Hopefully as a Ssj3 cause it'll make seeing you get kicked around a little more satisfying.

Freeza's arc will probably be the same length so hopefully we'll start the u6 arc in ep21.

Oh for God's sake, the rage boost returns. I absolutely despise that scene in BoG.

That would be utterly pointless seeing how the orginal Super Saiyan transformations are about to become redundant.

That's exactly why I want to see it now cause this'll be the last time we'll see him&Goku use them.

I feel yah, that was one of the most cringe worthy part of the movie. SSJ3 couldnt do shit against Beerus and they make Vegeta do a combo at him in ssj1/2. :lolno:

I would excuse it had a similar scene (against Cell) not happened in the past. It didn't work before (when his son was killed, not slapped unconscious), shouldn't work now.

Same here! I love that they say: hey, powerlevels and performance in battle are not solely determined by what transformation number you are at -- you can be stronger at SSJ2, and you can overwhelm a stronger opponent through surprise, even if it is not necessarily sustainable. And that the Son Family is not the only one with hidden depths that come out in times of extreme emotion.

Because it is unthinkable that Vegeta is stronger than he was 8 years ago, or that Vegeta feels more deeply about his wife than he does Future Trunks (who although biologically related to him, he only knew for a year, and that was in the ROSAT).

It's not unthinkable that Vegeta is stronger here, in fact he is. It's unthinkable he could produce such a bigger power boost when both situations were entirely comparable. No character outside of Gohan has ever gained these kinds of rage boosts (without transforming as a result). When Bulma was killed in the Boo arc, Vegeta didn't get as mad lol.

I'm not sure the situations are entirely comparable. In Cell, they all went to the battle expecting to die. Although the precise circumstances shocked Vegeta enough to boost him, it wasn't that weird in the context of the battle. And again, although Vegeta was starting to get a heart at this point, I think it was more startling to him to have feelings for anyone at all at that point.

By the time Bulma died in the buu arc, everyone on Earth had already died, pretty much. Even Vegeta was dead! Vegeta was expecting to go to hell at this point and never see Bulma again.

In BoG, Bulma is just having a party, and is a non-combatant. I think this is one of those things like, it just dind't enter his mind that was even a possibility. I'm more baffled at how *Bulma didn't die* from that slap, by all accounts she should have shattered, than I am from Vegeta having a comparable power level to Goku -- which is entirely reasonable, in my mind.

I'm actually looking forward to the "MY BULMA!!" scene. It's nice to see how deeply he cares for his wife. Getting away from that, hopefully we see SSJ3 Gotenks fight this time.

Before Cell returned, everyone thought he had died for good, so the shock is still comparable. Vegeta knew everyone's lives were on the line the moment Kaio told him about Beerus, really, so he had just as much time to "adjust" his mindset to the worst possible outcome. I think it's stupid too that Bulma didn't die from the slap.

What I find most irritating about the scene is that it's absolute pandering and fanservice for shippers and Vegeta fans and adds nothing of worth to the series. What was the scene's purpose? To show Vegeta loves Bulma? What was his sacrifice in the Boo arc for? To show the normal SS form can still be useful? Goku literally ten minutes later uses it against Beerus. To show Vegeta "finally" surpassing Goku? Well, good luck with that, Goku regains his title as the strongest 5 minutes later. It has no purpose.

I still think BoG is a great movie, and this arc will probably be a great arc as well, but cut out that scene entirely, and it's gonna make it better for me.

I think the purpose of that scene is as you say: to show that Vegeta does love Bulma, and that he is on similar footing with Goku, even if SSG does surpass all that. Presumably, Vegeta will also get SSG at some point in Super (if he goes Blueper later, I assume he went SSG first), so it is important to establish that they are both equally qualified for the title.

It is like saying, why kill Krillin to get Goku to become SSJ, couldn't they just have him be angry at Freeza in general? Don't we know he loves Krillin already from when Piccolo killed him that one time? Sure, but every situation is different, and makes the scene have more impact.

