Erm no it wasn't.
Have you looked at the F thread? If there's such a large number of people who hate the movie here, here, on Kanzenshuu, then you have no idea about the rest of the internet. The only place I've seen where most people like the movie is Youtube. YOUTUBE!

And that doesn't amount to much given the fact anything that looks cool and gritty and has lots of action gets a pass from the YT DB fans.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

When it got released in US, everyone was raving about the movie on social media, people calling the best movie of the year and it was miles better then BoG etc, infact it took me a while to find a tweet that wasn't positive. The F thread is not a good good judge of the consensus since it majority of people there who hated the movie beforehand or watched a shitty Spanish cam rip. Also to note Resurrection F is currently the number one selling anime on Amazon and to mention obliterated BoG box office wise. Resurrection F is not as hated as you think.

I'm not saying it's hated at all. I'm saying there's a large negative reaction on the Internet, which is absolutely, one-hundred percent true. I didn't say it was larger than the positive reaction, either.

Yeah, and just to clarify, the negative comments I referred to seemed to be from people who were judging the movie based on net spoilers alone. When the movie was finally released in U.S. theaters, the comments balanced out considerably.

I was excited at first as the trailers seem to indicate a more serious story that would push the boundaries of our hero's. I had a feeling though deep down it's just be Goku Cena again, but I wasn't 100% convinced. More info comes up and I see Goku & Vegeta with new outfits and training with Whis. From that point I knew, "Ah shit we're going back to GT character usage again aren't we?" More info comes out and I hear what the rest of the cast is doing. The mook rush. Immediately I recall the mook rush from GT and have it confirmed it's pretty much the same, but without the villain brand recognition of the mooks. I hear about Gohan going down pathetically and can kinda go Super Saiyan, which cemented that they really don't give a shit about him. I hear the 1.3 number and see they really don't give a shit about consistency with their own PL's either. The Whis Ex Machina from the manga preview was enough for literally everyone to call, that's what will save the day. Vegeta was being speculated TO AN ANNOYING DEGREE that he'll save the day and everyone who thinks he won't is wrong. So any enthusiasm where I kinda would like that, went out the window to make me happy when those people didn't get anything close to that. Finally I expected Goku Cena for sure at this rate, and bah baaah baaaaaaaaaah it delivered.

I expected at the very least when some info came out an epic battle between Goku and Freeza. A really cool fight at the very least. I didn't even get that. It was slow and lacked any impact. It's like every fight must devolve into happy slaps and jabs. Nobody sells any of the fighting at all. I expected Freeza's new form to maybe be cool as every other form of his looked interesting...but nope. Stupid lame ass look that just manages to beat out the lamer SSGSS. I guess Freeza can be proud he looks better than that paint job. Like others I expected an interesting plot as BOG had one. It had new characters and lore expansion going for it. I had hoped this movie would do the same. But no it was a complete waste of time. Wipe this movie out of existence and we lose nothing of any real value. I enjoy it for what it is, but it's not meaningful in the least.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

I felt a bit disappointed on the movie´s finale...I really wanted Vegeta get his revenge on Frieza but the "Kame Hame Ha Deus Ex Machina Plot Twist" ruined that chance, but I enjoyed the movie anyway as there were many callbacks to Frieza Saga and it had a nice introduction for Jaco.
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years :)

I really despise Golden Freeza because it makes the whole concept of Cooler entirely pointless. And despite all that power up for Freeza, he still got his ass kicked the whole movie and was made to look like a fool.
