It's released in a monthly magazine. It's hard to gauge interest in the adaptation based on sales of said magazine because not everyone buying the issue is necessarily interested in Dragon Ball. It'd be like judging the popularity of a single film on a specific day based on the total number of attendance of a movie theater for said day.

The last issue said Super manga is "super popular", so maybe the magazine is selling more ever since the series started. But that's all we have.

Can't wait for the next chapter. I need more Champa/Whis Waifu in Super.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Wait... Kaioshin and Kibito are two people again?

I wonder if that will translate to the anime. Toyotaro seems to be doing some pretty ballsy stuff.

They should just have him write the script for Super...
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Indeed that seems almost too big not to be a plot point in Super somewhere down the line, probably when the anime start teasing the Champa stuff.

Definitely. He's doing a much better job, it's just a shame he's being limited by the number of pages and the manga being promotional material for the anime. :|

Pretty cool how they are connecting everything. Hope Freeza's organization is a bit explored, with maybe a failed planetary invasion, to illustrate the difficulty they are having.

A lot of people fail to realize this. Anyway.

It looks like there will not be any in-between story and we go straight to "Freeza's arc"? Well, I hope the anime version does not follow this.

My bet is that they'll start introducing the Champa stuff at the end of the Beerus and Goku fight, right at the start of the F arc. Maybe it goes like the manga, Freeza's army is searching for the DBs, they find that huge one, and Champa intervenes and the F arc starts from there. But I'm not really sure where Kibitoshin's de-fusion comes in place and it really does seem like something too important for Toyotaro to make it up. Let's wait and see, I guess.

Not sure how I feel about the Kaioshin split, especially if it doesn't serve a purpose later on...

I am, however, as always, enjoying the Champa material. I'm also really liking that Toyotaro is tying it in with with the Resurrection "F" material too. I wonder if we get to see the Super Dragon Ball itself (for clarification on the size), and I'm curious what Karuna/Garana (same people? different people? couldn't settle on a spelling for the summary?) looks like. If he's the #2 though, it looks as if Toyble is going along with Toriyama's script of Shisami being a mercenary.

Judging by that last part, seems like my theory about Champa have anything to do with Freeza power up may be true.
I shall wait.

Weren't they on the cruise ship in the middle of the ocean last chapter? Now all of the sudden they're in a city like in the movie? Unless they flew from the cruise ship to a city, but the dialogue doesn't make it seem that way.

The first page shows the cruise ship they were on.

I thought the description made it seem like they were flying through various locations after the battle starts. The city just sounded like the 1st one mentioned, rather than saying they started from there.

Freeza trained with Whis-ko? That would be fun, with Whis and Whis-ko then fighting over whose disciple is better when Freeza fights Goku/Vegeta, like North and West Kaio.

Would at least explain the "1.3 million" line, that would be his actual power had he trained normally, but then Champa and Whis-ko appear and after training with them, he powered up beyond that.
