Well that sucks, I was ready to buy a subscription to FUNi's streaming service. If TOEI were smart, they'd have their own international paid streaming service with subs.... they kind of did it for the 08 special, they just need to charge a fee.

There's a Dragon Ball panel tomorrow, so we may still get something there. This is pretty much a 2 hour long advert, I'd like to hope the focused panel tomorrow is a bit more exciting.

Also, this will be my last post before Super airs! Heading to bed now and leaving for Japan in the morning. I hope everyone enjoys the first episode and I can't wait to read the responses once I'm settled at the hotel.

Not a simulcast announcement, I don't know why they'd announce it a few hours before it airs.
Isn't the current panel still going for another 40 minutes? There is still a chance, slim probably, they they might be saving a surprise announcement for the end.
My hopes are pretty low though. =(

This is completely absurd. I have to watch Dragon Ball...fansubbed....in 2015. Do they not realize I want to give them my money? Why make me go through shady channels to watch their show that they could easily provide for me themselves for profit? It's not like simulcasting is some new strange thing or something. What are the chances of one of the 3 broadcast dub announcements being Super? And would that be for later this year/next year? Is that far-fetched?

Look at Kai,people have been asking about it for years and even though they have at and are probably finished dubbing it they won't release it.

We can't say it's Toie's fault cause other countries have aired and released it so if they can then Funi can too.

It could be worse, you could have to wait weeks to watch VHS fansubs that had been copied about 30 times before you got them, making them barely watchable, or buy the VHS tapes directly from the fansub groups to get better quality at the cost of about $25 per tape.

I'd be more worried about bad translations from unofficial subs cementing themselves than anything if Funi can't secure in time.

If they don't announce something then I think Funi wants the dub to come out first. More DBZ fans watch the dub over subs and they would get more traffic on their web site if more people watch it dub.

That's normally how it goes, infact it's usually a year or just under after the blu-ray release in Japan unless it's being aired on TV.

Anyway Sucks no Super announcement of any kind, won't hold my breath for tomorrow though I guess it'll make sense to announce it at a DB panel if they did have it so we'll just have to see.

Sometimes simulcasts are announced after a show started, or even after a few episodes aired.

If that is not the case and we need to rely on fansubs, though...that is stupid and will look bad for everyone involved.

Wait, really? Do they just stay a couple weeks behind or do they release a bunch of episodes in quick succession to catch up?

Based on how long we've been waiting for Kai and how much longer we'll still be waiting,I doubt we'll get Super before 2019 and if we do it'll be at the end on 2018.

It only took a little over a year before Kai started airing on US TV (I know you are talking about the Buu arc, but that whole thing is it's own weirdness).
I'm still hopeful that we might get a dub sometime in the last fourth of the year or first half of next year. The quick turnover for F makes me think the dub could start any time after F's theatrical run ends (to mirror the Japanese release).
