For folk in the UK growing impatient for more news from Manga UK, it shouldn't be too far off now.
Manga keep teasing it on their twitter feed, so with a bit of luck we'll be getting dates and screening info at some point within the next week. They did say "1-2" weeks a few days ago, but I think they'll want to get it up in good time to give people time to pre-book for the September release.

1. I disliked how Frieza was brought back, 'trained' for four months and instantly became one of the powerful warriors of U7. Training for 4 months was ridiculous aswell.
2. What did Frieza achieve in this film? Nothing, yes he did destroy Earth (even though Whis just looped back time) thus his actions were useless.
3. I didn't like how Goku came off as an over confident douchebag and how he has forgotten all the things Mr Popo taught him back in Dragonball.
4. Forced tension, Frieza could have easily killed the Z-warriors, but instead he was simply waiting for Goku, why? Goku and Vegeta could have easily destroyed Frieza but nope...
5. Vegeta's chance of defeating Frieza was robbed, would have been better if he defeated Frieza instead (due to his history with Frieza), but nope, let's have Goku save the day...
6. Yamcha and the other characters getting the shaft (but they brought in Muten Roshi... don't get me wrong, I liked that Muten Roshi actually did something for once ever since his role in Dragonball but they had to omit Yamcha, Android 18, Goten, Trunks and Majin Buu which was ridiculous,
7. Kamiccolo getting defeated by Shisami...
8. Goku getting defeated by a laser.
9. I dislike the existence of SSGSS and how it looks, do we really need more palettes?
10. The ending, it's pretty much self explanatory (anticlimactic)
11. Frieza dying again.
12. I still don't understand why they made this movie with this plot, there was no threat.
14. Not enough Vegeta, they could have revived Cold and had him deal with Vegeta
15. Movie got into the action a little too quickly for my liking
16. What has this film achieved? Other than the SSGSS form and Goku and Vegeta being Whis apprentice ?
17. Frieza as character has been ruined, treated like a pest as opposed to a 'threat'
18. This film could have been avoided.
19. Gohan's role. Getting knocked out by First form Frieza.
20. Frieza's stamina problems (get rid of this plot device, we already seen this in the Namek saga)
21. PIS and CIS being rampant
22. Change the name of SSGSS, it's such a stupid name
23. No explanation on how SSGSS was obtained.
I'm expecting a lot of changes for this arc in DBS (hopefully, the film had a lot of problems).

I will say, looking over your points I do respectfully disagree with each and every one of them, but that's what is the beauty of opinions -- we're all entitled to our own as to what makes something good or bad. The only one I can sort of agree with is 3, but then again I base the series, movies, etc. off of the original Japanese. I'm not sure if Schemmel's version of Goku was any more "douchey" than Masako as far as the lines went and if they were translated 100% to show Goku's personality. Of course, once Son completely obliterates this version of Freeza, who we clearly understand WHY he is obsolete in his new form given to us via a wonderful explanation through Bejita (which hopefully is the same in the original Japanese -- pin pointing home that he is a mastermind at battle), I can understand Goku's undermining tone and telling Freeza to "pack it up and go home, live to fight another day."
But, again, my previous comment was childish and not necessary to the topic of this thread, or even the purpose of this entire forum. I apologize to you, TheDBZMaster100.

Join the club man. I'm not happy about the main hero fighters being shafted since the Saiyan arc. I actually take joy seeing the Saiyan protagonists get embarrassed like that since they never did in the original manga. It's about time.funrush wrote:Actually the only thing that disappointed me about this movie was how they treated Gohan. He went from five years ago being the strongest person on Earth, to getting one-shotted by first form Freeza. Guess he's gonna get left in the dust soon along with Piccolo.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
I watched the movie this weekend, and I will say that I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would, even found myself laughing at times with Bulma and Jaco's interactions with each other. Jaco himself was a great f'n character in this movie and just solidifies how much I enjoyed his manga. Probably my favorite parts of the film are his interactions with the characters.
I've seen a lot of points for and against the movie. I honestly didn't have any problems with it. Thought it was great, and knowing what we know now, sets us up for a more detailed re-telling in Dragon Ball Super.
Some opinions of my own:
Freeza gaining that much strength in just 4 months wasn't an issue for me as well. Just because it's stated to be fact that he's a prodigy, which can allow him to become stronger much quicker. It doesn't make it perfect, though, as we soon find out he rushed himself over to Earth to prove himself as quick as possible to "show off" and kill Goku and Future Trunks. We saw the same thing with Future Trunks when facing Cell after Bejita gets KO'ed. He used that Ultra SSJ form without realizing the draw backs of it, then realized he was completely and utterly
'ed in the end. Except, Freeza is portrayed as a holier than thou, egotistical, childish creature who can't understand why he isn't just "the best" with the minimal effort he's put in. That's honestly how I've seen him since the very beginning and would expect that attitude, if not a worse one, after actually putting in any effort at all into his "training." And, reminiscent to the end of the Freeza Arc, Goku gives him a chance to leave and come back when he's perfected himself / gotten stronger -- but he's so full of himself that he can't bring himself to tuck his tail between his legs and do that. He'd rather use his trump card -- which is a cheap shot.
As far as the argument of "How is everyone (mainly Piccolo and Gohan) so damn weak vs Freeza" .. I can only think of really one thing. The type of training being done. We know Piccolo has been training, but with who? And how effective is that training vs what Goku and Bejita are doing when they, on several occasions, visit Whis (behind Beerus' back apparently)? I'm pretty sure he isn't training with Gohan, who I'm definitely sure has not been training at all, a major reason why his Ultimate / Mystic / whatever you want to call it power up has fizzled out (yes, I am one of those people that believes the power up is not a permanent thing and needs to be trained to be maintained). Piccolo also couldn't be training with Goten or Trunks, as they were being hidden away for fear of getting involved in the fight (which implies they are still weaker than Piccolo separately) as they've probably been off doing their own thing and may find Piccolo to be too bossy, or something. And even if Kamesennin had been training in secret, I don't see Piccolo interacting with him in that regard (he has Daimao's memories .. the whole Mafuba thing could still be a sore spot, or he just doesn't see him as a great training partner).
All in all, great film. Interested to see how they'll "fill in the blanks" when this gets re-told via Super.

