Not a simulcast announcement, I don't know why they'd announce it a few hours before it airs.
Isn't the current panel still going for another 40 minutes? There is still a chance, slim probably, they they might be saving a surprise announcement for the end.
My hopes are pretty low though.

Sometimes simulcasts are announced after a show started, or even after a few episodes aired.

If that is not the case and we need to rely on fansubs, though...that is stupid and will look bad for everyone involved.

Wait, really? Do they just stay a couple weeks behind or do they release a bunch of episodes in quick succession to catch up?

They just release everything at once to catch up, whenever that happens.

If Funi doesn't pull a rabbit out of their hat tomorrow hopefully they can get a simulcast going in a few weeks, maybe right after F ends its theatrical run.
Then we'd only have to deal with mistranslations by bad fansubers being accepted as true for the first few episodes. lol

Oh yeah.. If the subbers miss translate something it's going to be known as fact in somemany places. Even if it's corrected today. I still here the name "Bills" echoed even today. *shudders*

This is completely absurd. I have to watch Dragon Ball...fansubbed....in 2015. Do they not realize I want to give them my money? Why make me go through shady channels to watch their show that they could easily provide for me themselves for profit? It's not like simulcasting is some new strange thing or something. Christ, Toei.

I guess times like this make me wish that Anime Labs was around to sub Super for us on VHS .

Hmm since we are going backwards and recapping BoG and "F", maybe FUNi want people to watch "F" first so they milk that and then be like oh Super will have that same storyline adapted, teehee.

I know, but the character designs look nothing like the official ones. I've never seen a storyboard like that.

I don't know what storyboards you've been looking at, but a lot of them rarely resemble the intended designs because they are mostly used for layout, sequencing, composition, etc. The art style isn't all that important. Hell, Hiromu Arakawa's manga storyboards usually look like someone tried drawing circles on top of a running washing machine. xD

I don't, because I don't remember where I saw them. I believe it was showing a progression how she goes from storyboarding the page to the finished line art for a part of the series with Ed and the original Greed. Excluding the lines serving as the "panels", I'm not sure if there were even 20 lines on the page. A big panel of Ed was literally an oval body with a circle head on top of it and his antenna dangling from it.

It probably helps that she's storyboarding for her own series, so she can be less detailed because she knows what she intends to do. For an anime like this, the details are more important, though sticking to the official designs 100% isn't.

Are we allowed to talk about what fansubbers are the best as long as we don't post any links? I don't watch fansubbed anime so I'd have no idea who's to watch. If we aren't allow to talk about that I'll just figure it out on my own.
