Europe is getting a fancy New 3DS bundle that includes Dragon Ball Z cover plates?

...I really, really, REALLY freakin' hate Nintendo of America right now.

The idea of spending a lot of money to buy multiple systems and have region chips swapped is looking better and better.
Dragon Ball ended in 1997.

Sorry to be a bother, but does this game have online play?

The use of Japanese voices in the international trailers gives me hope that we'll get the original Japanese voice track like Attack Of The Saiyans did. Really hoping they just decide not to dub it.

The lack of Super Butōden 2 in the US trailer is very concerning. Just as I was getting excited, too...

I can't imagine there's enough voice work to not dub the game in this amount of time. The most likely reason for no dub in the trailer is that it's the same trailer from a Japanese event. Xenoverse also had undubbed trailers (minus Sabat doing a narrator voice) that were basically just trailers from Japan.

Sure, there's time, but I still wish they wouldn't bother with it. What happened with Attack Of The Saiyans was probably a fluke, but I'm still holding out hope that we'll get the original voices or a choice of both (Can 3DS carts even handle that?).

Of course they can handle it, there are games that give you multiple language options for audio, like Bravely Default.

Interesting. I truly wasn't aware of that.

Well hey, maybe the voice thing will be a non-issue. That'd be glorious.

Someone on the internet tried to argue with me that the game is exactly like Ultimate Battle 22 even though he's never played Extreme or even the demo lol. Some DBZ fans I swear.

I digress lol.

As far as codes go, looks like the trend will be every V-Jump and every Saikyou Jump we'll have new codes to input. I wonder if by the time the NA and EU copies are out if they'll have a cheat database or something.

lol Fanboys like those think they know everything.

Anyway, I'm actually thrilled to see a Dragonball game as a 2D fighting game that uses sprites instead of 3D models. We hardly see these kinds of games anymore, or at least as far as I've seen.

In terms of fighting games? The entire library of ArcSys with the exception of Guilty Gear Xrd (even tho they managed to make the models look like sprites) and Battle Fantasia, The King of Fighters XIII, the north-american developed SkullGirls and some niche Japanese games like Melty Blood, Uniel and Yagaratsu. Fortunately the sprite-love hasn't died just yet and hopefully it stays a little more (or goes the Guilty Gear path).

The spites in these types of games usually look great, but in this day and age, it almost seems like a step backward because of how much easier it is to make changes to characters and animations for 3D models than it is redoing entire sprites. A lot of people were complaining that the roster is a little sparse and a decent chunk of it is taken up by Gokus, Gohans and Buus. Maybe if they had used 3D models though, the selection probably might have been a little beefier?

Anyway, the game looks great regardless and it seems like people are having fun. That's all that really matters. Though maybe taking the Guilty Gear 3D models that look like sprites could be a good compromise for the future?

There was an interview with Arc where they explained making sprites is harder than 3D models because essentially they make the 3D model first then start working on the sprite work. That's the short version of it at least. These sprites are beautiful honestly my only gripe is as you said the clone characters. They really just have different specials and I believe different properties like in Smash Bros.

It doesn't.

This is directly from Bandai Namco's fact sheet on the game:
  • Z-Story - Play the game as one of your favorite Dragon Ball Z characters
  • Adventure Mode - Take on missions across eight regions where you can find gear and companions
  • Extreme World Tournament - Become the World Tournament Champion in this extremely challenging mode
  • Battle Mode - Select a character and battle against CPU opponents
  • Versus Mode - Battle another player via local wireless connection
  • Quest Mode - Create, view and trade Guild Cards via StreetPass
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Well, looks like North America is getting Super Butoden 2 as well, but only only when you order from Amazon.

I can dig it. Helps me decide where to buy it from, I guess.

OK, whoever is responsible for this can officially go screw themselves. Pre-order bonuses are one thing, but retailer exclusive pre-order bonuses are another, shadier thing.

I clicked on the link and it worked fine. Must be something on your end.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Well, I don't have a Facebook, so that might be it.

Either way, saw the homepage update.

Glad I preordered it from Amazon. Will be nice to place a classic DBZ fighter.

Is Super Butoden 2 for the 3DS as well? Because SNES VC games are Wii/WiiU only.

Would be awesome to have it on my WiiU.