One of the Battle of Gods interviews, I can't remember which one. I'll hunt it down later (unless anyone knows which one off the top of their head).Sayo-chan wrote:Where did he give those numbers?TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Beerus used 70% of his power during the fight, which was stronger than Goku's max. This jives with Toriyama's strength numbers of Whis being a 15, Beerus being a 10 and Goku being a 6. So Goku was only 60% of Beerus' power in Battle of Gods.

It was the "Akira Toriyama-sensei Godly Interview" from the Battle of Gods Film Anime Comic:Captain Space wrote:One of the Battle of Gods interviews, I can't remember which one. I'll hunt it down later (unless anyone knows which one off the top of their head).
Akira Toriyama wrote:I suppose if Beerus' strength is a 10, [Super Saiyan] God would be right about 6. Only, Saiyans rapidly increase in strength as they fight against strong opponents, so the longer they fought, the more that gap would shrink, and it might even be possible for them to eventually turn the tables. Incidentally, I guess Whis would be about a 15.

Just cam back from the movie an hour ago, and I absolutely love it. Brilliant fight sequences, great humor, and a superb english dub. The music's pretty good too! I think the ending's disappointing but it's nothing to lose sleep over. The two new forms are cool for what they are, though I wish we saw more of them to get a sense of their power. Now the animation is okay overall. I didn't like how the CG was handled, since it was painfully obvious when the animation shifts. Plus, when there aren't details in the characters, they just look strange (but maybe that's the consequence of digital animation in DBZ). But even with these flaws, Resurrection F was very enjoyable.
Before I go though, I want to talk about two things: this movie's effect on the DBZ canon and THAT scene.
BTW, I got 9/10 questions right in the pre show, with the incorrect question being the one about how many planets Freeza has conquered. Has it ever been stated that it's 79?

I just wanted to say that I loved this movie a lot more than Battle of Gods. NOTHING AGAINST BOG!
I love BOG
I loved Jaco's moments in this new movie a lot! I love the battle between Goku and Freeza again(Freeza is my favorite villain)
I loved seeing all the characters actually be relevant and actually help out!
I laughed a lot at a lot of scenes in this movie
I can't wait to buy it on Bluray. I wished I had enough money to get the Collectors Edition
Also Since I watched the dub first I really can't wait to watch it in Japanese.
Love love love the new movie!

It's been stated as "hundreds" in guidebooks, but "Freeza #79" is both the highest we get an official number on as well as actually see in the series.SMKirbyZX wrote:BTW, I got 9/10 questions right in the pre show, with the incorrect question being the one about how many planets Freeza has conquered. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
This is mostly copy-pasted from my tumblr where I've already written my "review" (more accurately, totally unorganized thoughts) of the movie:
I saw the movie with a bunch of awesome friends on Saturday and, I gotta say, I really liked it. Definitely not perfect, but extremely satisfying all the same.
And god damn, Chris Ayres as Frieza was so good in this movie. I know a lot of us appreciated/loved him in Kai, but I just have to express that his performance here was phenomenal.
Plenty of solid animation. A fair handful of some not-so-solid animation, but overall the movie looked nice.
I didn’t get to see Battle of Gods in the theater, so I’m really happy I made it to this one. Hearing that brief snippet of Cha-La Head Cha-La through the theater sound system gave me chills. I was geeking out about it with a friend afterwards.
The rest of this is pretty spoiler-heavy so read at your own risk:
On the whole, this movie was not as original and “fresh” as Battle of Gods, but I honestly liked it more. Frieza is one of my favourite villains ever, I found the more dialogue-driven humour a lot funnier than the more slapstick/goofball gags of Battle of Gods (Whis stepping in poop notwithstanding), and there was a lot of eye-candy action going on.
One of the friends I went with had not seen Battle of Gods (I didn't know until the movie was starting) so I was worried he'd be lost. He did seem slightly confused at first, but there's enough of a bare minimum exposition with Beerus and Whis that he wasn't completely hopeless. Afterwards, he, and my entire group, seemed very pleased with the movie all the same.
