I think Cacarrot is probably best. But I never call him anything but Gokuu, so I don't much care.

Which reminds me, what is up with Japanese fans referring to SSJ Gokuu as Kakarotto? I don't see the logic in it. After all, he makes a point of saying "Suupaa Saiyajin Son Gokuu da!!!!!" If five exclamation points isn't definitive, I don't know what is.

Also, why did Bulma have a time machine in movie 13? In case she didn't realise, in that timeline the androids were dead. :P

PS: I too agree with the sword thing. So BRING IT ON!!!
Wait, whuh? They weren't dead. ._.;; They seemed very much alive to me.

Maybe she got bored? Geniuses are strange people, y'know.

P.S. What side are you agreeing on? *sharpens his kunai*

Throughout movie 12 Goku and Vegeta are dead. Goku's fighting in the afterlife tourny, and Vegeta's in Hell.

I'm sorry but this is actually fairly obvious and extremely difficult to miss. They got the halos, Goku says to Vegeta "but Vegeta, you're already dead!" when he tells Goku he'd rather die than fuse with him. Someone help me out here.

I was agreeing with you on the sword thing. That's why I said "bring it on". To B-kun's threat.

*blinks* I think you must've phrase something oddly.. Either that or I misinterpreted you. You said they were dead after the Buu Saga like, well.. they were actually dead after the Buu Saga. Even though they were restored to life. I think that's where I got confused...

Gaaaaah, Dragon Ball and its fans are so fuckin' frustrating.

Well, I don't think there are many other people who insist on calling him "Kakarrot" when talking about the main protagonist of Dragon Ball. But the name does come up in conversation. So, er, yeah.

I actually wouldn't go with "Cacarrot" for two reasons. One, it looks like it would be a different pronounciation (literally "kah-carrot, rather than "Kack-a-rot"), and two, it looks bloody stupid.

Six eclamation points.

Ooh, that's an idea. Any other interesting/stupid things the Japanese fans do? We hear enough about the Western fans, so it'd be nice to hear that the homeboys can be just as daft.

I meant what I said as I said it. It's just that movie 12 takes place after Boo but before they were wished back. Obviously that's not possible, so I say 12 doesn't take place in regular time.

At least we're not Vegots. :D

Like I said, it's your phrasing that confused me. You made me think you were saying they were dead in the canon storyline.

And, to clear up what I said, DB and the fans are frustrating in the sense that the fans will take the SLIGHTEST line or misdrawing and turn it into, and I know this hasn't happened yet, a 50 page topic.

Confusion:

"What about Goku and Vegeta being dead after the Buu saga?"

B-kun possibly thinks this means: "Goku and Vegeta were dead after the Buu saga, therefore the movie is wrong."

Dayspring actually means: "If the movie is set after the Buu saga, how come Vegeta and Goku are still dead?"

Yeah, that's more or less it. Though, now that I know what he meant, I see it now.

Sensei! You do love me!!*gushing like Haku would about Zabuza* :D Yeah! I'll still one day get to valiantly throw myself in front of a horrible attack that's meant for you in "classic anime fashion" and die happy knowing that I protected sensei Dayspring!

Liam, you're right that Kacarrot just doesn't look good, which is weird because I normally agree with TripleRach.

And the Japanese do seem to have a problem with exclamation points don't they? There always in titles.

._.;;; I had Piccolo's first death scene playing through my head while reading that. Odd.

EDIT: Holy crap, I'm on 191 posts? How'd this happen?

Huh, I guess it means that I really do like these boards. I'm not nearly this talkative on others.

Okay, I get it now. X_X To be honest, I didn't know much about the movie in the first place. Most of it is what I got off Greg's site.

 I seem to have started a bit of a debate... Personally I spell Goku's Saiya-jin name as either Kakkarotto (which is phonetically correct, at leas to my ears. Kahk ka rot toe (i.e. Brolly's pronounciation in the Japanese movie 8, I just like the sound of it.)) Or Kakarotto. But normally I use the former.

As for the movies, IMO only movies 5, 6, and 7 could be part of the actual progression of the series. Albiet 7 being in the time-line Trunks was in without the presence of Cell.

Regarding the saiyan name of Goku, I think both are fine. Although the Kakkarotto name makes more sense as it explains where the TO in Vegetto comes from.

As for the movies, I don't think movie 5 could of happened. Gokuu was on Planet Yardrat at the time. Notice Gohan's hair style, it's the same one he had on Namek. If that movie happen around that time it would make more sense as it looked like he couldn't change into a super saiyan at will. (Which goes along with what the series stated)

Movie 6, it's best not to take seriously. Dende being the guardian of earth suggests it would be around Cell games, but Gohan can't go super saiyan in this and his look suggests it being in the Andriod saga. Plus since Goku/Vegeta didn't go USSJ it gives more weight that it happened in the Andriod saga.

The only movies I think that can work in the Dragonball timeline is movie 9 and 13. Maybe movie 8 and 10 could in fit in aswell.

Maybe it happens during the time after Vegeta blows himself up against Buu, then Goku returns (briefly) to the after life?
