Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
The animation was always going to be worse that was a given. The animation in the old movies were better than the animation in the Z episodes as well.
I was actually really against the retelling because I knew it would be worse and it is but it's not too bad. I didn't really want that them to make significant changes anyway.
And I do think there's more potential for the RoF retelling because there's more in the open about that. Out the two that warrants a lengthier retelling a lot more.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Super has much better fighting choreography than either of the movies, to be honest.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
I'd agree that the Vegeta fight against Beerus is quite a bit better on a choreography level even if the visuals let it down. As for the rest, the movies aren't mind blowing but I'll take movie Beerus vs Goku from the cave forward over Supers "You're amazing Beerus-sama!" over and over.Doctor. wrote:Super has much better fighting choreography than either of the movies, to be honest.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I'd agree if episode 11 wasn't a thing. Characterization and character development aside, I'd say Super's fight is a lot more impressive to look at even if episode 12 is shit.ekrolo2 wrote:I'd agree that the Vegeta fight against Beerus is quite a bit better on a choreography level even if the visuals let it down. Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
I caved in and saw some of the universe breaking punches, that's a lot more impressive than the movies for sure but isn't it a bad idea to use something like that for the first arc? Z also shoot itself in the foot by making Vegeta strong enough to blow up Earth which deflated a lot of other "impressive" displays later on.Doctor. wrote:I'd agree if episode 11 wasn't a thing. I was wondering that too. Being that it wasn't used in the movies and it is a significant feat then perhaps it should have been saved for later on. I don't see how they will top that without them actually destroying a Universe for real which is a possibility I suppose.
Anyway new episode, didn't see anything worth pointing out but I imagine there was a lot said about the God form and him going back to Super Saiyan.

This is from Herms
"Beerus put off using his 100% full power against Goku because he thought it'd look bad for a god to use his full power against a mere Saiyan"
So he wasn't using his full power in this version either, I suppose there's still the next episode for him to go all out but I doubt that will happen now. Whether the 70% line stays we'll have to see.

If Beerus used 10% of his power against pissed Vegeta SSJ2, and Vegeta at that point was about the strength of Goku SSJ4, is it safe to say Goku SSJG is 10x stronger than Goku SSJ4?
That means Gogeta SSJ4 > Beerus...

Yeah, I just said SSJ God is 10x SSJ4. However, Gogeta SSJ4 barely showed a smidgen of his power.Saiyan007 wrote:wutDragonHermit wrote:If Beerus used 10% of his power against pissed Vegeta SSJ2, and Vegeta at that point was about the strength of Goku SSJ4, is it safe to say Goku SSJG is 10x stronger than Goku SSJ4?

From HermsThe truth is, Beerus prevented the universe's destruction by "nullifying" all the energy present, which required using 100% of his power.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
I'm using what Beerus said...Vegeta made him use 10% of his power, and Vegeta there would have been about as strong as Goku SSJ4. If you can counter it with an argument, thatd be better than just the blasts in super were flashier than the ones in GT.Saiyan007 wrote:From HermsThe truth is, Beerus prevented the universe's destruction by "nullifying" all the energy present, which required using 100% of his power.
I'm sure Gogeta SSJ4 could have torn the fabric of space-time too. Maybe we should do a poll.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
According to the summary Beerus and Goku are now using 100% of their power. So both were holding back this whole time, but the bigger revelation is Goku isn't just 6/10 of Beerus. So either Beerus is bullshitting and says this post battle like in the movie, or Goku is buffed to be closer to Beerus' level this time around. Whis could be potentially weaker than them both, but I think he's bullshitting for sure. I still think Whis will end up being stronger than both of them.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

I think it's just Toei-isms. They'll probably reveal the 70% line and that Whis is stronger in the end. Whis > Beerus > Goku is already something too known amidst the fanbase to change it all up.dbzfan7 wrote:According to the summary Beerus and Goku are now using 100% of their power. There's still time to reveal all this so I don't consider it fact or concrete just yet.Doctor. wrote:I think it's just Toei-isms. Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
It would mess it up big time if Goku was too close to Beerus.
The point was supposed to be that Beerus was much stronger. He even said that the SSJG was a disappointment in the movie. Then in RoF even after training it was made clear that Beerus was still a lot stronger than either because even if Goku and Vegeta fought together they'd only be Beerus' equal.
The two were supposed to have grown stronger with this SSGSS, Golden Frieza was initially stronger but Toriyama said that he'd never be a match for Beerus.
It would change to much if that gap wasn't there.

Well....shit. Guess Beerus is a universe buster after all..with SSG Goku coming in pretty close, making him a casual multi-galaxy buster.Saiyan007 wrote:From HermsThe truth is, Beerus prevented the universe's destruction by "nullifying" all the energy present, which required using 100% of his power.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Reading the summary that Herms have says that Beerus was using 100%...I don't see how they could go ahead and do that. Two movies and a couple statements from Toriyama were it was made abundantly clear that Beerus was far stronger than Goku and now they're making them relatively even?
I dunno about that.
Also it looks like even though Goku has the SSJG power he isn't actually a God. Whatever that means.

Going purely by feats I guess Saiyan Saga Vegeta one shots SSJ3 Goku since his planet shaking power up is far more impressive than the latter'sSaiyan007 wrote:wutDragonHermit wrote:If Beerus used 10% of his power against pissed Vegeta SSJ2, and Vegeta at that point was about the strength of Goku SSJ4, is it safe to say Goku SSJG is 10x stronger than Goku SSJ4?

I'm not saying using feats is stupid, I'm just saying using feats as the sole example of why one guy is stronger than another is dumb.

Not quite, Vegetas rage boost could've surpassed SSJ4 Goku by a lot. The other thing is Vegeta isn't equal to 10% of Beerus since he couldn't even scratch him in the slightest.DragonHermit wrote:If Beerus used 10% of his power against pissed Vegeta SSJ2, and Vegeta at that point was about the strength of Goku SSJ4, is it safe to say Goku SSJG is 10x stronger than Goku SSJ4?

This isn't quite right. Gokus SSJ3 transformation did actually shake the planet as stated by Ten, but for Vegetas saiyan arc power up Goku just said it's 'like' the planet is trembling. Vegetas power up did effect the area he and Goku were in more than the SSJ3 transformation effected the area Goku and Boo were in.ekrolo2 wrote:Going purely by feats I guess Saiyan Saga Vegeta one shots SSJ3 Goku since his planet shaking power up is far more impressive than the latter'sSaiyan007 wrote:wutDragonHermit wrote:If Beerus used 10% of his power against pissed Vegeta SSJ2, and Vegeta at that point was about the strength of Goku SSJ4, is it safe to say Goku SSJG is 10x stronger than Goku SSJ4?
