Super could go beyond those 5 years without Goku and Bulma meeting.
It should be. They don't have to meet each other.
They were both in Namek and never crossed paths. Its not a rule.
It is a rule that they wont be meeting each other (unless its forgotten

) but you guys are right, it could be that way

This series has tons of retcons. A few more wouldn't hurt.
of course not.
I wouldnt mind either, just saying for the sake of continuity.
also... this is a minor thing (atleast for me)

Sleeping until the tournament is over.

I don't know why, but that smile feels very Toriyama-esque to me.

Just go through the years between Boo & FnF, then go shortly after FnF, and then go beyond EoZ. That would be perfect for me.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

The longer away from EoZ better for me. I actually am glad this isn't that far from Buu arc means it'll take us forever to reach EoZ

I think it's great they're starting right after Buu. This gives them 5 years to play with. Not quite sure how they're getting around Beerus appearing now, but it may be that the movies will now become "abridged versions" of certain events within the Series.

Nawww look at that smile. You can't get angry at a face like that.
Wow! Our hero couldn't look better!! Forget the Dragons Balls,
Son Goku will get all the ladies with that smile!
All the budget went to that shot.
Truth since the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai, in fact.

Nice, I guess? Right? Is it a good thing? We might get most of the original cast back.

At least now we're finally getting some kind of news on Super's international future. Holding out hope that Funi pulls a last minute miracle and we get a simulcast. I really don't want to be forced to watch this show via shady means, but it's like Toei is compelling me to.

Still a good chance, FUNi have yet to announce any summer show and they promised a big summer. Can't have a big summer without Dragonball, can they?

I noticed they were teasing some extra simulcast announcement this morning on Twitter. I may have missed it, (and if I didn't I'm cautiously hopeful without expectations) but it would seem that they had planned on putting something out press-wise today. Or that's what I inferred from it.
I don't recall anyone saying anything about it throughout the day here though. Considering the timing, I'm cautiously hopeful that it's Super.

I hate to give so much attention to a single frame from the ending credits sequence (which usually gets better animators than the show itself), but I'll have to join everyone else and say that Goku looks great in that shot.

Goku should be the main character forever! And I hope he makes a wish for immortality so that he doesn't have to age.

Nothing
yet. They've got two surprises left, and I get the feeling that with something like
Super, they'll want to save it for last.

They still have 2 more slots. so I'm guessing that they're waiting for Anime Expo® to announce the last 2 slots or maybe they want the dub to be out at the same time when the subs are out. I think most people will be like "Meh I will wait for the dub" if Funimation subs Super before the dub is released.
