Opening and Ending of DB Super in VHS style!

Post by danielsan_190196 » Thu Aug 13, 2015 10:16 pm

The French fan Noham-el, member here and in db-z.com, edited the OP&ED to make it look like an old series. A great work imo :).

This is depressing. It reminds me of when all I had was a VCR, basic cable and a few game consoles.
Most Dragon Ball fans are incapable of making a logically sound argument.

The result was cool! I have the script for the VHS effect he used.

Should have replaced the songs with cheesy French-dubbed ones.

It's a better version, with a neater video editing and a better quality. Enjoy

Looks good at first glance, but as a videophile, I can point out some obvious flaws:
  • The title logo and texts are placed too widely. They'd be shown cropped on CRT monitors. You should take safe area in consideration if you want it look more authentic.
  • The audio noise sounds very artificial. This kind of clear white noise cannot be generated in any processes during analog telecast, VCR recording or playback. Some low-frequency noise or crackles would be better.
  • No rainbows caused by composite video signals. They'd add nicely classic feelings to the footage. Did you simulate S-VHS VCR playback with S-Video/SCART? Then never mind... :)

Well, being a simulation of ye olde French TV, it would be presumably a PAL/SECAM VHS recording, and pre-HD PAL anything is typically always SCART. Even the stuff that isn't natively SCART, like most video game consoles, usually comes with adapters to be used with SCART.
