Additional Saiya-jin Survivors

(there has to be more saiyan survivors....) ....besides Goku(>Gohan, Goten, Pan) who was send to earth just before Planet Vegeta was destroyed,
Vegeta(>Trunks, bra) was on a mission when it happens, stated in TVspecial, Nappa & Radditz maybe they were with Vegeta,
Turles, dont know much about him, havent seen the movie,
and Brolly(and his father) escaped just before the planet was destroyed using Brolly's legendary powers.

but we were told (i think by Raditz) that Saiyan baby's are send to distant planets, so that they could conquer them, in Ozuro/gaint ape(?) form, or atleast something like that.

why do they keep saying that they are the only ones.... when they should know that there might be a strong possibility that there are more of them...
just like Vegeta and crew knew that goku was alive...

anyway, i dont know if this is a plothole or something, but its something i've been wondering about.
maybe this has been pointed out allready. but i'm knew here.
i was redirected here by someone called Humpski(?) from the Gamefaqs.com boards.
but there, the only awnser i got was... non canon bla bla bla....

I agree it does seem kinda strange that out of the entire Saiyan race Goku was the ONLY baby who had been sent on a mission at that time.

It's quite possible there are more Saiya-jins out there, they just have no way of knowing. I guess they could have asked the dragon.

"Hey Shenron, are there any surviving Saiya-jin babes in the universe and if so can you bring them here so we can like, you know...continue the species."

I dunno, maybe somewhere in the manga it says that he WAS the only baby away on a mission. I'd wait for someone more knowledgeable than me to pop in.

I figure Freeza probably called the Saiyans to Planet Vegeta before he blew it up. He'd want to wipe out as many as possible in one stroke, after all.

I believe there would have to be other saiyans taking over planets at the time of the planet's destruction. Think about it :out of an entire race of people, only four of them survived..?

Then wouldn't Goku's pod not have been launched at all?

Same thing happened in Star Wars Episode III when all the Jedi are called back to the Jedi Temple just to be eliminated by the Empire, and the ones who got warned afterwards stayed very far away from the Empire. It seems like the remaining Jedi are unwilling to confront the Empire, therefore hiding for eternity.

Enough said! There must be other surviving Saiyans that we don't know about wreaking small havocs around the galaxy. For example, the movies had shown other survived Saiyans such as Paragas, Broli, and Tullece. Though movies do not fit into the canon storyline, they're examples of the idea that more Saiyans had survived and that they are just not being noticed by anybody. (Probably because those who survived are too weak for other Kaios to worry about

)

I agree. The Saiyans conquered planets for a living. I mean, that's practically all the entire race did. I'd put about 3/4 of them, no more, having been on Planet Vegeta at the time.

Seemed to me that Freeza destroyed the planet kinda on a whim. I don't think he planned it out so that most of the Saiyans were home, or anything like that.

Yeah I like the idea that Freeza pulled a Palpatine. I mean why did Dodoria and other elite soldiers in Freeza's army go after Bardock and his crew. I'm sure after Planet Vegeta was destroyed Freeza sent his minons throughout the galaxy to planets Saiyan where on. Though I'm sure some slipped through the cracks and either escaped to live as mercenaries on their own or small groups or they where low class Saiyan children like Goku forgotten on some distant world to their own fates.

A cool fanfic idea would be if Vegeta was contacted by Saiyans who escaped Freeza and asked to help round up all the survivors and lead them. Kind of a what if, post Buu saga story.... hmmmm.

It's a neat idea, but it'd take a good ending to satisfy me. I already know Vegeta dies, but exactly "how" he and his bretherins die is what bothers me. Frieza could easily swat them all with his first form, and at the time, there was no other who could rival Frieza except his brother, and I doubt he'll turn on Frieza. Unless something like "Beautiful Trechery" were to happen.

Not to burst anyone's bubble (and don't get me wrong, I like Tullece and Broli) but there shouldn't be anymore Saiyans left besides Goku. It takes away from the whole signifigance of Goku taking on the mantle of the last Saiyan during the Freeza saga, and further fullfilling the legend and avenging his heritage by becoming the Super Saiyan. Take that away from Goku and he becomes just another generic fighter with blond hair.

I've always wondered about this too. But I really don't care, honestly. I'm happy with the saiyan characters we were giving throughout the entire series. It is an interesting point though. I wouldn't mind if there was another movie or saga with yet another "bad" saiyan as an enemy. It'll just give us another reason why Goku is, and always be the strongest being in the entire universe.

I don't think so, if I remember correctly, Brolly was a baby at the time so he could go Super Saiyan yet, meaning that he was still weaker than Freeza.

Broly was 10,000 as a baby, about the same as Bardock.

Looks like we think on the same wavelength señor. I would think that there would have to be some planets that became sort of like "barrios" to them and where real saiyajin culture was preserved. Perhaps kind of like the real barrios in the US reflect old Mexican living styles mixed with new ways of living to survive the changes. Of course I could be making this all up since I am writing a fanfic on it. I wish that Saiyamel would hurry up and put up a syllabus on the saiyan language quickly. I need somthing other than Spanish for them to speak!

Well, if there were indeed more Saiyans out in space somewhere, I'm sure some of them would've had scouters that would've allowed them to have heard everything that was going on on Earth and on Namek. They would've heard about Frieza destroying their home planet, and then they would've gathered on Namek and helped Vegeta and Goku kill Frieza.

I'm just thinking out loud here.
