of the movie, the main plot element... I like the way how even after trained a lot he was no match for Goku and when both transform (Golden, SSJGSSJ) it turned out to be a more balanced fight but Goku had still a slight advantage since he knew about Freeza's weakness... And about his weakness I thought it was a really good point it reminds of SSJ3 problems that Goku had back then, but his defeat and his post credits scene was pretty lame, I mean he could survived and improve his Golden Form, recreate his army and fight with the Z Warriors later... Maybe on SUPER

- THE END: Just like I said above it was lame and Freeza was brought back for nothing... I mean why not enjoy a little more his ressurection? The movie could pretty much end with Freeza blowing up himself and everyone in the planet... Just saving Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Tien, Krillin and etc. That would be a great PLOT TWIST, Freeza would still be alive, he wracked everyone on Earth, the movie ends with a question: "How they will restore everything?" and then is where SUPER begins! But nah... Why not kill Freeza again and everyone lived happy after like always... Damn, Toriyama :(

Just came back from the cinema, my thoughts:

The movie is very enjoyable but it felt too short which is funny since it's longer than the original cut of BoG. A extended cut will be very welcomed.

Jaco was an excellent addition to the film. I want him in Super now.

The best scene in the entire movie in my opinion is the 1,000 army fight. It was fantastic to see every single one of the Z Warriors kicking ass like old times but again it felt too short. Roshi looks very strong in the trailers but he actually is the one that struggles the most. The poor guy can't even breathe right at times. If you just assume that every soldier he fought was in the 100's then his scenes make complete sense.

This whole scene also convinced me that the super humans are not in the millions. Krillin gets tired by battling what I assume are the mercenaries that Freeza hired (They were described in the script as troublesome) and gets rescued by Gohan, Krillin then goes and assists Roshi after resting a bit. I absolutely loved that.

I also came to the conclusion that Shisami at best is equal to Piccolo. The fight is short but very good. Shisami enters the battlefield like a badass and tells the soldiers to get out of the way. Piccolo just smirks and rushes with a powerful punch and then kick. Shisami blocks them and punches Piccolo. He appears to take slight damage from this and jumps evading a Ki blast from Shisami. Piccolo then launches a Makakosappo at Shisami but he dodges it and strikes Piccolo in the neck from behind knocking him down. A few seconds later Gohan sees that Piccolo is fighting evenly with Shisami, neither one of them is giving an inch. Just before Gohan steps in Piccolo managed to land a Ki blast to Shisami that pushes him away without damage. It appears that Piccolo was struggling slightly because he was not completely fresh, Piccolo even questions Gohan when he intervenes.

After Gohan defeats Shisami all of the Z Warriors take a Senzu Bean which means that even when fighting way weaker opponents you do get tired if you fight hundreds of them.

There are two things that really bothered me though. The Latin dub still refers to Beerus as Bills. This isn't that big of an issue as the next one: That 1.3 million line is indeed in the movie... What the fuck AT.... I really facepalmed very hard there.

Now that you mention it, one thing that I did liked about the dub is that this time it does refers to Beerus as the God of Destruction and not "the destroyer" like in BoG dub.

As for Beerus' name:
Don't expect the dub to change the name/pronunciation, it would be awesome of course but it will probably stay like that for consistency...

... although, they did changed Kaioshin's name in BoG so maybe... but I don't expect it.
