Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
If it got more powerful ther further away it got, why was King Kai's planet and the Kaioshin planet completely unaffecetd. The shockwaves didn't even cause any damage to those planets. I do not think they depicted it as well they could have. They could have shown more planets being destroyed, perhaps even suns, and lots of enviromental damage to the Kais worlds. Have it destroy a section of snake way and ect.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
This is so different from the movie lol.
In the bog movie there was nothing new displayed that wasnt done before in dbz,but this.Wow,just opened a whole new world.
So here we got statements of universe destruction,a visual representation of what would happen if goku hadnt canceled the third punch and universal shockwaves that keep getting stronger the farther they go.
Its a good day to be a dbz fan.

My guess is,would have cost more to show, they already showed a planet disintegrating and kaio's planet is much much further, plus it was already shown what would happen if goku wouldnt have canceled the third punch. The whole universe would have become void.AvatarReiko wrote:If it got more powerful ther further away it got, why was King Kai's planet and the Kaioshin planet completely unaffecetd. Well looks like any gt vs gods debate have been rendered null and void.

I guess by that logic Namek Saga characters > GT, these guys have been able to punch planets out of existence since then at least. Toriyama's idea is that the characters got aware of this and mastered their power to a level where they can use it without wreaking havoc to everything around them. Toei's just showing it for the first time cause they know the majority of fans splooge all over destruction and stupid power feats over anything & everything else.pacz360 wrote:Well looks like any gt vs gods debate have been rendered null and void.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Once again you forget the fact that these characters have been capable of this level of destruction since forever, it's only just now being shown yet you're pretending like it's something amazing. It's really not. To show just how dumb using these displays of power is, I'm gonna draw a parallel. Vegeta powers up in Saiyan Saga, altering the very weather itself and causing the entire planet to tremble in his wake. Goku does much of the same when he powers up to Super Saiyan 3 except altering the weather which according to your logic means Super Saiyan 3 Goku < Saiyan Saga Vegeta.pacz360 wrote:Uhhh goku and beerus clash literally travel and destroy planets, stars and even reach the kaioshin realm and King Kai's planet and would destroyed the universe if goku didn't do anything about itekrolo2 wrote:I guess by that logic Namek Saga characters > GT, these guys have been able to punch planets out of existence since then at least. It's a dumb system to gauge people's powers with more holes in it than Loki's plan in the Avengers. The only somewhat decent way to gauge people's powers is to compare fighters against one another based on comments & performance of the combatants. Even then you'll run into problems like subjective speculation or interpretations but at least its a better alternative to comparing who's dick can blow up more stuff when they've been able to blow up all the stuff anyway since Freeza.

When has anyone before in the series threaten to destroy the entire universe with just a few punches while still supressed?
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
I understand and agree on what you said it just for years we had to speculate on how powerful they are ever since the cell saga and now super is delivering on terms of feats.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
When have these guys NOT been able to destroy the entire universe? Vegeta can blow up the Earth with a PL of under 20.000 and Goku, upon attaining Super Saiyan is almost ten thousand times more powerful than him, what do you think he can do at that level? If not punch the universe to shreds at the very least annihilate it with an energy explosion. Honestly, as far as I'm concerned these guys could pull off this "amazing feat" of the Gods as far back as the Semi-Perfect Cell portion of the story, never mind everything afterward.Saiyan007 wrote:When has anyone before in the series threaten to destroy the entire universe with just a few punches while still supressed?

Nonsense. If Semi-Perfect Cell could destroy the universe, then Super Perfect Cell wouldn't have boasted on having enough power to wipe out the solar system. It would make him sound utterly stupid if everyone could do a trillion times worse than that by then.ekrolo2 wrote:When have these guys NOT been able to destroy the entire universe? Earth is 1300000 times smaller than the sun, by itself. So, even 10000 times an Earth buster wouldn't necessarily be enough to destroy the sun. The closest thing we had seen before this was Cell's statement about destroying the entire solar system, but even there he didn't get to actually show that power in any way.ekrolo2 wrote:When have these guys NOT been able to destroy the entire universe? The Kaioshin planet was said to be more resistant than normal planets back during the Kid Buu battle. Although I guess that doesn't explain Kaio's.AvatarReiko wrote:If it got more powerful ther further away it got, why was King Kai's planet and the Kaioshin planet completely unaffecetd. You do remember Cells motivation is to test his perfection right? Him annihilating everything when he's most certainly more than capable of it would leave him with nothing to do. As far a he's concerned, the strongest of this Solar System are right here on Earth so destroying it is no big loss for him. Besides, Cells boast doesn't even make sense in-universe. How does him firing off a Kamehameha one way beam into whatever direction automatically annihilate the entire solar system if Gohan fails to stop it? That's like firing a rocket into a building expecting the entire city to go tits up along with it.Blackstripe wrote:Nonsense. What's more likely is that he's releasing a controlled output of Ki into the beam and directing it towards the sun even though the amount of Ki he's pouring into it is overkill to destroy something as measly as a sun. Measly for him and other characters even way below his level at this point anyway.