I guess I'm just getting tired of the whole "Aha, Vegeta pretends he doesn't care for his family + Goku but in reality he does, surprise!" shtick they've been pushing ever since the android arc. It's getting repetitive. The other scenes were well executed though, with Trunks' death setting Vegeta off, and Vegeta's sacrifice being a result of his own selfish actions and consequently him taking responsibility for it. This time, a mere slap which didn't even leave a mark on Bulma's face sets him off (and grants him a power increase over 4x)? Really? Are they taking the piss?

I think they could have gone over it in a much better way. Vegeta doesn't need to put up a good fight to show he loves Bulma. To keep going even when he's down and his attacks have no effect on Beerus would be more impressive, in my opinion.

Where did you get the x4 figure?

Given that Vegeta showing emotion scenes are like some of my favorite scenes in the series, it won't get old for me. Plus, all those scenes serve different purposes. One is to show Vegeta cares about anything at all (he didn't care about Bulma in the Cell arc), the other is that he cares about his family enough to realize he was being selfish and put their needs above his life. This last is that he cares about Bulma specifically in a more "knight in shining armor" way. If he *didn't* care, I think it would be counter to his characterization so far.

"To keep going even when he's down and his attacks have no effect on Beerus would be more impressive, in my opinion."

I think to show his attacks had no effect is to put Vegeta is the class of "fighters that are not keeping up anymore". They need to show him he is on a reasonable level with Goku even if Goku is a bit stronger, otherwise them training together with Whis later would not make sense.

I wouldnt have a problem with him getting angry at all, what I find cringy is him landing hits when SSJ3 couldnt, and Krillin dying was the only way to get Goku angry, is there really any other way to make him mad besides that? well killing Gohan would probably be the next best thing tho and that was a transformation needed for him to beat Frieza, while on Vegeta's case? what does it do? he goes rage boost and combo's the guy that baby shaked a SSJ3 form a Mystic form and Boo, its the worst PIS I have seen DB made just to please his fans and piss on the powerlevels. If he had a rage boost and didnt make Beerus flinch then yeah I'm ok with it but he made Beerus throw up blood (that is pushing it way too much)

Provided Vegeta was in SS2, it's a 4x boost to get equal to SS3. If he was in SS, then it's an even bigger increase.

I'm not saying he shouldn't care, I'm saying the power boost was unnecessary to establish the point they were trying to make, and it was just fanservice. Even Goku was useless against Beerus (which would also put him in the category of "fighters that are not keeping up anymore"; at least pre-ritual), making Vegeta the only one who could leave an impact without the SSG transformation is what didn't make sense. I'm sure nobody would doubt that if Goku could train with Whis, then Vegeta could too, seeing as how they were equals in the Boo arc. Having Vegeta surpass Goku prior to the God ritual makes the relationship between the two uneven.

As I mention before that Kai and BOG been on the web a year before they got officially released in the US and yet they did fine. It's new Dragon Ball and casuals who don't follow the series on the web super close like we do will still buy it. Dragon Ball will always sell well despite privacy.
You can't seriously be comparing the two. The amount of people who knew and owned those pirated GT VHS tapes with fansubs, and the amount of people who can just do a Google search and find every episode these days, is a huge difference. Most kids and people back in the day had to wait to watch GT. But not these days. I can find episodes from DB Super within days English Subtitled. I don't need Toonami anymore. TV has quite frankly been ruined by the internet. Anyone can find anything now. That's why in order for it to remain relevant, they need to release is ASAP. Waiting 2 years, everyone will have got tired of waiting and already watched every episode subbed.
Well by 2003, a lot of people had faster speed internet and didn't had to worry about dial-up. Dial-up became outdated after 1999 and wireless Internet became more mainstream by the early 2000's. You can argue that a person could have easily downloaded fan subs of GT on the web without watching it on Toonami or buying it on VHS & DVD back in 2003. When I was 12 back in 2003, I knew had to use Google to download episodes on the web with Windows Media Player. I don't see how things are different now. Maybe in 1996 - 1999 sure. After the 90's, the Internet became more mainstream and piracy always been a big issue on the web for decades.

Super will do just fine despite having fan subs on the web already. A lot of casuals (Funimation's main market) are going to wait for the show dubbed since I see a lot of people on the web saying that they can wait for it dubbed. I think everything will be okay in another year or two from now.

You have a very skewed understanding of high-speed internet rollout in the United States. The vast majority of the country did not mirror your experience.
