Dragon Ball and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The chemistry between the Dragon Ball gang and the Joestar family would be amazing.

Kamen Rider Decade and Dragon Ball Super. Diend steals the Super Dragon Balls just to troll everyone at the end.

Dragon Ball and Toriko is a great option. Toriko's world would literally be Heaven for him, given it's a world with every possible training environment possible with countless powerful monsters that he can then enjoy as food far better than any he's ever known.
Even with his God form, the Eight Kings, Ichiryu, Jirou, and Midara, there's some insanely powerful forces in the world (especially so in Gourmet World).
But of course, half the fun would be to see Goku in tears of joy as he samples the finest of cooking. Oh lord, if they gave Goku Gourmet Cells, existence would probably be over by the time he was finished eating his way across the planet.
Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya crossing over would be great. Godku fighting Seiya in his Pegasus God Cloth would be fun:

Yea they seam to be attracted to that. lol. I wish Super had DxD's animation. it's colored digitally, but the colors look like hand drawn animation's colors.
Kind of curious about that cross-over fic. Sounds like a good read. Some thing worth putting online IMO.
Now imagine this...an anime OVA special where we get Master Roshi+Jiraiya+Issei+3 other anime perverts(can't think of any ... Yusuke Uremeshi?). They hold hands and pull all their energy in to Roshi to create A SUPER PERVERT GOD! :3

I would like a crossover between Dragon Ball Z and Marvel's Avengers, and also let Son Goku join the Avengers too.

We already have that: its called much of the beginning of Dragon Ball Super. *rimshot*Lunatic Fringe wrote:It would have to be the Dragon Ball characters in a slice of life setting that doesn't revolve around fighting.
Seriously though, in all honesty, I can't think of many things more monumentally unbefitting or un-DB. I'll never understand the fixation that some fans have with this concept. It'd be like having a Friday the 13th movie where Jason never kills anyone. Or, more directly and comperably, a Shaw Bros. or Golden Harvest martial arts flick where no one ever once throws a single punch or kick at any point.
I mean sure, you COULD try those things, but why WOULD you? Who the hell would want that? It'd be the epitome of pointless.
And besides, once again DB Super, in its beginning stages anyway (I gave up on it fairly early on: I'll probably try to jump back into it at some point later on maybe), already effectively does this more or less, so we already know exactly how this idea would go down: as unbearably goddamned boring.
I'm the farthest thing in the world from the biggest Kenshin fan (nothing but all the love in the world for Trust & Betrayal though), but even I gotta admit that that's pretty damned cute. I'd be down.Gyt Kaliba wrote:I remember someone once making a joke about how hilarious it'd be to see the gang from Rurouni Kenshin trying to deal with Yajirobe. I thought it was a clever idea then, and I still think it'd be something I'd pay good money to see.![]()
I'll try to make this the last time I open up this chestnut in another thread here for awhile, as I don't want to turn into the resident Wuxia-Nazi here (sincerest appologies if its already too late for that) but the obvious one for me is... duh... DB and another Chinese martial arts fantasy series.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Other than that...it's really hard for me to say, since there's so few things that have the same kind of feel as Dragon Ball, so at best, most things I also like a ton wouldn't really fit - outside of if they did some kind of five minute gag thing or something. Which would still be fine, I guess, but if we ever got another crossover with Dragon Ball, I'd want it to be something more...substantial...than what previous ones have given us.
It really is a damned tragic shame and a HUGE waste that this (insanely vast and large) genre is so stupidly unknown to Western DB fandom today. People have NO idea how spot-on perfect it'd be for Goku crossing paths with Linghu Chong from The Smiling Proud Wanderer. THERE'S your rough Goku analogue right there.
Freeza's army having it out with the Sun Moon Holy Cult would also be a riot (especially culminating with Freeza himself butting heads with Bubai). Whose underlings would be more terrified of being killed by their twisted, insane master for their failure? Freeza usually just vaporizes them (though maybe occasionally he might impale someone with his finger beam or just bash someone's skull in with a harsh blow), Bubai on the other hand is pretty damned sadistic and methodical with those poisons that he/she keeps everyone in line with.
Even well outside of SPW, who wouldn't wanna see Kuririn come across any given Gordon Liu Shaolin monk character? Or have Tao Pai Pai gaze into the mirror that is Hwang Jang Lee? The possibilities are, quite literally, endless.
At some point I'm gonna have to resign myself to the fact that this completely inexplicable notion is never going anywhere ever, but seriously: One Piece and DB have almost NOTHING in common. Whatsoever. One's a martial arts fantasy series and a wonky pastiche on Chinese kung fu folklore (with sci fi elements eventually mixed in for seasoning), the other is a fucking nauseating and WAY overly long sappy Hallmark commercial consisting principally of characters circle-jerking one another over how awesome friendship is.Gyt Kaliba wrote:That said though, an obvious answer is One Piece, as it's probably the series that comes the closest to capturing a similar feeling as Dragon Ball.
Seriously, the Z Warriors and Straw Hats have just about NOTHING whatsoever in common as characters on almost ANY level. The former bond over beating one another senseless, the latter bond over continually reiterating to one another "I WUB WU SCHNOOKUMS, YOU'RE MY BESTEST BESTEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!" at just about any and every given opportunity until the audience is forced to wonder what kind of WAY overly strong anti-depressants Oda is on when he writes this shit.
DB fandom so strongly and arbitrarily equating the two is one of the biggest mass-level non-sequiturs I've ever come across. DB mixes its whimsy with plenty of overwhelming amounts of face-smooshing kung fu action. OP meanwhile needs to come labeled with a diabetes warning as a public safety precaution.
This is Dragon Ball's rough approximation.
And this, more or less effectively, is One Piece's.
The cross-pollination of these two COMPLETELY and utterly randomly disparate entities at so deep and intrinsically inseparable a level all across fandom is something I'll go to my grave NEVER grasping even remotely.
I keep telling myself that someday, eventually, I'll give OP another crack (if only JUST to try and piece together the possitively baffling mystery of where this fandom overlap comes from), until I remember how well that went down the last time I did. Most attempts of me taking on OP typically end up culminating with me fighting back the strong, overpowering urge to slip into a nice warm bath and open up both veins.
Not trying to be a prick or anything sorry, but One Piece is just insufferable.