Perfect Cell never said that the Kamehameha would destroy the solar system, only that it had enough power to do it. It is pretty obvious he wasn't going to destroy a solar system which he is part of, but the Kamehameha, if it was an explosion-type attack could have wiped everything out.ekrolo2 wrote:You do remember Cells motivation is to test his perfection right? And in reply to your other posts. If you think this feats are not impressive you are one of those people who never truly understood the show, sorry to say. For example, if everybody could do it by the Semi-Perfect Cell saga, why didn't Kid Buu do it, who is much stronger than anyone during that time? His whole purpose is destruction, after all. Really, the highest feats everybody has, in all of the material is planet-busting. They haven't even been shown to destroy a sun, looking back at the times Cooler and Broly were fired into one. Having the power to destroy a universe in three indirect blows... it's huge.

Yes, because I have a different view of the show regarding its power feats and what its characters are capable of, I don't get it. Please, spare me that BS. It's the same thing as saying "You're not a true fan unless you like or dislike this or don't agree with whatever it is I decided is right*. If you're gonna argue my points, actually do so without resorting to that kind of crap.Draconic wrote:Perfect Cell never said that the Kamehameha would destroy the solar system, only that it had enough power to do it. You also completely contradict yourself by saying they can only bust planets but then confirm you believe Cell directing all the power of the Kamehameha wave into an explosion would've been enough to wipe out everything. Including the solar system. He also just returned from the dead after blowing himself up, proving that he can survive committing suicide and that it doesn't matter even a little to him whether or not the solar system is destroyed as he'll just survive regardless.
As for Kid Buu, he immediately goes to blow up the Earth until Vegeta halts his blast, getting his attention. Buu tries again and once more, the Saiyan's get his attention by escaping him and he promptly teleports to Supreme Kai's planet because he specifically wants to fight Goku and Vegeta. Neither of them know this and actually expect him to just go on a relentless rampage across the universe while they think of a plan to take him out from the safety of the Kai homeworld.
This shows that even if he lacks anything resembling intellect, he's still willing to put pure destruction by the side so he can fight someone who'll entertain him.

You're completely underestimating how big the universe is. Cell would have to be quadrillions of times stronger than Saiyan arc Vegeta to be able to blow up a galaxy, let alone a universe.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
I dunno if you just don't grasp the scale of the universe or anything, but the difference in power needed to blow up the planet and even the sun is MASSIVE. 1.3 million Earth's can fit inside the sun, and no, that doesn't mean you need to be 1.3 million times stronger to destroy it, you need to be WAY more powerful due to the GBE. For some reason people like you seem to think the scale of destruction goes directly from planet -> solar -> galaxy -> universe. The difference in scale of all those things is beyond comprehension. You get GT Goku struggling to lift up a city block at maximum, and now physical strength has shockwaves that threaten to destroy the universe.ekrolo2 wrote:When have these guys NOT been able to destroy the entire universe? Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
And you keep trying to put real world logistics into a series that has routinely and pardon my French here f*cKed both science and physics regularly on a constant basis since Roshi annihilates the moon and doesn't cause planet wide havoc across the Earth. If Dragon Ball even remotely tried to apply to those real world rules you might have a point, but its doesn't. The characters powers are constantly over the top and trying to boil it down to our science doesn't work.singsing wrote:I dunno if you just don't grasp the scale of the universe or anything, but the difference in power needed to blow up the planet and even the sun is MASSIVE. 1.3 million Earth's can fit inside the sun, and no, that doesn't mean you need to be 1.3 million times stronger to destroy it, you need to be WAY more powerful due to the GBE. EDIT: Goku also struggles to lift 40 tons, ten on each limb in his base form yet his physical strength alone is enough to smash a planet to bits with a half hearted punch. You see how stupid this is?

People around the internet are wondering the size of the dbz universe. Some say it is 4 galaxies and some say it is like ours. So maybe the dbz universe isn't that large? Do we have canon prove about the dbz universe. So i mean akira toriyama words (interview) or manga.Doctor. wrote:You're completely underestimating how big the universe is.
