Freeza forgot about Future Trunks awfully quickly.

Don't know of this is a dub only line but the way Vegeta phrases things after turning Bluper Saiyan seems to imply Freeze doesn't know he can turn Super Saiyan. Something reinforced by his surprise when Gohan does it too. Yet Sorbet knows they beat Maijin Buu... Did he not tell Freeza ANYTHING remotely relevant about the current status of everyone's powers over the months Freeza trained?! Cause I'm pretty sure telling your boss he's got another guy who can potentially beat his ass up is kind of important.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

As much as I think people over defend the flaws of the modern DB animations....I gotta say this could make sense....for Sorbet anyways. Seeig what happened to Togoma,I can't believe he'd wanna say something to him like Vegeta surpassed his ass. But it doesn't make much sense how Frieza thought that since Goku beat Buu that Gohan wouldn't grow to ssj,or Vegeta. It's also Kinda weird ho he perfectly guestimated his power. You know? Like "Hmmm Majin buu is stronger then me....And goku is above hm...I can't sense Ki and have no idea how I stack up to buu" 4 months later: "Ok I'm now stronger then buu...or I'm still below him... I'm just gonna assume I'm above buu,but still call myself below Beerus simply because I magically know this."...seams really far fetched.ekrolo2 wrote:Don't know of this is a dub only line but the way Vegeta phrases things after turning Bluper Saiyan seems to imply Freeze doesn't know he can turn Super Saiyan. Eh. I bought it. Honestly, it makes perfect sense to me that Frieza would think: "OK. Goku's done. I've won. It's over. I have 0% chance of losing now." and start getting careless. He's done that before. He thought Vegeta would turn into a SSJ at best. Which, again, reinforeced the idea that he could do whatever he wanted at this point.SaiyanZ wrote:
I actually detetsted that moment about as much as Goku getting hit with a laser rifle. After all this talk about how he hates Goku for killing him and keeping him in Hell, Freeza is so enamored by Vegeta's supposed loyalty to him that he GIVES UP the chance to kill Goku himself?! And what was even worse was that the film was playing it up like Vegeta was going to kill Goku....EVERYONE knew that wasn't going to happen! Just didn't like that moment AT ALL.
To put it to bed, I think I would have done the exact same thing if I was in Frieza's shoes.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
I have a question. Is the Blue Super Saiyan God supposed to be more powerful than the Red Super Saiyan God?
I ask because, in the dub, they basically just say that this Ki is Goku's own. As if it turning "Red" was just a product of everyone else's Ki in BOG.
Before seeing the film, I heard a lot of fans dub the new form "Super Saiyan God 2". So I always assumed it was "next level". But in the film, Goku's level is pretty much identical to his level during his fight with Beerus in BOG.
What do you guys think?

Just watched the english dub. Freeza's a joy to listen to, they did a great job with the script.

Anyone else think they had Freeza take Gohan out in one punch in this movie as a throwback to this?

Well he's definitely around the same level, but the film makes it clear Goku's new form is stronger then the last 1. Two things I wanna make clear to you my friend,in case you didn't know.foxfang4 wrote:I have a question. Is the Blue Super Saiyan God supposed to be more powerful than the Red Super Saiyan God?

1. Don't listen to those fans dubbing it ssjgod 2. Those are the same people saying goku's base = ssjgod and the new form takes that power and makes it 50x stronger. that's completely wrong.
2. goku did grow,he was once roughly 70% the power of beerus, but he isn't up to his level yet,but he did grow. he's anywhere between 71%-99%. People just gotta guestimate. I think it's kinda dumb he's still below Beerus honestly. I hope super fixes that. ya know?

Beerus used 70% of his power during the fight, which was stronger than Goku's max. This jives with Toriyama's strength numbers of Whis being a 15, Beerus being a 10 and Goku being a 6. So Goku was only 60% of Beerus' power in Battle of Gods.

Freeza's not the problem, Sorbet is. If he's already monitoring the planet how the hell is it remotely possible that he didn't see that Vegeta is close to Goku's level and tell Freeza about it? They've clearly had the planet under surveillance for at least a good while seeing as they knew about Earths Dragon Balls right off the bat. So if he's already spying on everyone, how did he not know about any of their powers and tell Freeza about it? I know Freeza is another in the long line of DB characters who's got a serious case of the CFI (complete f*cking idiot) syndrome, but SURELY Sorbet would have one one thousandth of a brain cell function long enough to tell Freeza "Yo boss! Vegeta's a God too! Might wanna keep an eye on him y'know?".foxfang4 wrote:Eh. I bought it. Honestly, it makes perfect sense to me that Freeza would think: "OK. Goku's done. I've won. It's over. I immediately thought that Vegeta must have only activated his "God Form" while at Whis/Beerus realm. It's that simple. And it makes complete sense. Like, my first thought seeing Vegeta power up was: "Oh yeah. There's no way Sorbet would have known about this if they were with Whis doing this training."ekrolo2 wrote:Freeza's not the problem, Sorbet is. That could potentially be a good explanation but I seriously doubt Vegeta would only ever use it while in the Whis/Beerus realm. I can see him boasting about it to the others and practicing with it by himself in the gravity chamber while on Earth. Then again, the way they handle the surveillance itself is never really explained but I assume its pretty up close and personnel if Sorbet can 100% with certainty say they've beaten Majin Buu, an event that largely went unnoticed by anyone not on Earth, Namek or the Kai World.foxfang4 wrote:I immediately thought that Vegeta must have only activated his "God Form" while at Whis/Beerus realm. I take it as Gohan is the strongest among the people on earth (Shocked he ain't weaker than Piccolo yet), so taking him down would instil the most fear among the Z team. If Freeza can one shot the most powerful warrior the group has atm, then they all are really screwed.bleed0range wrote:Anyone else think they had Freeza take Gohan out in one punch in this movie as a throwback to this?
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Actually the only thing that disappointed me about this movie was how they treated Gohan. He went from five years ago being the strongest person on Earth, to getting one-shotted by first form Freeza. Guess he's gonna get left in the dust soon along with Piccolo.

More screenings have been scheduled for Australia and New Zealand:
http://www.dragonballz.com.au/cinemas
My city hasn't even had its first round of showings yet.
The real kicker is that they're only giving out posters in one NZ location this year, and it's the same theatre that's also getting subtitled screenings. I've exchanged emails with Madman and they said they might be able to show the Japanese version in one of the smaller screens at my theatre, so fingers crossed. As for getting my hands on a poster, they told me to try and negotiate with the movie theatre over one of their lobby ones.
Oh, and for the record...both screenings in my city are heading for near sell-outs. This is what the cinema looks like:

Absolutely love it. Words can't describe how pleased I am that it's there and not here, like BOG was:

Apologies for the bad photo. It's the only one I could find.

Most Dragon Ball fans are incapable of making a logically sound argument.

This movie was simply terrible, can Akira just leave Dragonball as it is? Stop making a series that was inherently bad, by making it even more bad.
