Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
DBZ and DBGT both had world building TV specials while they ran (though one of Z's was the result of Toriyama's own Trunks Special). So if the franchise really takes off again, who knows what we'll see. We could end up having Super running, a film every two years and some sort of TV special every now and then too. Could be interesting, but only if they don't end up constantly readapting the same material over and over again.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
The other way around doesn't mean it's an improvement, though. The One Piece fanbase prefers the tv versions of the arcs to the movies, inferior animation and all.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Heh. it seems Super is the doing the opposite, re doing a feature film into a TV adaption with inferior animation
Anyway, OP gets those tv specials because tv Fuji wants them for their Saturday nights. If Super gets popular enough, who knows? Like One Piece, it connects with all demographics at least.

Hmm, that's a good point about other countries...living in the UK I'd obviously understand it in terms of language if Funi got it, but it might take a while to get here...
Maybe Crunchyroll, with multiple language options for subtitles, would be better for everyone. (Works for Soul of Gold.)

Yep, and the majority of them don't even have the concept of simulcasts.FortuneSSJ wrote:A lot of countries love Dragon Ball.TheGmGoken wrote:Everyone so worried about Funimation similucast. How about other languages or countries? Latin America love DBZ. Could they have one or perhaps a French one?
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Well, we in Mexico know of simulcasts. We already watched Sailor Moon Crystal when it aired. Even if not many actually speak English, for international sake, I'm sure everyone would be totally down for English subs instead of NO-SUBS at all.alakazam^ wrote:Yep, and the majority of them don't even have the concept of simulcasts.FortuneSSJ wrote:A lot of countries love Dragon Ball.TheGmGoken wrote:Everyone so worried about Funimation similucast. Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I've been wanting to ask this for a while now. Where are people getting that the movies would be completely reanimated when adapted to episodes? If anything, we'd mostly be getting some newly added scenes along with the original animation to make things fit right.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Heh. it seems Super is the doing the opposite, re doing a feature film into a TV adaption with inferior animation
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
It's mostly common sense. From the several clues we've been having, the movies are most likely going to be retold and they wouldn't have much liberty just using KtK and FnF footage as is let alone entire sequences that wouldn't fit. Also, the difference in quality would be jarring and it wouldn't make much sense business wise.Daisetsu wrote:I've been wanting to ask this for a while now. Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
No-one knows for sure exactly, what you suggest would make sense but then it would be pretty jarring to go from one scene with pretty decent movie quality to another scene with sub par TV quality animation so they may animate everything again for consistency and if that is the case then the animation will be inferior to the movie version, so either way not looking good, in terms of animation.Daisetsu wrote:I've been wanting to ask this for a while now. Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Why would they recycle two movies they just created? You should realise the absurdity of that. There would have been no need to create ROF or BOG if they were just going to copy and paste both of the movies and release them again. ROF isn't even on DVD yet and was released over 2 months ago.Daisetsu wrote:I've been wanting to ask this for a while now. Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
It would be so funny, if Broly's popularity ensured him a role in DB Super, but seriously this was posted 2 weeks ago and it's first now we see it here on Kanzenshuu.SaiyanZ wrote:Is the silhouetted Broly-like Saiyan in the top right for Super or Heroes? Although it's most likely bullshit or has something to do with Heroes instead of Super, it's always fun to speculate and maybe Toriyama got inspired by Toyble's AF, where Broly is brought back to help in the reactivate Dragon Balls ritual, for which they needed 7 Super Saiyans. If Battle of Gods is going to take place way before Pan is even conceived, then yeah another Saiyan is needed and my initial thought was Tarble, but of course, if they want Broly for the job, that could Work too. Maybe rewrite his background, so he is the original Super Saiyan God

All speculation aside, there's less than an hour left to the premiere!
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
The shows gonna air in an hour and everyones complaining about animation. Come on people, let's get hyped and then we can talk trash about the show (if it sucks). Too bad that most of us can't officially support the series, I really have no clue what Toei is doing right now. They're stuck in the 90's.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I really couldn't be more excited, and I couldn't care less about the state of the animation. This is the first new episode of Dragon Ball to air on television in 18 years for god's sake. How can you not be caught up in the moment? This is what I've dreamed of ever since the day Yo! Son Goku and his Friends Return aired. Every special, every movie, and Kai itself have felt like they were leading up to something special and now we're finally here. I really want to thank Toriyama for taking interest in Dragon Ball again, and giving us new adventures with the characters we love. And I'd also like to thank Dragon Ball Evolution, without which Toriyama may have never rediscovered his love for the Dragon Ball world.

30 minutes people! I don't care about animation either. We got some good animations in DBZ but most of the time was not that good.
English is not my main language. Sorry if I make a mistake.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I'm not picky when it comes to animation so I'll probably be OK with what we get unless it's something as bad as the Naruto vs pain animation.
What I'm looking foreword to the most is the opening cause it'll hopefully tells us more about the arc and the series and a whole.

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I'm just excited to be part of the fandom while new Dragon Ball is airing week to week again, where we're getting main story material instead of just spin-off stuff or a movie. It's almost like being in Japan during the original serialization. While I would of course prefer great animation, I'm not a stickler for it. The story will be much more important to me, and I am curious to see how everything plays out (including the readaptations). The music might have a bigger impact than the animation though. I generally don't find myself worrying about music in the franchise, but I also didn't watch the Buu Arc of Kai...which I hear got pretty bad at times. If Super suffers from bad music and placement, it may break the immersion...

Odd to think that in 25 minutes from now, a new series starts. Amazing how we had to dealt with fake rumors of AF and now we are finally here.

Who produced the ost for Ultimate Blast's cutscenes? That's the kind of music I'd like for the series.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I'm just excited to be part of the fandom while new Dragon Ball is airing week to week again, where we're getting main story material instead of just spin-off stuff or a movie. Chris Sabat just said that they dont have the "authority" to work on Super at the moment. Truth or not, thats the final answer. :/

Only 30 minutes to see if they have done well, or fuzzed it up.
