Goku & Krillin's voices
No, Cyclops from X-Men: Evolution. Y'know, the guy who you reckon has too weak of a voice to do Goku. I didn't think there was a Cyclops in He-Man. There's Tri-clops, but he sounds completely different.

I thought Cyclops from X-Men was Goku! I swear! I never read the credits but I do know Richard Cox had a small role in it...
INFACT! Did you know Richard Cox is that really gay-ish activity instructor on Breaker High?! Its true! When I noticed it I was horrified to know that THAT was Inu Yasha! But, when he gets angry on Breaker High he sounds like Inu and we never heard Inu trying to act gaily so, yeah, I'm gonna have to beleave it and it does say his name in the credits and I heard it from a good source.
Kirby Murrow (Goku) does a lot of stuff actually.

Kirby Morrow! That's it. Yeah, he is the (second, third or fourth, depending on how you count it) Goku in the Ocean Dub, depending on how you count it. And he's also Cyclops in X-Men: Evolution. But I was watching Buu saga DBZ yesterday on Toonami, and I could swear that Morrow is also doing teen Gohan.

That's from the imdb, isn't it? And it's a crazy, crazy mix of Funi-OG, FUNi, OG, BW and French (?) dub voices.
Brad Swaile, hmm? I'm trying to figure out what else he's done, as it does sound really familiar.
Also, "Nayle"? "Mr Poppo"? Buh?
And that's Kathie Soucie doing chibi Trunks in the OC dub? The Kathie Soucie who is Phil and Lil on Rugrats, and Dexter's mum on Dexter's Lab? That Kathie Soucie? What's she doing there?

I believe Brad Swaile did Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler in X-Men: Evolution and Quatre Winner in Gundam Wing.PsyLiam wrote:That's from the imdb, isn't it? And it's a crazy, crazy mix of Funi-OG, FUNi, OG, BW and French (?) dub voices.

I'm pretty sure he did more than that, but those're the only ones I can think of. ^^;

Re: Goku & Krillin's voices
Furukawa sounds pretty feminine when he's voicing General Blue.VegettoEX wrote:Uhhhh...James R. Cadwell wrote:(like the Japanese version, where all the male characters sound like they got kicked in the balls a few times, IMO)
Toshio Furukawa and Ryo Horikawa hardly sound feminine in any way...
I think it's pretty crazy that Gokuu has a deep, gruffy voice as a kid, and then a softer, higher voice as an adult. Same with Trunks. I don't know why FUNi insists on making the little boys sound like that. I guess it's supposed to be "tough" or "cool", but then, why on Earth did they do it to Upa? At least Dende was spared...

Re: Goku & Krillin's voices
The person who did Dende was also Goku in the dub of the third movie, wasn't she? It was an interesting choice, but I do feel that Nadonly's voice works better. And it's not especialyl gruffer or deaper than his adult voice (er, if his adult voice is Schemmel, and not Morrow.) Gohan's change of voice really does go from "deep and gruff" to "light and fluffy". Guess he gave up smoking 30 a day after beating Cell.TripleRach wrote:I think it's pretty crazy that Gokuu has a deep, gruffy voice as a kid, and then a softer, higher voice as an adult. Didn't FUNi do a poll on their web-site where people could vote for who they wanted to be the voice of Goku in Dragon Ball? Who were the choices? I'm guessing Nadonly and whoever did Dende, but were there others? And did they sound any good?

I faintly remember the voice polls... There were only two choices for Gokuu, and I don't think Dende's actress was the other.
They said they would do a lot of voice polls, but the only others they did were for Shuu, and someone in another of their series (Blue Gender?). I'm glad Shuu didn't get that awful Bullwinkle voice...

This goes back a bit in the thread, but I was watching the History of Trunks DVD, and I noticed how much less valey-girl Bulma sounded. It was as if Tiffiny Volmer realised that the character was in her late 30s/early 40s (I forget which), and so tried to make it sound more mature. So, why doesn't she do that in late DBZ? Or GT?

Well, maybe the older sounding voice for the History of Trunks special was to show how much harder things where in that time-line?

I noticed that too, she sounds all peppy like regular Bulma in the series when she says something like "Oh..do you have a girlfriend?" (thats in the episode where Trunks goes home to kill his timeline Cell and Androids) and yet in History Of Trunks she's got more of the old woman thing sounding weaker. It could be cause of the distruction making her weak but I beleave the actress just realized what was better for the character in making her sound old.
I always noticed they dont make Bulma seem old, ever. Even when she's settled down shes wearing some tight red leather dress and yet its mean to Chi-Chi who looks older every saga! I mean, come on! Bulma is older than them all! Chi-Chi is supposed to be looking like her instead of getting the wrinkles first, Bulma was a teenager when Chi-Chi was just a kid! Sheesh! And this women is still having kids after the Buu saga!

How old is Bulma during the Buu saga anyway? If I've got things right, Gohan is born about a year after DB, when Goku is 19 and Bulma would be 23. And Gohan is 16 during the Buu saga, right? Which would make Bulma 39.
Hmm. Well, that's about the age of Courtney Cox, who doesn't look too bad. So it's possible that Bulma is just a woman who ages well. We're pushing things a bit in GT, although she does look a bit older. And besides, Sigorney Weaver was 49 during Galaxy Quest, and she still looked pretty hot.
