They could have at least retell the events of Movie 13 and the 2008 Jump Special since they happen after Buu and most younger kids where not around when they first came out.
I still think that Dragon Ball Super is just gonna fill in the gaps between the end Majin Boo arc, the 2008 OVA, BOG and ROF. I mean, what would really be gained of great significance from retelling BOG and/or ROF?
Hopefully as you said i don't see anything to gain from retelling bog & rof
What's wrong with Videl acting a little more cute?

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Videl grew up, she is having a child, got and/or getting married, she's no longer some rebel high school girl. Although will admit, she does seem a bit too feminine for her style, but oh well!
So glad we got this preview! I assume Beerus is fighting a "champion" from one of the planets he is going to destroy, or something along those lines.
Definitely some Champa vs Beerus rivalry going on as well. Wonder if Whis and female Whis get along? I could totally see them together like parents watching their two children bicker at one another laughing about it.
Goku and Goten together is going to be so great! Can't wait to see this

I think they're referring to Videl's personality. She seems like an entirely different character nowadays.
Not sure if Great Saiyagirl is in manga, but that was a thing after the death of Kid Buu. She was great in the Toei movies too.
Now... she's... just a girly girl, and looks very different too. I mean, I don't care either way since she wasn't all that significant. But it is weird...

Twas a joke. You know, cause Gohan has turned into the butt of one.

The silly girly sooooo kawaii behaviour is totally unlike Videl's originally badass personality.
Gohan gave her something that changed her. His heart, personality, love affection, dick, and even a child.
Ding ding ding.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super
I dont like how the mexican dub gave her "lovely" lines like telling Gohan "My love" or "Sweetie"...
About the look, I liked her better with short hair too...
Sleeping until the tournament is over.

These days people start throwing the words "filler" and "silce of life" everytime characters aren't punching each other. No matter if something is moving the plot or there's character exposition.
Imagine if DB started these days. It would go like this:
"hey, what's happening in Dragon Ball today?"
"Goku wants Mutenroshi to train him, so he's bringing him some chicks now."
"oh i see, just slice of life filler then. skippable. "
I think Videl's transition is similar to ChiChi, so it's to be expected.
ChiChi goes from angry, badass fighting girl to a sweet, loving wife type in mere seconds at the end of Dragon Ball. And prior to that she was already the sweet wife type when Goku unknowingly agreed to marry her before they meet again several years later at the tournament. Then becomes the over-protective mother in all of Z.
Videl was the badass fighting girl interested in learning how to keep up with Gohan and the boys and now is transitioning into that loving wife type, and will eventually be an over-protective mother to Pan. Could also be because she was thoroughly freaked out at the strength of her new friends, the strength of someone like Majin Buu and decided, "Well, I ain't about this life no more. Gohan, let's get hitched."

Actually this takes place before Battle of Gods. Videl doesn't have a child yet.

She's cute here and has her usual personality:
Here she's "cute" but she displays a totally different personality:

Again acting cute isn't a problem. Being cute is different from acting cute. She can act cute if she wanted to. She can embrace her femininity.
