Shin Budokai 2?

Post by Nyoibo » Sun Dec 24, 2006 11:24 am

Gamestop have recently posted the following entry:

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?coo ... Fid=190392

It's scheduled for next March. Anyone knows anything about this new game?

Thanks for the heads-up. Just updated with the news.

As I said on the main page, we first learned about the original Shin Budokai through a Gamestop.com listing... not through any gaming or anime magazines, be they American or Japanese. With that being said, I think there's a really good chance this is legit.

Cool, hopefully it will have the same engine as Budokai 3. With more characters. Too bad I probably won't be getting a PSP anytime soon.

How much does anyone wanna bet that this game is going to have the Sparking engine. :x

I have a friend who said he was "reading on this game".

Features?

It should have the same, fighting engine as the budokai series.

-Takes place during the final DBZ movie, movie 13.

-More charecters and levels.

Thats what he told me. Take this as a grain of salt..I'll ask him where he got his info from.

If it's possible, i'll try and get a hold of Atari also.

The game IS coming out though. I can promise you that.

Damn, why does the PSP keep getting these DBZ games? I have no plans of getting a PSP and doubt i ever will but the first one looked sweet and now they're going to slap me in the face with a second one too? Oh well, a shame there's like nothing else on the PSP interesting me.

I wonder if this one will be based on a movie like the first one who was based on movie 12.

DBZ-Guy took the words right out of my mouth. I hate hand held consoles, and the only reason I bought the gameboy DBZ games is because I have a device that allows me to play them on the GameCube.

If they designed one that would allow me to play PSP on PS2 I would be sold, but I find it hard to justify a $200 glorified GameBoy.

there's a device that allows you to play PSP games on a computer monitor or TV. is that good enough for you?

anyway, i am going to obtain through other means. i like the first one but really thought they coulda done more. the first game was barely 300-400mb. they can afford to fit in more stuff to the game.

I don't know why everyone hates the PSP. It has a lot more potential than the DS in my opinion. :?

Nope, it's not. I've looked into said device, and it's a third party peripheral that requires you to dissasemble your PSP and perform light soldering.

Even if the thought of voiding my warranty and potentially destroying a $200 peice of equipment out of the box didn't scare me away, there's still the problem that the device displays the picture on your television at a lower resolution, at the wrong aspect ratio. That is frankly unacceptable to me.

Maybe if I hold out they'll release a special port version for both games on the PS2, like they did with GTA: Liberty City Stories.

I agree with some of the above. The PSP's way too pricy for me and I'd rather have a ps2 port.

The last thing we need is another Ps2 game, I believe we already have 7 or 8 released within the past 4 years to tie us over? Possibly if there was a Ps2 compact port of Shin Budokai 2 and all the Ps1 games, then that'd definitely be a worthy release, I agree there. On topic, I suppose the constant release of DBZ games proves the point that DBZ is all Atari is mainly thriving on. I mean, with the exception of the first Budokai and Super DBZ, it seems like they're just rushing game after game to the public as fast as possible to the point where it's now seeming ridiculous IMO. But mainly that just regards the Ps2 releases, at least with the PsP's Shin Budokai and the Legacy of Goku work on the GBA, there's time and true thought put into them, unlike slapping the same story mode we've played 5 times over with a slightly new tweak here, there, and 15 more characters there.

Anyone else see where I'm going with this? No more Ps2 games, unless it's a friggin' compact of previous SNES or Ps1 games, just move on to the Wii and Ps3! While I'm not buying a Ps3 anytime in the future, I do have plans for a Wii. My rambling is done.

If it is, then my money's on movie 13. Which would actually be pretty cool, because then we might get a chance to play as Hildegarn's first form.
There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

I don't think basing a game on Movie 13 would be as cool as the one on Movie 12. Since it had the whole Hell released/time warping thing going on, they were able to slide a lot of characters from the past into it.

What are we going to get in Another Road if it's based on Movie 13?

Goku - SS1, 2, 3
Gohan - SS1, 2, Mystic
Great Saiyaman
Goten - SS1
Chibi Trunks - SS1
Vegeta - SS1, SS2
Videl
Great Saiyaman No. 2
Tapion
Hildegarne - Forms 1 & 2
Gotenks - SS1, SS3
Kurilin
Future Trunks - SS1, USS (maybe; just because of the connected plot at the end)
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!
