Google Trends is a stupid way to determine cultural impact, because it does not determine it in any way.

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
They also said "no power scaling" but still used the bomb power (with made up numbers) and multiply it by how strong Goku is suppose to be by EoS, so hypocrite.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:So, I was watching the first Goku vs Superman fight, and I noticed something strange.
According to the Kanzenshuu, the whole point of battle powers was to show how unreliable & meaningless they were... what? It wasn't the battle powers that were meaningless, it was the scouters that were useless because the Z-Senshi could alter their battle power, and the scouters weren't fast enough to notice it, which made the Z-Senshi appear weaker than they actually were, and the villains were underestimating them & let their guard down.
They stopped using scouters for that reason, but they kept using ki sensing, which was a much better way to compare someone's power with another's. From Freeza arc, to Boo arc, to GT, to Resurrection "F", we still have the fighters sensing their opponents' battle power, which is how they know who is stronger than who, and by having a fight, they just measure the opponents' battle power more accurately, and watch their special abilities & skills, if they have any.
ScrewAttack also say that the battle powers became impossible to measure after Freeza arc because the numbers are pointless according to the Daizenshuu, which is false from what I know, the Daizenshuu simply say that their battle powers becaume immeasurable, none of the guides ever said that they became pointless, they even gave extra numbers for characters even before Saiyan arc, and gave us extra multipliers for forms after Freeza arc.
They also said that we can't measure Goku's strength through other's characters' feats... I agree when someone uses a special technique to destroy a planet, but why what about when others use similar (ex. Vegeta's Gyarik-Ho), or the same techniques (ex. Cell's Kamehameha), and Goku can launch an even stronger blast? I mean, if Cell can destroy our Solar System with a Kamehameha, then SS3 Goku should be able to do the same and more with his much more powerful Kamehameha, right?
They also said that they wouldn't use battle powers, yet they used battle power multipliers... what?
Are you that surprise? These guys proven numerous of time they don't know what the hell there talkin about heck these guys think buu has weakness to bullets despite a weaker version of him have bullets bounce off of him.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:So, I was watching the first Goku vs Superman fight, and I noticed something strange.

That's not what they mean when they say Power Scaling. They mean that just because someone who's comparable/weaker than they are does something doesn't mean they can. Like, just because Goku's stronger than Guldo doesn't mean he can stop time. You know, a question of how much of something is ability vs technique and skill, etc.Neo-Makaiōshin wrote:They also said "no power scaling" but still used the bomb power (with made up numbers) and multiply it by how strong Goku is suppose to be by EoS, so hypocrite.
Thats obvious, because Goku doesnt have that power. A proper example of what you might have tried to say could be: "Just because Goku is stronger than Roshi/Piccolo does not mean he can blow up the moon", also speaking of powerscaling and using what i said, look at the example i gave, if we look only at feats this would put Roshi>Goku, which is ridiculous, powerscaling imo is the most appropiate way to mesuare power in Dragon Ball.Mewzard wrote: That's not what they mean when they say Power Scaling. Pretty much you can't go by feats in dbz otherwise saiyan saga piccolo is stronger than whis due blowing up the moon while whis never done that.Neo-Makaiōshin wrote:Thats obvious, because Goku doesnt have that power. I found that hilarious. Goku got the bigger cheer. He's still totally screwed.Bullza wrote:They asked who was rooting for Superman and who was rooting for Goku and Goku got a much bigger cheer.
Looks like it's a couple of minutes of away.
