Resurrection F Box Office - $64.8 million Worldwide

Box Mojo updated the foreign gross and as of the 16th it's made $53.73 million overseas.

In between the 8th-16th it made $907,000 of which at least $775,000 of that was Italy, the remainder could be from Belgium or France or more from Italy, I'm not sure.

It does make the worldwide gross $62.13 million though and next up is the UK.

It is a shame, not just for the movie where it could have made a few million but for all the fans over there who would have likely have wanted to see it on the big screen too. I'd have thought out of all the countries in Europe, France would have been the one to get a proper showing being how successful other anime movies have been over there.

I'm not sure if it's been announced for any other country recently, UK, Spain and South Korea is all I know of.

Yeah, and if I remember correctly, the combined dbz movies 12 and 13 that were shown years ago, had close to a million fans going to cinéma to watch them... A million tickets sold... Or cloes to that. I'm only taking this from memory though, so don't shoot me if it's wrong.

Movie releases in UK tomorrow and then South Korea the day after that. No idea what to expect in terms of gross but I'd be surprised if they combined to over a million.

I never figured that the series was all that popular in UK so we'll see.

Well the fact that Manga are keep on adding screens makes me think it is quite popular, originally it was only supposed to Empire/Showcase cinemas but now they extended to Odeon and picturehouse cinemas, not only that but they have increased the number of the showings at most cinema's so looking good

We have the opening day data for Resurrection F in South Korea and when compared to Battle of Gods it doesn't seem to have opened as strong.

Battle of Gods made $27,370 opening day and $32,045 with late night showings/previews with an attendance of 5,525 across 209 screens.

Resurrection F made $10,466 opening day and $19,872 with late night showings/previews with an attendance of 3,376 across 56 screens.

So yeah it's less but considering the huge decrease in theatres it could have been much worse. It'll pick up on the Saturday and Sunday. BoG went on to make $248,000 in South Korea so maybe this will do $200k or so.

Maybe between UK, Korea and Spain it'll get to $63 million and there's no other countries announced after those so that's probably going to be it.

Movie has made $111,000 in South Korea by Sunday. Battle of Gods made $191,000 by the same point but it had over 3 times as many theatres. Perhaps the last one didn't do as well as they expected so they scaled it back.

Might find out how it did in UK either today or tomorrow.

If you adjuste 2009's ticket sales with 2015 dollar then DBE made $10,940,600. ROF would need another two more million to out gross DBE domestically.

That would put it at $62.51 million worldwide. With Spain seemingly the only country left to go it might finish at around $63 million unless it comes out somewhere else.

Not bad at all. I was hoping for something in the more 300,000 - 400,000 region, but given the amount of screens, lack of advertisement and how niche DBZ and anime as a whole is in the UK, those are some respectable numbers.

I contributed £12.50 of that total.

Well I know it's playing today and on the 8th in some locations. I'm not sure how many exactly but it should push the total a bit higher. It has a good theatre average though so they will likely put it in more theatres next time like they did in US.

In Spain the movie had a opening weekend of €158,300 which is $170,000 and it did that in 94 theatres.

In comparison BoG opened to €166,600 which was $227,000 and that was made across 55 theatres.

So not as good again. RoF made a lot more in most countries but the last couple countries like this and Korea the opposite was true, not sure why but it doesn't really matter at this point.

Don't think there's anymore countries listed to have the movie in theatres so this is probably the last one now so it'll look to finish around $63 million when all is said and done.

I have the feeling that in the long run, the box office results for FNF in Spain will be better than those of BOG.

Besides, Alfa Pictures was pretty happy with the results of the first weekend, being only behind Spectre in most cinemas. With BOG, I remember them being way disappointed and said harsh words about the poor audience (especially bashing the audience in Euskadi, where they had a dubbed version of the film like they have now).
