I'm really hoping Yahoo Japan bringing attention to it means something. I also still think part of the bad quality is due to Episode of Sabo. If they announce a new One Piece movie at this year's Jump Festa, the Universe 6 arc for Super is screwed.
Dragon Ball Super has already been screwed the day it was announced that Toei is the one producing it. 90's Toei of DB and DBZ was good but now.... God help us.
90s DBZ from Toei had animation way worse that what Super has been producing in many episodes. Hell, you wanna see the worst of Toei when dealing with Dragon Ball, just check out DBZ Movie 6.

I guess it finally took it happening to Dragon Ball to get people fully aware of the modern "Toei Curse". Let's hope what happened here is they rushed scenes to get them to TV on time, and they'll fix them up later for the home release like they did Sailor Moon Crystal. This is actually a fairly common practice now, I remember it happening to Attack on Titan and Madoka Magica.

But Madoka and Titan are late-night super-niche anime series; don't they go by different rules than stuff that airs in general audiences time slots? I don't know.
On hiatus.

Madoka Magica sure, but Attack on Titan was a huge hit in Japan, boosting the manga sales so much that it rivaled One Piece, and was a huge hit in the US too from what I heard.

There's a chance Super episode 5's animation could be fixed for the home release? That would be perfect!

The damage has already been done, though. "What has been seen cannot be unseen". But seriously, most people are discussing this as this was the end of Dragonball. I guess there had to be already some build-up to these reactions, it can't just because the - granted - horrible animation of episode 5. But are people really thinking there's even a remote possibility they'll cancel Dragonball or that it will stop running in the short/medium-term because of this (and possibly a few other) horribly animated episodes? That's not all there is to it. There's storyline, there's character background. The visuals don't need to be incredibly fantastic all the time, but they certainly won't always be like they were most of the time in episode 5. If we were willing to put up with about one EXTREMELY badly animated episode in every 5 or 6 in the 80's and 90's during DB and DBZ's run, then we must be willing to "put up" with one badly animated episode in every 6 or 7 in DBSuper. No point in arguing and especially COMPLAINING about it anymore, it won't do any good and will only generate a wave of negativity over a series which has started running just a little over a month ago. The entire thing about official complaints and petitions is ridiculous, give it some time, calm down and look forward to what's coming. Have some belief in what they're doing. Is everybody's fandom really that weak that all it takes is one badly animated episode for people to start "threatening" to drop the series altogether? Utterly ridiculous.

What was redone on Attack on Titan and specifically Madoka was a lot more intensive from what I remember, but here's some examples of what happened with Sailor Moon. http://kotaku.com/the-new-sailor-moon-a ... 1670373950
This show was done by Toei and if we follow that standard, there's a chance at least some of the super derpy scenes will get touched up a little.

When should we expect the first set of home releases? Buu Kai's first set came out 5 months after it aired so would be correct in assuming for Super that it'd be some time around December?

The Sailor Moon stuff didn't look half as bad as Super episode 5. The episode looks so bad that I wouldn't be surprised if a rough "work print" copy of the episode which is used for timing the voice recordings, sound effects, and music got mixed up with the final product and aired by mistake.

At this moment of time, I would be more excited for a new One Piece movie than the U6 arc.

More like the entire world. If this subject appears in the news, than Toei crossed the line.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

That would be really interesting if true. I wonder if they'd air the theoretical final product in the prefectures that are still behind on Super.
On hiatus.

Never underestimate Toei

They did fix most of the biggest offenders for DVD/Blu-Ray release, but the bad stench stayed nonetheless

I don't think you understand. An anime can LOOK bad, like DBZ has on multiple occasions. But even when it looks its WORST, at least it still has flowing animation. It's not as stiff as a damn rock. This is hands down the most stiff, and most disgusting episode of Dragon Ball I've ever seen. Again, yes, there have been some poor episodes of Z. But at least they weren't horridly stiff. This on the other hand... My God.

To be fair, the SS2 fight had fluid scenes and the SS3 part of the fight was very fluid the whole way through. The animation being stiff can only apply to the SS part of the fight and some parts of the SS2 portion.

Just read somewhere , Toei is somehow cracking down or taking down the live streams of Super . So this means no live stream of episodes , if so , we can't watch episode 6 and onwards now ?

If it happens, I can be patient, I'd just prefer not to have to be.

Stopping piracy is impossible. Just will not happen.

Well. Hope so. Even if Toei takes down all the live streams. People might find a way to watch it. Even if live stream is stopped , episode will come online nah ?
