Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.
Was at Armageddon Expo (http://www.armageddonexpo.com/nz/) today, and the movie had quite a presence there. It's getting a far bigger promotional push than BOG, which is fantastic to see. The theatre that's holding the screenings in my city had a booth there where they had the trailer playing (along with a bunch of other titles), as well as fliers advertising the screenings. I'll throw up an image when I get around to it, along with the purchases I made at the event. There were also a few large posters that were up around the venue, but unfortunately there were none for sale. Really looking forward to this, though. It's going to be massive. We're still just under a month out, but a large chunk of tickets have already been sold.

In my opinion, Shenron sounds very annoying if you are listening to this with headphones.
That was hilarious! I love how the money just dropped like that, like Shenny just pooped it out,

I though it was more funny that they wish for just a million zenni, instead a like a billion or trillion. Like, they are so dumb and childish that one million was the highest number they could think of. The Pilaf are the Dr Evil of anime and manga villains.

So you guys know that Freeza speak: "If I train I could reach a battle power of 1,300,000" was indeed a error? Since he is much more stronger than that in his final form and had a similiar BP in his Third Form?
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

It actually sounds more like Micah Solusod (Soul in Soul Eater) to me. People tend to mix them up often; they do sound sorta similar. I actually thought he was Johnny when I first heard the Soul Eater dub.

To me it sounded like Superman's voice actor from Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, George Newbern.
It probably isn't, but that was my immediate thought, when listening to the clip.

The original japanese version of course.
He really said that? One point three million was his goal?
When he was already at at least a million in his 2nd form?

Spoiler:
Yes, he really did.
I personally believe Toriyama forgot the battle powers from back in the Freeza Arc and after hearing [F] just thought that Freeza's battle power was 530,000, as that line is sung quite noticeably.
No listing at Cineplex in my city! We got the last one but hopefully they don't wait around and have a special showing next year when the Blu Ray comes out. I'll probably have to query the head office on this film...
Well, what do you know? Turned up just now on the website! Says August 10th, one showing 7:00 PM. Am I going it asks...
He could just be referring to his first form. Considering there was originally a ~220x difference between his first and true form at full power, then it'd be a huge increase.

In which case, he must have vastly exceeded his expectations, given what he did in his first form XD

Firstly, surely 1 Million Zeni isn't a lot of money? From Dragonball Super, we know that Satan gave Goku 100 Million Zeni, which according to the (admittedly somewhat outdated) information we know from Toriyama about how that would translate into real money, 1% of that is reletively worthless.
Is this just part of the gag? I mean, the wad of notes is pretty small - so either it's practically worthless and Zeni is an incredibly hyper-inflated currency, or it's comprised out of banknotes that hold a fairly huge numerical value.
