Dragon ball evolution was bottom of the hill for the franchise but battle of gods and RoF have not just revived the franchise but took it to the top of the hill, RoF is DBZ's most money making movie and DBS has been fleshing out characters and comes with a good music intro, fight scenes weren't top notch but neither were Z's. I could leave the room for five minutes to get myself a drink and yet characters are still staring and brooding. Whilst DBS fights haven't had a moment like goku becoming ssj for first time yet, the series doesn't feel time consuming.
Though the stability of the series is owed much to the internet ie: youtube with fight clips and T4S etc to keep interest going.
Are BoG and RoF dragging the series downhill?

Re: Are BoG and RoF dragging the series downhill?
More good came from DBE then bad. It made Toriyama want to return to the series after 15 years later when the manga was finished. Not to mention DBE bombed at the box office, so no one really saw it expect for the people that went ahead to see it. The only people who bitch about DBE are the fans while most people pretty much forgotten that it even exist. It's not like Batman & Robin where it almost killed the comic book movie genre and put the series on hold for almost a decade.
The only downside to DBE is that ruined the chances of Dragon Ball ever getting another live action movie being made again.
