It would have a much better time it it wasn't a monthly series with the page count of a weekly one. As things stand right now, even with the way it's current breakneck pacing, the manga will have a hard time keeping up with the anime. If Battle of Gods is really only 12 episodes (judging from the anime pacing and recent home release news), the arc will already be over by the time the next chapter is officially released .Caulifor wrote:There's also the fact that this is not a weekly manga, and it has to keep up with the weekly anime, to serve as a preview of sorts. It's a shame, really, as a weekly Super manga by Toyotaro would be amazing.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Toriyama once said in a interview, that the Gods of Destruction and the God of Creation (Kaioshins) used to have meetings. And it was in one of those, that Beerus sealed Elder Kai in the Z Sword.Retan wrote:So do we think Champa is indeed a god of destruction from another universe (Not necessarily universe 6)? And how do the Kaioshin know him?
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

I think they are doing it on purpose as a throwback to Anime Labs fansubs.Commander_Red wrote:Ugh...

These awful translations... Cock-Sucker? Motherfucker? Really? Damn that <illegal scan site>?!!
Also is that FT's Heat Dome Attack I see.

That looks more like a Final Flash fired upwards. Look at his hands, Trunks extends his fingers whilst Vegeta keeps the same position as he uses for his Final Flash.kidhero1000 wrote:Also is that FT's Heat Dome Attack I see.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I doubt it, because <illegal scan site> do this in a lot of their other translations. They're just consistently bad at keeping things faithful.UpFromTheSkies wrote:I think they are doing it on purpose as a throwback to Anime Labs fansubs.Commander_Red wrote:Ugh...

Like their Bleach and Naruto releases add a lot of swearing and gangsta talk that isn't present in the original.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

I suppose it is, it's just that that the end of both palms aren't brought together as Vegeta normally does when firing the FF and is more spaced out like HDA is.

As expected of that translation group. Can't help but make it unnecessarily crude
That said the Champa stuff is really great. Not a fan of how Beerus seems to be portrayed a complete dick here though.

Chapter 2 has received an alternate translation elsewhere now. Beerus, well most characters really because of the rushed pacing, is more of a dick than he was in Battle of Gods, but not as bad as as the first translation made him out to be. Honestly, MUCH more tolerable.

Dragon Ball Supers manga pacing doesnt bother me too much *though I wish they were longer* cause Super's pacing its (especially the fights) are a lot different than Dragon Balls normal pacing.

I gotta wonder if they will continue this once they get to the Universe 6 arc, I mean right now the Manga is mainly showing stuff that happened in one way or another in the movie with a little bit of new stuff, would they be willing to spoil a little bit of the new Universe 6 stuff every month with the manga? I guess when they get that far if they want to continue they could always slow the manga down just a tad so that it doesn't go a head of the anime by a bit with every chapter, but then at that point what is the point of the manga?

Maybe the manga will end, and Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission will return from its hiatus.ArchedThunder wrote:I gotta wonder if they will continue this once they get to the Universe 6 arc, I mean right now the Manga is mainly showing stuff that happened in one way or another in the movie with a little bit of new stuff, would they be willing to spoil a little bit of the new Universe 6 stuff every month with the manga? James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

If they drop it that would kinda stink cause as much as this is an advert for the show, it's nice having a manga copy. Also...I do wish they went with this logo for the manga (but I understand why they didnt)

So who actually writes this manga?

Toyotaro, cause it sure isn't Toriyama who's going to be writing it.Galan007 wrote:So who actually writes this manga?

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Toyotaro is most likely using the script Toriyama wrote (if he even wrote a script for the BoG and F arcs) and fleshing it out in his own form, like Toei are doing for the anime.

Looks like the scans got taken down in this thread. It's not like Super manga is going to be release in the states. Until it's license (if it does), we should able to post fan translated scans. Other wise Shueisha is not going to give a crap since we're not the main target audience.

I want the Super manga to continue into the Uni 6 arc. Knowing that Uni 6's animation will suffer because of the One Piece movie means Toyotarou's the only hope for battle sequences in that arc.
On hiatus.

You don't get to have what you want just because it exists and you want it. The magazine literally just came out. If you're so interested in it, pay the $5 and purchase it, and then supplement it with whatever you want out there on the Internet away from this website.Hellspawn28 wrote:Looks like the scans got taken down in this thread. Unless you want us providing over your personally identifying information to Shueisha upon legal request, please don't post up manga scans here, discuss where you're getting them, etc. Believe it or not, we are actually looking out for you IN ADDITION to taking a jackass moral high ground.

There's a new One Piece movie announced? Or do you mean the Episode of Sabo special?Chuquita wrote:I want the Super manga to continue into the Uni 6 arc.
