New Sparking Neo characters and stage confirmed as:

Post by Humpski » Thu Dec 21, 2006 11:05 am

2 Frieza henchmen
and the Planet Vegeta.

I was saying all along that the new characters will just be Frieza henchmen because they already had the models made for them (Bardock cutscenes). I always wondered why they didn't do this before instead of making us fight 5 Cui's. They also modeled Babidi for cutscenes though, maybe he'll be a new character as well?

That Planet Vegeta stage looks like it rocks though!

The two characters will only really benefit Bardock's story and the first part of the Frieza saga....the planet Vegeta stage does look great though!

I just realized they yanked the new stage from the same cutscene. Haha.
I knew they wouldn't put too much effort into new content for one specific region's release.

Yeah I noticed that... they added the pictures to the game's official website. I had a small feeling that this would happen. I'm not disappointed that the two henchmen are in or the space stage... but I feel jipped that they ARE NOT in the original game. It would have made it so much better... :?

They look like a variation of the characters Gohan and Krillin beat on Namek (the ones who destroyed the ship). God, these games are running out of steam..I'm adding more stupid characters in the other thread..

I can't read the Japanese but it seems like there are codes with the characters.
Is it already possible to activate them or are these there already for future reference in the Wii version?

We don't get Dr. Wheelo, Garlic Jr's henchmen, Slug's henchmen, the other androids, but we get these 2?

Give us the damn farmer for crying out loud. :?

It's funny that they're just using what was already in the game (engine)

I mean if anyone goes back and plays through Budokai 1's Story Mode, you will see about 100 (seriously) character models that were never used (as either characters or alt costumes) in playable form throughout the 4 Budokai games that exist.

I actually have a list of the B1 models somewhere, I'll try and find it if someone wants to see it.

I knew it. XD Oh well, let's hope that at least one of the four remaining characters will be worthwhile.

Yay, Appule! :D

Mike'll be happy.

And the Vegeta stage looks great.

I'm kinda PO'd that they weren't in the original, but whatever...

Enough crappy henchmen already, if they ever put all of Slug's henchmen and the rest of Coola's, that'll just prove that they've completely ran out of any worthwhile ideas.

So, I'm assuming that these two crappy, lazy ass characters will be in the Australian and Japanese version of Sparking NEO for Wii? Where's the other 4 characters? Also, are those codes under their names supposed to mean something? Possibly to unlock them at all in the game?

Hm... Interesting

This is actually pretty cool, It'll definatly be better than fighting Kewi a million times. And I like that you can fight Freeza in space now rather than on Namek.

The other four characters will probably be ones that they already have models for as well, so lets think who we saw...

Elder Kaioshin
Babidi
Baba
Karin-sama
Kaiô-sama
Mr. Popo

I think that's about it.

So if we got any of those guys it would certainly be interesting to say the least.

I doubt he'll buy the PAL Australian Wii release just for Appule. I mean, it's as he's said, the game's story bores him to no end and he's already bought the Japanese Ps2 release (as well as the North American Wii version, I believe). Even Mike isn't that hardcore about collecting, from what I know.

That Planet Vegeta stage does look awesome, it's a real shame the North American Ps2 release couldn't have had it, especially since it came out a month after the Japanese release. Though making the Z warriors fight in space, that should prove an interesting "how long can they hold their breath" scenario (anyone remember Superman 4 where Supes rescues that blonde woman in outer space and then let's her die in Earth's atmosphere, duh-duh duh!). I'm kinda wondering what they'll call the old unnamed scout of Freeza's, Appule has a name, but this other guy..."Impaled Scout"?

Mutha-fuckin' Appule!

It's just like I was saying in the other thread... there's no way they were developing things exclusively for the European Wii release. It's all about the Japanese Wii release, and since the European one isn't out yet, they're just going ahead and basing it off of the Japanese one.

If a Wii Freeloader disc comes out, I'll actually be retarded and play through the game again on the Wii in Japanese. And you can all hear me whine about it. Again. :)

Yes, I will pay $70 to play as Appule.

Well, their character models were in the game already. I don't see how that would be hard to rig...
