Wait. What? The movie hasn't even made its proper theatrical run yet, never mind it coming out on Blu-Ray. Are...they sending you a screener or something?
By the way, is this movie being screened at Otakon this weekend?

The movie has already been dubbed and I'm receiving exclusive copies of it and saw the early screening via their press kit only made available to certain people, not really that hard to obtain as I'm sure the staff here got the press kit as well.

Doesn't look like it, as per their blog: "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ Official Panel".

Huh, that's interesting. How exactly do you apply for one? Not planning on doing it myself, just curious. Also, I'm assuming the exclusive copy that they're sending out isn't the full home release, correct?

Thanks for clearing that up. I'd heard a few things on Twitter, but I wasn't sure.
On a side note, this is how my theatre is looking right now in terms of ticket sales for its two screenings. We're not getting the movie until the 15th and 16th of August, so it's still a good 3 weeks away.

Apologies for the low quality screenshots, but you still get the idea.
Ah, finally some concrete news. For a moment there, I genuinely thought they were going to drop the ball on this one again! I'm more excited about the Blu-ray coming this year, actually. That's definitely the biggest shock from all this. I have to wonder whether they lost a fair few sales due to imports last time.
For a film I didn't like all that much, I will have seen it three times in cinemas once I see the dub. Hopefully they have a few subtitled screenings, too. Would be nice to actually see it with subtitles at least once before home release. If in the likely event that doesn't happen, I can't say I'll be too bothered. The quality of the dub is pretty much the only thing holding my last shred of interest in this film.
Super has come and whisked away the hype, leaving only Chris Ayres to draw me in. Frankly, that's a pretty big draw! Should be a fun experience. I imagine there'll be some meet-ups in order?
To be fair, they could be screening the old dub of Dragonball Z: Move 4 for all I care, the novelty of Dragonball being in a UK Cinema will make me open my wallet to pay for a seat by itself.

Oh god, I'll go anywhere across the UK to catch this film. I'm so hyped! Just need find out which cinemas are going to have it in. If it's in my area I'd actually go to see it a few times.

So they must be doing this independently from FUNimation then? Interesting, I don't expect much of anything in terms of extras then. I have the Japanese Blu-ray on pre order so I will just get the regular Blu-ray unless Manga come out with like a Steelbook or something.
I've got the Japanese CE on pre-order, from Nippon Yasan. I had to get that Storyboard!. I do plan on getting the Manga UK release, but if FUNi top it, then I'll have to go with theirs.
So ROF is getting a "substantial number" of screens for the film in the UK and a Blu-Ray release this year? Pinch me, I must be dreaming. This is awesome news. Nice going MangaUK.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Firstly, surely 1 Million Zeni isn't a lot of money? From Dragonball Super, we know that Satan gave Goku 100 Million Zeni, which according to the (admittedly somewhat outdated) information we know from Toriyama about how that would translate into real money, 1% of that is reletively worthless.
Is this just part of the gag? I mean, the wad of notes is pretty small - so either it's practically worthless and Zeni is an incredibly hyper-inflated currency, or it's comprised out of banknotes that hold a fairly huge numerical value.
According to Toriyama 1 Zeni = 1 Yen. Sounds about right. So, it's like getting a million dollars. Still a lot of money when you don't have any...

Actually, we have an in-universe exchange rate as of Jaco; 1 yen is worth 1.5 zeni. The dollar and yen conversion always fluctuates, but the standard for comparison is usually 1 dollar equaling 100 yen.
So Pilaf ended up a little less than $7,000 and Goku ended up with just shy of $700,000. Not exactly rolling in dough, but as you said, it's a lot better than being broke.
