Anime/Manga scene comparisons

Post by Lord Beerus » Fri Aug 14, 2015 8:07 am

Just some really neat videos which display a comparison of how certain panels of the manga were adapted in the anime and what scenes were thrown by the amine specifically or altered. I thought the were pretty cool. And just as added bonus, the videos feature Kikuchi's score that accompanied the scene in the anime specifically.

Goku takes Bulma's Panties off

Goku vs. Vegeta

Goku' SSJ Transformation

Gohan's SSJ2 Transformation

All credits goes to marotaku25

So how do you think certain scenes from the manga compare to how they were adapted in the anime?

I'm glad the comedically bulged out eyes from when Cell crushes 16s head was cut out, its just too goofy for a scene that's supposed to be deadly serious.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

These are awesome, thanks for sharing.

I've noticed for awhile now how stiff and simplistic the anime is when compared to the manga. The anime truly stripped a lot of the artwork of its charm. In every single comparison you see just how much more dynamic and stylish the comic is. That being said I know it's common place to simplify art for time and budgetary reasons. Having a direct comparison is incredibly useful to see how much more rigid the cartoon comes off.

I constantly forget how absolutely beautiful Path to Power looks. Best animation in Dragon Ball yet.

Nice comparisons too, thanks for sharing. I always prefer the manga, except for the major transformations, I think the anime makes them a lot more dramatic.

Cool videos. Thanks for sharing.

I'm going to have to go with the manga, though. My main problem with some of the anime scenes (not just these but a lot) is the awkward pacing. Some things just seem way to drawn out / prolonged to the point of awkwardness. I also prefer the manga's consistent art style. Sometimes the anime comes out just weird looking, due to the animator.
