I just go off Toriyama's line saying he's free to change whatever.

It's stupid, but I'm not going to bend over backwards trying to make sense of such a stupid movie. But I'm not fond of people acting like this is completely normal. One movie having nonsensical battle powers doesn't mean every other product has the same thing.

Saw it last night. Considering how much I knew about it already, I am not surprised to say it didn't change my opinion of it. There was nothing new that came from watching it. So yeah, I might the right call when I believed it would be shit.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

"Yamcha didn't even fight and he still managed to die..."
I didn't realize this until I read it now. Hope in Super, they let Yamcha beat some soldiers.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

The only good thing about the movie for me today was that it was "date night" and the audience. Gf liked it, I hated it, and the audience had a mixed reaction but leaning towards positive. I actually.. started a mini one night only trend of "Gotenks can beat him' in the area because after Gohan got beat by Freeza. I shouted "WHERE'S GOTENKS" in annoyance (asshole move ik. I was told by my date) which not only had a theater laughing but random outburst by others of Gotenks can beat Freeza, SSGSS Goku, and Beerus .

I've already saw the movie beforehand so I knew it was terrible but I don't want more bashing so I'll talk about the fans. In my audience there was an extreme and awkward silences throughout the Z fighters vs Planet Trade Gang. It was shocking even with Roshi. As if they didn't care...or didn't buy it. Very odd. To me that was the only good part.

I fucking laugh my ass off in my head where this little kid asked his brother (or cousin.. Maybe father) why Gohan turn Ssj. There was a lot of awww for Piccolo and Pan which was cute I admit. Many were confused for Jaco and Tights. Kinda wish he wasn't just thrown in the movie.

Now my favorite part was Blue SSJ just for fan reaction. They well didn't like it xD. There was laughter when both Vegeta and Goku turn SSGSS. But many clapped for Golden Freeza which shocked me honestly. The fans loved the Goku vs Freeza fight which was roared of clapping and everyone standing up. The funny laser attack on Goku did not get ANY reaction shockingly. No even a gasp. Vegeta got the biggest ovation beating up Vegeta but when Earth blew up. Someone screamed "Fail" which got laugh out of everyone.

The ending though PISSED a lot of people off though. Goku time ain't popular here in Bmore  . It was an "Ahhh man really?" feel to it. The ending was kinda flat. And that's it. Audience only cared for Goku, Vegeta, and Freeza fighting so the first hour (?) was quiet .

Overall a cool experience.

I saw it last night, I thought it was good and very fun. All the character interactions and banter were great. Jaco was great.

The best fights were with Freeza's dudes though, there was some actual fighting instead of a laser show.

I'm still dumbfounded that they decided to exclude characters like Yamcha, 18, Goten, and Trunks from this movie, yet they had Master Roshi of all people participate in the fight despite the fact that he hasn't been relevant since the Piccolo Daimyo arc.

I thought it was nice to give Master Roshi a chance to shine after all this time, though I do agree Yamcha needs some love, and 18 finally needs to join the heroes in a battle.

I suppose it is cool that Roshi gets to fight alongside the Z-fighters(and yes I call them that), but it just seems odd that Toriyama decided to have him in the fight while not including characters like Yamcha and 18. They should have at least had 18 take part in the fight to prevent the whole thing from being a complete sausage fest.

But if 18 fights and effortlessly wastes the mooks, rather than the weaksauce trio showing up and having trouble fighting the mooks, who will make dinner for the men? I mean, Gohan, Vegeta, and Goku still have their respective wives, but what about Krillin, Roshi, and Tenshinhan?

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.

Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Just had a look through Twitter under the search for "Resurrection F" and I'm so happy that the majority seem to have positive things to say on the movie. A lot of people are describing it as "dope".

...but it all seems positive, so that's great.

Man, forget Roshi showing up, at least he had some funny scenes like destroying his own cane (and absolutely no pervert humour! amazing). The one that baffles me is Tenshinhan's inclusion.

He doesn't do shit.

No memorable lines, not involved in any gags, and his scenes are entirely "dodge a punch, throw a punch" except for using the same old Kikoho once. It just really stands out compared to the other characters, who all got some unique moments during that sequence. If he's not going to do anything, he really shouldn't have been included over... basically anyone else available.

Well I think London is pretty much guaranteed. They could pull a US and have just one screening a day across the UK, I am sure Cineworld/Odeon can manage that.

So who really wrote the script to this movie? Cause I hear Toriyama only wrote an outline for it.

Toriyama wrote it. The film follows what he wrote extremely close, with only minor changes being made for the final product.

If he truly wrote all the dialog for the movie, then I guess he's to blame for the whole Frieza Training To Power Level 1.3Million mess
