Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I really dig the new chapter and Torotaro's artwork is amazing. I love how well he draws the fight with Goku against Beerus. Champa showing up early is a surprise which can be building up to something. Maybe Champ is going to set up something to kill Beerus or maybe he will go to Beerus' temple just to eat all of Beerus food while he is gone

It's a nice touch, because it's possible Kaio has a history with Whis from even before Beerus.Birusu16 wrote:One particular thing to note is that Kaio knows of Whis hence him calling him Whis-sama whereas in BoGs he never even addresses him, which gives off the feeling that he has no idea who he is. Interesting.

King Kai drops the F bomb in the fan translation. I'm pretty sure that is wrong.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Kind of bummed the majority of the showdown on Kai's planet is almost exactly like BoG, hoping the anime is much much different, yes having Goku fighting Beerus form by form was a cool way to extend the fight and not nerf Beerus but the SS3 was almost identical I hope its becuase Toyotaro wasn't given any info on it and BoG was all he had to go on (fingers crossed). Also it seems to me that Champa is frightened of Beerus, so I doubt he is heading to Earth like him, I guess Champa wants to do something dodge while Beerus is in this occupied state. On that note watching the promo again it seems Champa and Beerus interact not on Earth, so maybe Beerus senses Champa just before he lands and Earth?
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Of course it's just an exaggeration, but I keep hearing that the japanese language doesn't have curse words and the translation depends on context or its emphasis, so the Word Kaio used could be translated as an f bomb, but also something lighter.Hellspawn28 wrote:King Kai drops the F bomb in the fan translation. Yea it was very identical, the only thing that did make it a lil more interesting is Goku fighting form by form and not showing it off. Also the fact that Goku didnt do the nice intro that King Kai made him do on BoG, instead he instantly went SSJ1 and says lets rumba! was more Gokuish to me.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Kind of bummed the majority of the showdown on Kai's planet is almost exactly like BoG, hoping the anime is much much different, yes having Goku fighting Beerus form by form was a cool way to extend the fight and not nerf Beerus but the SS3 was almost identical I hope its becuase Toyotaro wasn't given any info on it and BoG was all he had to go on (fingers crossed). I'm pretty much certain the anime will do it differently since they'd been doing some serious changes+major feats like on ch 1 Beerus uses a ki blast while on ep 1 he taps the table and ep2 he drops a dandruffed size ki.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I'm glad it was the pretty much the same. I was always against these movie re-tellings, so anything they keep the same (or close to it) makes me happy. I mentioned a few weeks ago that the only way they could draw this fight out without nerfing Beerus was to have Goku fight him in each individual SSJ form rather than going straight to SSJ3. It seems Toriyama was thinking the same thing.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
So what's the point in having a manga that gives away what happens in the anime a couple of weeks....
This seems like a really unnecessary manga.

I you don't want to be spoiled, avoid this thread. Some of us are spoiler junkies that don't mind sneak peeks. Also, this has nowhere near the content of the next 2-3 episodes of the anime -- nothing on Bulma's party, nothing on Pilaf, cut out all the oracle fish stuff. It seems to be mostly episode 5. It is just a small look ahead to get people excited, I think.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I don't mind the manga being ahead, especially since we have our first break week coming up on the 26th.
On hiatus.

Promotional purposes most likely.Bullza wrote:So what's the point in having a manga that gives away what happens in the anime a couple of weeks....

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I think the manga is just gonna do the more important scenes, while the anime covers everything.
Also it seems Kai pointed out waht champa is by saying Beerus is the strongest God of Destruction from this universe. So I'm guessing Champa is a god of destruction from this universe as well but a weaker one.

By that logic any manga is unnecessary, since every manga is always ahead of the anime counterpart.Bullza wrote:So what's the point in having a manga that gives away what happens in the anime a couple of weeks....

I'm loving this. While the anime fleshes out things better, the manga does the important stuff and gets a faster pacing. And the chapter size should be the double we are getting because its monthly, which is disappointing.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Any confirmation one way or the other about who this "dinosaur with the bad attitude" is? Might it have been a mistranslation where Beerus says he wiped out the dinosaurs, like Battle of Gods?

The "dinosaur with the bad attitude" is most likely a shout out to Godzilla.Tyro wrote:Any confirmation one way or the other about who this "dinosaur with the bad attitude" is? Might it have been a mistranslation where Beerus says he wiped out the dinosaurs, like Battle of Gods?

I was just going to ask this! My guess was initially old evil Piccolo since his minions look like dinosaurs (and it made me think of Goku's line in DBZA "are.. are you a yoshi?"Any confirmation one way or the other about who this "dinosaur with the bad attitude" is? Could be. I doubt it was the alien planet with the dinosaurs that we saw in episode 2 since we saw it destroyed.Tyro wrote:Any confirmation one way or the other about who this "dinosaur with the bad attitude" is? Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Thinking about it, it seems logical that they'd mistranslate "Those dinosaur creatures with a bad attitude that I destroyed". It's the same group that mistranslated "Ancestor, one planet has disappeared" into "One of our ancestor's planets has disappeared", after all.irreality wrote:I was just going to ask this! I guess the "Godzilla" guess makes sense, although more boring.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
That's exactly what crossed my mind. It just seems so strange to hear Beerus say - twice in the same chapter even - that he asked someone to destroy something for him. He's the God of Destruction. At least the Freeza part has been around for awhile. But at the same time it very well could be a proper translation, especially since Whis seems to follow that up with "Yes, you did order that, didn't you?"Doctor. wrote:Thinking about it, it seems logical that they'd mistranslate "Those dinosaur creatures with a bad attitude that I destroyed". Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Well no because there's no guarantee that a manga is going to even get an anime, most manga don't and those that do take years before they catch up.By that logic any manga is unnecessary
With this though the anime was obviously made first. The manga's purpose seems to be to tell you "kinda" what's going to happen in the series in a couple weeks.
Why? What's the purpose in this? Sure the manga was made for promotional purposes but why can't it be behind the anime if it's just going to be a condensed version of it anyway? Or why it can't just tell stories for things we won't see in the anime, like behind the scenes stuff?
