I do want Super to move on to the original stories soon then later. The series is known to have a bad rep for bad placing and we don't need to focus too much on stuff that we already seen before. The BOG saga should only be at least 10 or 12 episodes at best.

I'm excited for the potential 12 episode arc for RoF.

The movie definitively needs more screen time.

The latest timeline calls BoG & FnF together "Gods of the Universe arc".
Fans been calling the entire neo-DB period a "Gods" arc for some time anyway so its fitting. Universe 6 will be part of it too. I enjoy this direction, it's definitely the strong part of Super/movies, although I hope whatever next big arc is (if there is one), it will deal with something completly different. This should be the last expansion of Deities lore/hierarchy/lineup, along with universe expansion. Between Buu saga and current Gods saga, DB's been in fantasy/magic period for quite long, it needs more technological/military angle in the next arc IMO.

It's precisely the fact we know NOTHING about the 6th Universe, which should be just as big as the 7th, which is where EVERY event has taken place in DB and DBZ, that makes the prospect of exploring it so exciting. The exploration of another Universe, along with Beerus' statement by the end of BoG that there are actually as many as 12 different, separate Universes, open up and generate immense room for new insanely powerful characters and villains, most likely in the same exact degree as the 7th Universe, so, yeah, there's probably somebody along the lines of Freeza, Bojack, Dabura, etc., etc., in the 6th Universe
I remember how in one piece, luffy's native "east blue" was the "weakest" sea, which makes sense as you want more challenging characters as the story progresses, and I think u1 or u12 might be home to the "grand line", so to speak

Golden Freeza could use the padding, too. The movie was almost exclusively fighting. They need to take this opportunity to fluff the arc up with some world building.
Could that be when they start teasing Champa? BoG is doing it's own world building so maybe they thought adding Champa into the mix might be a bit too much. "F" story is pretty simple so teasing Champa at the end of each episode would be good way about things. Other than that there is not much they can do without taking the spotlight off Freeza's return.

I don't know when they'll introduce Champa for certain, but they definitely don't need him to actually flesh out Resurrection "F". Both Battle of Gods film and TV versions have lots of world building that ties into their contents; new characters, new forms, new planets, new timeline entries, etc. Resurrection "F" offered very little in that regard. We probably wouldn't have gotten anything as big as the 12 Universes reveal, but the film still had very similar potential since Freeza and his organization controlled parts of Universe 7. Resurrection "F" could have given us more info on Freeza's army, a potential look into Freeza's species (and a name), a flashback to Freeza first meeting Beerus, Freeza annexing the Saiyans (Gichamu getting the scouters?), more new planets, more new aliens, etc.

Super took the world building of Battle of Gods and ramped it up another notch by naming and/or showing half a dozen new planets, giving a date to when Beerus destroyed Kaio's planet, giving a rough timeframe for how long Beerus has been alive, etc. All in only 6 episodes too. So I've very hopeful that the small handful of such things that were present in Resurrection "F" are met with the same amount of expansion as we're getting now, if not more.

The official website updated today with another cast interview, like the ones with Nozawa, Horikawa, Furukawa and Kusao. This time around, it's Ishizuka and Shioya together.

Welp. Judging from the last few One Piece movies and the fact that OP movies are Toei's cashcow, this is where the best of Toei's animators will go.

Now I kinda wish the Uni 6 arc would happen before the F arc; at least then we'd have a chance.

And I don't know even what they're doing with the annual spring Precure All Stars movie. They phoned it in this year by reusing a lot of the cgi dances from old ED's. I doubt that can pull that trick twice. They could do a full cgi Precure movie though, that would save some 2D animators.

Scheduling-wise, does OP movie slated for Summer 2016 essentially rule out DB movie for summer slot? Or in 2016 all together?

It means the only chance we'd have for a movie next year would be in December. The last couple OP movies were in December. When BOG had April, Strong World had the previous December.

We'd be switching slots with them this time.

Yeah, the next twelve months are going to be Hell on Dragon Ball Super, especially assuming we lose any good staff we've already had to the movie. Tate Naoki hasn't been involved in the One Piece movies much at all since Episode of Chopper, though, so I'm thinking he will probably stick around, though.

I had a feeling a One Piece movie was coming, but I didn't expect it in the summer. Super's new material arc feels so doomed now, but it's still so many months away it's like watching a crash in slow motion. :(

Eh, I'm not too worried, it's not like every animator they have is going to be working on the movie full time for months on end.

That's true but quite a few of the animators they use will also work on other things besides the movie and they're going to spend a lot of time on production.
