Actually GI_Judd2287, this crossover has already taken place within comic-dom; establishing Goku as the clear undisputed winner. Below you'll find a image of the cover of a special Wizard magazine crossover issue.

Image

Above is the October 2002 issue of Wizard Magazine (issue #133). As I mentioned earlier it included a special "East Vs. West" feature. Which consisted of several "last man standing" style battles between popular Japanese manga stars and American comic icons. Apparently, Wizard assembled some of the most respectable artists / studios in the world of comics, including Pat Lee (Transformers G1), Phil Jimenez (New X-Men), Udon Studios (Deadpool), and a few other well known talents and reputable studios. The illustrations were rendered through a 5 paged color spread / pannel. There was also a brief character introduction / origin and a short script preluding each battle. Speaking of battles! The feature included 5 crossover confrontations including, Spideman Vs. Vash The Stampede, G-Force Vs. The Bat Family (Batman, Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and the Huntress), Wolverine Vs. the immortal Manji, Tetsuo Vs. Phoenix, and of course; Superman Vs. Goku.

The battle between Direct Comic's Superman Vs. Dragonball Z's Goku was illustrated by the combined forces of Long Vo and Udon Studios. In this "what if" scenerio Babidi tricks a naive Goku into believing a 8th Dragonball exist on a parallel Earth protected by an invincible Kyptonian. Babidi further convinces Goku that Superman is a evil tyrant who stole the Dragonball for his own evil agenda. Goku, being the simple-minded nincompoop that he is, believed every twisted word that came off of Babidi's deceiving tongue.

Using his Instant Transmission technique and some help from Babidi's magical powers, Goku travels inter-dimensionally; instantly arriving within the DC universe. After spotting the Man of Steel inspecting a LexCorp satellite, Goku introduces himself by punching Superman into the nearby moon. Shaking the blow off, Superman dodges the next couple of punches while returning his own, but Goku's martial arts prowess and teleportation ability allow him to consistantly land more blows. However, it's clear Superman is more than capable of absorbing most of Goku's furious punches, and surprises Goku with a couple of concentrated streams of heat vision.

In the next pannel Goku decides to end the battle, and rapidly teleports, landing dozens of punches in the span of a second. It's my theory that Superman's super-vision can detect particle fluxes within the air whenever Goku teleports, in effect, allowing him to anticipate where Goku will most likely appear. Not falling for the same trick twice, the next time Goku winks out and reappears, Superman unleashes a nasty super-powered haymaker to Goku's chin, sending the stunned Saiyan warrior crashing several miles beneath the moons surface.

Superman demands an explanation for Goku's seemingly unprovoked attack, but Goku powers up to Super Saiyan mode, uses Instant Transmission to teleport within inches of Superman's muscular frame, and fires off a kamehameha at point blank range into The Man Of Steel's chest. (see image below). Goku follows the Kamehameha with a gut punch (similar to the punch he used to defeat Broly at the end of movie 7) that hits, an already woozy Superman, square in the "S" shield. The intensity of the punch knocks Superman through the moons core and back toward planet Earth.

Goku's suddenly regains his common sense and realizes that he's been tricked, yet again. He knows it was all a lie and there is no 8th Dragonball anywhere on this alternative Earth. It's then he notices Superman's bloodied, battered, and broken body rocketing toward Earth. Fearing that such a hype velocity fall might kill the innocent Kyptonian; Goku teleports and catches Superman a moment before his alien insides are splattered all over the planets surface.

Goku, like the honorable warrior that he is, apologizes for his brash behavior before heading back to his own dimension to squash the little worm, Babidi. Puzzled and bewildered by the thorough *** kicking he's just experienced; a defeated and dominated Superman collapses unconscious, awaiting medical treatment from S.T.A.R Labs.

Image
That battle is crap.

1. How can Goku even be fighting Superman out in space? Goku can't breath in space. Superman can't either, but he was trained my Mongul to hold his breath for very long periods of time in a vacuum.

2. You need one of the following things to hurt Superman: (1) Kryptonite, (2) Magic, (3) Be of at least equal strength to Superman, (4) Have Kryptonian Physiology. These requirements are for any universe. In the JLA/Avengers crossover, Thor was able to hurt Superman because he had two of these requirements (#2 and #3 to be specific). And if anyone is wondering, the crossover IS canon.

3. The Kamehameha wouldn't do that much damage to Superman. He's taken far worse than a Kamehemaha. Blasts from an Imperiex probe (the blast was capable of at least vaporizing a solar system), a blast from Imperiex himself (a being that destroys galaxies and is composed of enough energy to start a Big Bang), absorbed the energy from the Mageddon warhead (a warhead built to vaporize half the universe) and many more blasts. He faced Imperiex in the Our Worlds At War arc and faced Mageddon in the World War Three arc.

Also keep in mind that this is the post crisis version of Superman. The severely powered down Superman. That article is one of the reasons why I HATE Wizard.

