Ok, let me change. How about if Goku was just a minor character. He keeps the strength he has he's just not as improtant.

Then he'd lose because minor characters can't defeat the villain.

For an example, it took me about three years to accept that the only person that was stronger than Vegetto was Piccolo.

Damn straight! The three years was intense meditation while I was in prison. Someone told me Piccolo was weak and I just lost it, they're still looking for his ear 'til this day. (Yes it was a joke, much like Menardi's comment on Freeza).

Well, to comment on the topic at hand, I'd have that say the Freeza would still have lost, even if he had not used the Kienzan. By that point in the fight, he was exhausted and his Ki was dropping rapidly while Goku was still in good form, seemingly not even really winded.

Also, Freeza's mental state was just...bad. His pride was ripped apart, his composure destroyed, and he was extremely desperate. I think that after being faced with, not only a stronger opponent, but a Super sayia-jin, Freeza was just not the same person at all. His mind was nearly shattered.

Evidence of this can be seen when he arrives on Earth and almost instantly starts seeing images of Goku and having flashbacks. He might cover it up well, but when faced with another Super Sayia-jin, Trunks, the flashbacks come in full force and he's pretty much finished at that point. One of the reasons I love that episode soo much is that it portrays Freeza's character soo well and just has such a different feel to it from the rest of the series.

In closing, as much as I love Freeza(he's my favorite villian), I still say, his reign was over once Goku turned into a Super Sayia-jin. Hope you all enjoy that little rant.

Taking out all bias and speculations and looking at just the Manga, Goku was owning on Freeza near the end of their fight and would have won. No "ifs" or "whats" about it. Same with Cooler - you can't use the "It's a movie so they changed it" logic (or lack thereof) to try and say he was stronger. The Movie creators showed what Rocketman said for a reason! You can't disvalidate that and call yourself intelligent in the same millenium.

If you're going to get into these pointless subjects, you have to at least use evidence and facts as opposed to speculation and theory.

Also, the only 2 characters to ever get power increases from rage were Gohan and Boo. Keep that in mind. For everyone else, anger just made you fight harder or more carelessly, but didn't make you stronger. Transformations are another issue.

It says in Daizenshuu 7 that Goku is stronger than 100% Freeza. Also, you don't even need the Daizenshuu to know this. It's common knowledge. A Super Saiya-jin is simply stronger than Freeza.

He took the death beam on when Freeza was still in his 50% form if I'm not mistaken. Either that or it was 75%, either way this was not in 100%. Freeza's ki attacks were deadly enough to hurt Goku in 100% if not kill him. Besides if Goku could shake off the death beam with Freeza at 100% then the fight would have ended much quicker than it did. Goku's power was draining just as much as Freeza's. I still think Freeza would have won. Freeza is much smarter than Goku and as Freeza stated it's not the strongest fighter that wins it's the smartest. Not only that but Freeza has much more combat experience than Goku. Freeza is much older than Goku I'm sure we can all agree to. While Goku himself is a good fighter Freeza would have won. I will admit Goku was stronger than Freeza in his Super Saiyan form, but he was just pounding him. He couldn't kill Freeza. 100% nearly completely matched Super Saiyan.

Well, it's true, the smartest wins, and Freeza can't be the smartest because he sliced himself in half with his own attack. Goku outwitted him. And Goku has wayyy more combat experience, fighting everything that moved. Freeza just sat in a chair and twitched his finger to get people to do what he wanted. That fight on Namek was the first time he did anything above that. He doesn't have a fighting style, either, because he never needed one.

Yes, in all versions of the story Goku triumphs over Freeza because he's the stronger and better warrior. And for the record, Spawn died for me when Malebolgia died in issue 100.
