Goku was very adamant about avoiding a fight with Super Buu altogether. The gap between the two fighters seemed rather large, and I think Goku was very well aware of that. Well Gohan supposedly lost no strength besides his rage boost, and relaxed pacifist unwilling to fight Gohan was waaaay above suppressed Cell. I don't believe Dabra is comparable to Perfect or Super Perfect Cell, only the suppressed Cell that fought Goku.