Now, THIS is how the battle would end up:

Yea, it's really too bad the man of steel was utterly man-handled by a weakling like Goku. As a SSJ1, I might add. C'mon, Goku is DEFINTELY weaker than Batman. Right? There's absolutely no way, whatsoever, that a underpowered puny Saiyan could EVER hurt someone like Superman. Or the Question, Green Arrow, or any of the other god-like Justice Leaguers; for that matter.

In any event, Superman falling before Goku is established in comic-dom.

Also, I believe there's a bit of controversy surrounding whether or not "saiyans can actually breathe in space." Mostly because of the final moments of the "Bardock - Father Of Goku" tv special. More specifically, whether or not Bardock was literally in space, or just the upper atmosphere.

Come on, dude. You know as well as I do that Goku is infinitely stronger than Batman. That is, unless Batman has time to plan ;) If he does then Goku is going down HARD! XD

But seriously, Goku can't and won't beat Superman. Going by established feats from their respective series, Superman outclasses Goku in every way. Maybe if Goku became immortal, discovered SSJ 50, was suddenly able to move at lightspeed and gained 40 billion ton strength...then he would give Superman a challenge.

Really.... who cares.

Isn't there something around here that says no topics/conversations like this anyways.

I'm sure the example even says something like ''don't post topics about who would win between Goku & Superman''.

I was just pointing out what was wrong with the Wizard article. There's nothing wrong with that.

And for the sake of being on topic, I'll say Naruto and DBZ should cross over.

I would like Dragonball to cross with Cowboy Bebop. I wouldn't want fight scenes or anything but if you crazy guys & dolls have seen Bebop then you have probably seen the episode with Spike & Andy.

I would like to see an episode or a short page of manga with Goku and Spike. I think it would be pretty much on the same lines, and could be funny.

I'd like to see a Naruto / Dragon Ball crossover, as well. Maybe some sort World Tournament envolving the top characters from both stories.

Wow, four pages for this thread and no one's mentioned a crossover with Bleach or anything else like that. xD

Weeeeeell... if there're any mixups I'd like to see, one of them would most definitely be DBZ/Battle Angel Alita. Kishiro's manga is probably quite a bit bloodier (amazing considering we're already talking about Dragonball, huh?) and the story is quite a bit more serious than Dragonball's ever been, but there are still quite a few instances of humor in the series. I don't know how they could work out the differences in character power, etc., but if they can manage it, I'd really like to see what Toriyama and Kishiro come up with. :)

As for other crossovers that haven't already been mentioned... well, I'd love to see a Dragonball/Fullmetal Alchemist combination! :D *shot* But seriously, I relish the idea of these two stories colliding with each other. Maybe it's just because of the fact that I love both of these series to death... >.> But I do figure that it would be hella funny. Arakawa's just as skilled with her humor as Toriyama is. x33

I like several of the ideas already given here, as well... like, the Ranma/DBZ one, for instance. I wouldn't even mind a crossover with Sailor Moon, as long as the story doesn't end up like all those uber-awful DBZ/SM romance fanfics cluttering the web already... >_< A spoof of those nasty things would probably be really good, though.

And, hey, why just two series in a crossover? I've seen and read several neat multiple-series combinations that seem to work, Battle Stadium D.O.N. and the Jump Superstars comic aside. I'm specifically thinking of a good crossover fic when I say this, but it could very well apply to something like manga as well, I'd wager... o.o
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

Kino basically just covered what I'd like to see, a cross-over between Fullmetal and DragonBall. I'm sure they could come up with some non-canon story of the Gate leading to the DBZ-verse. I mean if it can come to "our Earth" in the anime, then why not that alternative? Seeing a battle between Vegeta and Edward...or Teen Gohan and Alphonse.....

Reminds me of last night on Deviantart, I saw a picture someone did of Gohan and Rini getting married about to toss the garter belt I believe it's called.

C'mon guys, on topic please!

Anyways, I was going through my Jump and I'd think that a Dragonball X Bleach crossover would be kinda funny. Ichigo with his cockiness and Goku with his friendliness would make an awkward yet hilarious duo! (^^)

Vegeta's pretty short himself, so he'd probably get just as mad at that kind of insult.

Two words. Parallel Reality.

I personaly would love seeing Great Saiyaman in the Marvel Comics universe.

But as for a full crossover with another anime/manga well... I think I'll have to agree with everyone else about Naruto.

Captain Planet, because you can't destroy him without having a) a lot of pollution or b) the power to destroy a planet. Oh wait... :P.

FMA/DBZ would be interesting! ... I Need to see more than just 20 episodes of FullMetal Alchemist... :(.

Hmm... DBZ × Broken Sky. Which I need to finish...

I know its not an anime or manga but a crossover with Doctor Who would make my day. Dragonball Goku facing off against The Daleks.
