Yes, but lets not compare Bulma to Sigorney Weaver..i dont know WHAT that women does but it amazes me of how pretty she is at her age.

So, Bulma is in her late 30's making Chi-Chi in her early 20's or late 20's? If so, she looks waaaaaaayyy too old for her age but then again, it depends what saga we're talking about.

Well, facially neither of them have wrinkles on their face during DBZ (although I'm ignoring the final few episodes, since I, er, can't remember if they turn up or what they look like). Indeed, the only real difference is in hair style. Bulma strikes me as the sort of person who would try and look "young", whereas Chi Chi is the sort of woman who wants to look, well, like a married housewife.

Yeah, Chi Chi and Bulma both appear in the 10 Years Later thing. Chi-Chi looks disturbingly old, and Bulma somehow manages to look young.. ish. Though Chi-Chi's also annoyed at how she's looking like an old maid

Actually I thought Chi-Chi looked great at the end of DBZ, without that bun she doesn't look so uptight anymore. It's only in GT that she looks really old.

They don't just look older, their heads are bigger. Well, at least Chi-Chi's is.

And ugh, Chi-Chi and Videl look almost like sisters in GT. I thought Videl's look from the end of Z was bad but GT tops that. I almost didn't recognize her.

Y'know, you're right. They are drawn very similairly. Compare that to when Videl and Chi-Chi were arguing about Gohan agreeing to teach her to fly.

(Plus, Videl is one of those people in GT who suffers from Yamcha "I'm sure I used to occasionally punch things" syndrome.)

I think everyone started to get huge heads in the Buu saga, and it only got worse in DBGT. Pan and Chibi Gokuu look like Pez dispensers. It's especially obvious in the "Don't you see!" animation, where we can see them all from a profile.

That was rather annoying as well. I mean, she's Hercule's daughter, Gohan's wife, Pan's mother, she fought when she was a teen, and now... nothing?! I expected her to at least catch up to the slacking Yamcha in power...

Chibi Goku isn't so bad, it makes Pan looked cute IMO, but everyone else is just glaringly wrong. Trunks, Goten, and Vegeta right there on the top of the list. Trunks looks more like Mirai no Trunks's brother than anything, Goten turned into a Gohan clone almost, and WTF happened to Vegeta's hair?

Well, since we never saw Yamcha (outside of his whole 3 second appearence in the final episode), she might have overtaken him. Poor Yamcha, he'd become so useless he couldn't even manage to stick his head in and say "I'm rubbish at fighting. I bring nothing to conversations. Don't even look at me".

And to think, Yamcha was so cool before. His scar, his whole wolf thingy goin on. He even got the girl! Poor Yamcha..

You would also think that Vegeta wouldint drag Trunks and Goten to go get the Dragonballz but more likely want to go himself for the adventure and put in some excuse like "If you go alone, Kakarott, then you will die and that woman will cry even more you fool!!"

Geez, they really did screw everyone up didint they?

I think they made Goku young again because (even though he didn't look it) he was getting old.O.o

Well, as Goku said, even though he's young in body, he's still an adult. He comments on it when he's tricked into being in the children division of the Tenkaichi Budoukai

I was thinking about that as I was watching DBGT last night, and I'm not convinced that he still is an adult in mind. He certainly seems much more childish and, well, stupid than he did in the second half of DBZ. I just can't think of any examples off the top of my head...

Thanks, took me an hour to get it just right 8)

As for Goku, he seems kind of in between in mentality in GT. I think having the kid body again is screwing with his mind a bit. I don't know, maybe a hormone deficincey or something? :?

Goku does indeed seem so immature when he turns back into a kid. He really does, even more than he usually is. I say, he's Goku, the adult with the body of a kid giving him habits of a kid....maybe its just being small that makes Goku feel obligated to being more laid-back. If I were a kid again I would be more immature thinking that people were now gonna do things for me. But maybe thats just me! ^-^

That new avatar really is great! I cant help but stare at it every time I see it.

Where do people get the idea that Videl has anything even approaching Yamucha's level of power?

Oh, I don't think she did. After all, she never managed a single ki blast throughout DBZ.

On the other hand, she did learn to fly in one day, something which Gohan himself states is incredible. We have to ignore Goten, but since the kid also learnt to go Super Saiyan without any apparent trouble, it's obvious that certain normal conditions didn't really apply to him or Trunks.

Compare that to Goku, who only learnt to fly YEARS after he started manipulating ki into energy blasts. It's obviously a tricky skill to learn. I wonder how well she would have coped if Gohan had tried to teach her to throw a Masenko...

Mainly though, I was merely making a point that Videl went through a period of getting stronger and learning to do new things (like Yamcha), and then suddenly seemed to forget that she could do anything remotely useful (like Yamcha).

I figured the major difference between them was that Videl had someone who already knew how to fly available to teach her, while it seems like a lot of the other characters developed the technique on their own.

In the Buu Saga, didn't he ride with everyone else in the air car when Bulma went to search for the Dragon Balls? You'd think he would have just taken the radar and found them on his own.

Yup. I was relieved when he actually fired a ki blast at one point, since I'd started to wonder if he'd become so useless he couldn't even do that anymore.

And yeah, he really should have done it himself. Goku managed to do it in about 5 minutes during the Cell saga. Granted, he had instant transmovingsupercoolability, but Yamcha was still the third strongest human on the planet (probably), and should have been able to destroy mountains without breaking a sweat. How hard would it have been for him to go and do it himself?

Mr Popo did it during the Freeza saga. Mr Popo!
