What is the worst DB dub?

The danish dub is excellent, and one of my favorites... I've heard many danes hate on it, though. I wonder why... I've seen a lot of dubs, and honestly, it stands out as excellent to me. The worst dub I've heard? The old serbian dub, or the turkish dub, I think.

I've seen it. It just a bit better than the Norwegian dub, making it quite a bad dub. Not the worst ever, but on the lower part of the list.

My vote goes to the Big Green dub. People these days can look at clips of it on Youtube and see the funny side, but back in 2005 when Toonami UK got everybody hyped for the DBZ movies finally being shown only to disappoint everyone when they heard the voices, it was pretty damn annoying. Those Big Green movies seemed to be the beginning of the end for Toonami UK, as DB/Z/GT all got taken off the air around that time and there wasn't much left to watch aside from 4Kids One Piece.

It's not as comically bad as the Norwegian dub, but it's anything but good.

Lmao, i grew up with the old serbian dub, it was not until recently that i saw how bad it was (i ruined my childhood memories ) But I'm grateful to it because that was my introduction to this awesome franchise. They dubbed all 153 episodes of Dragon Ball and 52 of Z. It wasnt until 2010 when another company dubbed 105 episodes of Dragon Ball Z that i remembered that awesomness from my childhood and decided to watch everything. And i did, in 2010/2011, i watched all episodes of Dragon Ball/z/gt, all movies and read the manga, it was known as the return of the fanboy. And here i am, no.1 Montenegrin Dragon Ball fan, watching all this new stuff and loving it !!!

Actually, it's not "excellent".

It's much better than most of european dubs, but still has some errors and some voices are not the best.

My vote goes to the Big Green dub. Big Green dub has script errors that came from the french dub(they used the french dub) and the acting isn't the best, but there are worse dubs than that.

Anyway, for the worse dubs, besides Malaysian english, old serbian dub and others, we can put a few more, like the french dub(with horrible scripts), european portuguese dub(terrible acting and voices with corny jokes all the time and to make it really worse, it was translated by the french dub), the greek, and a few others.

And I have to say that the ocean dub became really bad after Cell Saga, but not so bad as some others I said.

The 'Ocean' dub you're referring to was written (and owned) by FUNimation, so it counts as part of their dub. Even the later Ocean-voiced dub done with different companies was basically still using FUNi's scripts.

Yeah I know, I just said "At Ocean" to try and emphasise the joke a bit better. The thread is about dubs, not companies, and what we call the "FUNimation Dub" is more faithful than what is known as the "Ocean Dub". They are two different entities.

I was actually talking about Funi's dub in general. Most of the voice actors are not really into character...Take Killa for example.

Blue water, Ocean dream, Ocean Walker. Whatever the name is, I don't like them. Funi and Water are still cringeworthy.

Both swedish and norwegian maybe were translated by the Big Green dub(the 2 dubs use the "Big Green" term to refer to Piccolo). The danish dub of the movies was based in the big green dub too(the danish dub of the series was based in the french, but with many corrections based in the manga, as german dub was).

Acting-wise, I'd say that Speedy's Malaysian English version holds first place, with AB Groupe's Big Green dub coming in at a not-so-close second.

Translation-wise … FUNimation. Both cut and uncut. They change almost every line. They keep their old names even in the uncut dub (Krillin, Fr-i-eza and so on …). And yes, I know why they do so … but even in the uncut dub?!?
French is a second for me, but not at all a close one. At least, they somewat stuck to the original dialogue.
Third comes Big Green. Besides the weird name-changes, it's very obvious that they translate from French.

Malaysian/Speedy Co. by far, no contest: I could care less about the translation if I can't even listen to the characters without cringing and bursting out laughing.

I've searched a bit more too of the arabic dub(the original and Kai) and it is not that great. The acting some times is good and in some other times is totally awful. Other dub I have searched a bit is the original basque dub. It sounds to be a not horrible dub, but it could be a lot better with some differences. For example, they lefted some screams and even some complete words in japanese(like Goku's "Urusane!" when he kills Broly in the 8th movie, for example):

But it's not the worse dub, even with that facts. Actually is a bit(but only a bit) far from be the worse or one of the worse dubs. But is rare dub, so I shared here with you guys.

The Romanian dub. Bad voices and acting and there are like 3-4 actors doing everybody. Literraly, EVERYBODY!

Funi's dub is awful too, and to make things worse, it's the prevailing dub in the USA. It's the main culprit as to why some people view DB as "a stupid kids cartoon".

Until I know, Romania used voice over, not dubbing. Are 2 different things.
