DB kai was always on top 10 and most people already knew everything about Z.
I doubt a new series that people barely know anything will flop in these rankings.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

terrible ratings this week.. come on guys this is a new series after 18 years.. we can´t be happy with those ratings,we can´t be happy with a new series getting the same Kai ratings,we should be on par with one piece at least.. i am kinda disappoint with the japanese people.. i think they really don´t care too much about the new Dragon ball anime.. maybe i'm wrong, because if that´s true,we are seeing a new GT..

I'm not happy. GT part aside, I said the same thing some pages ago.
Its definitely stupid, that a new series in 18 years is having the same ratings than a poor remaster like Kai. But that's how things are.

If it hadn't been a Pilaf heavy episode I would have thought it was a poor drop from last week. Seeing as it is I can imagine maybe a lot of the older fans probably couldn't care less about it so skipped it.

We'll see what the DVR ratings are though.

I expect the next episode to see better ratings if it's the first real fight in the series.

It hasn't done bad at all to be honest, I was expecting worse than this.
I'm hoping the next episode will have the best ratings so far, it's the first truly important episode. :)

The ratings are probably low this week because of Pilaf, and because they're adapting the movies that everybody saw already, except with a slower pace (which is why the Pilaf stuff was boring to some).

Episode 5 should have an increase.

That´s what only matters :)
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

That isn't how it tends to work. Sure, some episodes such as season premieres, finales and 'event' episodes are billed up more heavily than others and subsequently benefit from higher overnights, but the correlation between viewership figures and the quality of content is usually felt in subsequent weeks following weak content as opposed to on the poor episode itself. It's a little bit like thinking that the Super Bowl will get terrible ratings if the game is boring. The spectacle itself draws a large audience figure before a ball is thrown.

You kinda did, the next episode preview told you the episode was going to be centered around Pilaf with all the clips shown and the title itself.

Just like we know episode #5 is gonna have Beerus vs Goku and it's gonna take a significant part of the episode.

If I was less interested in Super, I know I'd be more inclined to skip an episode advertised as Pilaf Gang intro version 2. And it was advertised as that, and previewed. I partly think the reason this episode got the creative art director was Toei knew it wasn't as big a draw plot-wise and they needed a hook to get people to watch. I liked their BOG intro, but Super's felt weaker.

Wow, that is a drop, but not nearly as big as Precure's drop from last week; there's also still the DVR data to wait on.

I just want at the least for it to do well enough where we can go through the Uni 6 arc at a normal pace. I don't wanna drag through reBOG and reF and then rush through Uni 6 ala the last arcs of GT. @_@

The Koshien aired this week, which is why PreCure was down.

That's not great unless there's a reason for it. This was supposed to be an action packed episode too. Maybe the Pilaf episode put people off or maybe people just don't care to see what they've already seen in the movies.

I wonder if this represents a decline in interest or just statistical noise. Perhaps the child portion of the audience got tired of waiting for the action to happen in the previous 4 episodes and didn't bother tuning in this week?

Or a chunk of viewers changed the channel in disgust upon seeing the art/animation, but that seems less likely.
