Oh well, I don't see what they can do that hasn't already been done in BoG, it will be the exact same thing, will it not?

At least there's new scenery.

In the Super Start Guide, there are design images for a giant luxury cruise ship called the "Princess Blooma" (プリンセス・ブルマ号). Part of the description for it mentions that her birthday party will be held there.

There are also snippets of the script for #3 and #4. #3 has Beerus and Whis with the prophet fish talking about SSJ God. #4 has Pilaf trying to steal the Dragon Balls, with a description mentioning the setting as a luxury cruise ship. It all lines up.
Seems like it's basically just a retold BoGs with a few minor details being changed. That honestly makes me feel a hell of a lot better about this adaption of the movies.

Huh, so they are moving it from Capsule Corp to a cruise ship, sounds interesting, I hope the games have it as a stage, lol.
I'm interested to see how they are changing things, are they going to move most of the Pilaf shenanigans to before Beerus shows up? I really hope the BoG arc isn't dragged out, from the SSJ3 battle to the end of the God fight should really only be about 4 episodes, maybe 5. And hopefully they get to the F arc a bit quicker, I want to get to Universe 6 before episode 20!

I would want at least 2 episodes for the God fight, realistically. Plus 1 episode for the "dragon balls and SSG ritual". 1 episode for Vegeta/Beerus fight. 1 episode of "trying to appease Beerus and Whis with food and make sure he doesn't kill us all. That is 5 episodes, and that is without adding anything new at all, really. Given they are spending 3 episodes just introducing the plot, I can't see them getting it over with in 5 episodes. And I want some nice episodes in between BoG and Freeza: A Jaco introduction episode for sure, maybe with flashbacks. Vegeta and Goku training with Whis, how they attain Blueper. Some explanation of how Vegeta gets God powers too. Then it would be nice if they fleshed out Freeza's training. And just Fnf with no embellishment is 5 episodes, so it is likely going to be a few more.

I don't see why people want to rush through all this, it seems fun. I can see this chunk of the series being comparable in length to the Saiyan Saga, on the order of 30 episodes.

Of course Bulma would name it after herself. Also I realize ships do preface their names with a title often enough, still it's hilarious in that I think this the first time we've seen her refer to a royal title to match Vegeta's. XD

There's no realistic way to make those fights (aside from SSJG Goku vs Beerus) last that long unless you completely nerf Beerus, which is extremely unlikely, or throw side stories in there as well. I mean Vegeta barely lasted a minute against Beerus. Don't see how you could drag out a fight between them a whole episode.

If they're on a cruise then I guess the fight between Beerus and Goku will take place above the water? I hope not because I was more of a fan of the fight in BoGs that took them through several different terrains.

Exactly, and they seem to be getting at least some of the Pilaf shenanigans out of the way in episode 4, I just don't see how the BoG arc could go past Episode 9 or 10 without massive changes.

If they incorporate Champa and FemWhis into the BoG arc somehow, then yes, it could go on for longer.

Looks like some of them are newcomers to the franchise, most of which I'm not familiar with. I still hope for Tate, Shida, and Nakatsuru to be animation supervisors at some point in the future.

How much i would like to see a whole episode adapting "Jaco", introducing Tights and everything. But maybe they think that would weird out the audience.

I think that's charming in a way. After GT, we were pretty much stuck with Yamamuro everytime Dragon Ball was animated, but now we can see those characters under new and different interpretations every week, even if i doubt the art style will fluctuate as much as it did back then.

We should expect to see Tights if Jaco's in this. If they're doing Bulma's party again, it'd make sense for her to be there as long as they explain who she is.

Hmm, I only mentioned one fight other than SSG Goku vs. Beerus. I don't mean that Vegeta/Beerus will last the whole episode, just that it would be the climactic focus of that episode: you can fill the rest with Beerus vs Buu fight over pudding, other random characters fighting him, Whis tasting things in the background, Bulma/Beerus interactions, commentary from the Kais. Have the dramatic reveal of Goku at the very end. That is plenty for 20 minutes. If they can make an episode out of SS3 Goku vs Beerus, they can make an episode out of the other battles on earth.

I can write basic outlines of the other episodes I mentioned, and considering the relatively slower pace of Dragon Ball episodes compared to Dragon Ball movies, I think that is plenty. I am just thinking of dramatic arcs for each episode: there are quite a few that can be made into episodes, and I think getting to the end of BoG by episode 10 is quite fast -- I don't think they will stretch BoG for 20 episodes, but I think "at most 4, maybe 5" forgets that the extended movie without any embellishment is over 100 minutes.

Also, this is Dragon Ball: There is no fight too trivial that Dragon Ball cannot make an episode out of it. :)

I can imagine goku trying to take on Beerus in regular, SSJ, and then SSJ3 based on the pictures in the Starter guide, and because he can't get a read on him. And that taking up some time. None of them lasting that long of course. :lol:

^Is that Beerus blowing up another planet in that second image? It looks like it but I can't quite tell for sure. If it is then it's nice that Akira Toriyama is showing Beerus doing his job this time around.

We're talking Toei animating Dragon Ball, they're capable of stretching 5-minute fights onto 10 episodes with the never-ending talking about fighting in-between few actual punches :lol:

If Chioka Kimitoshi is credited with the storyboard for Episode #5 I'm going to laugh, given he storyboarded the early portion of the movie (near as I can tell, at least).