(One Piece's default setting.)
YYH's a tad less flighty and a hair bit more weighty than DB (relatively speaking that is: its still ultimately a Shonen series for Japanese kids when all's said and done, plus its not like YYH doesn't have MORE than its fair share of mythical whimsy) but other than that? They'd go together more than just fine I'd say. Vegeta and Hiei being the obvious crossover that most everyone would principally tune in for natch.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Yu Yu Hakusho would be pretty neat as well, but I'm not entirely sure as to how it would work.
I'd likewise be down for that experiment. That would require a bit more finagling to work certainly, but I'd DAMN sure take JoJo over frigging One Piece any given day.Gyt Kaliba wrote:The tones would clash pretty badly probably, not to mention the art, but I'd be interested in seeing something with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure as well - just seeing DB characters, who are so used to fighting themselves, deal with people who's primary fighting involves Stands with some insanely over-the-top powers, would be an interesting experience.

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Re: Crossovers you want to see happen
I don't think Dragon Ball and Yuu Yuu Hakusho go together very well. Toriyama is an aimless writer while Togashi tends to try to at least impart some sort of theme into his works. The tale of Toguro and Genkai is something Dragon Ball would never dare approach on any sort of serious level. While the cartoon does have its fair share of humorous moments, Yuu Yuu Hakusho isn't quite the whimsical, otherwise aloof series that Dragon Ball is. Just as One Piece and Dragon Ball don't make for a good match I don't think Yuu Yuu Hakusho and Dragon Ball would. That said, I imagine someone like Kurama would be a lot more indulging of Gokuu's shenanigans than any member of the Straw Hat Pirates, though.
Really, I think the only good crossover between Dragon Ball and One Piece would be Luffy trying to kill Gokuu for his Gokuu-isms only for Gokuu to not really care.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians, would lead to some interesting character contrast.

Re: Crossovers you want to see happen
Well, obviously no two series are the same. Sure, Yu Yu Hakusho is a little more intellectually oriented than Dragon Ball is while One Piece is just plain mawkish a lot of the time, but I don't see why this would make a potential crossover with either one inherently unworkable (and in fact it's already happened in both anime and manga form with OP).

Re: Crossovers you want to see happen
I agree that we wouldn't really need an entire series of nothing but fun adventures with the gang (well, not a substantial series - an ongoing omake-style thing in one of the newer Jump magazines might be fun though), but I don't really see how enjoying such stories is such a bad thing either. There's a reason the infamous driving filler episode is so beloved - there's just something fun to a lot of people, myself included, about seeing these characters in situations we haven't seen them in before, or situations that are really far outside of their comfort zone.Kunzait_83 wrote:Seriously though, in all honesty, I can't think of many things more monumentally unbefitting or un-DB. Sure, I enjoy seeing Vegeta get his butt handed to him as much as the next guy. But putting him in awkward social situations like we had in the second episode of Super? That's what I want to see more of.
Don't get me wrong, One Piece is far from perfect. But insufferable? Eh...we'd have to agree to disagree there, I'd say. While OP can certainly go way overboard in the feels department than DB does, at the very least it does try to add in some sort of feeling between characters more often than the prior does. And as for why the two series have such a crossover in fans, I think it's because the two series are more alike than you might care to admit. It's very clear that Oda has taken what he loved about Dragon Ball as a kid and run with it. The character types between the two series are somewhat similar at times, at least to the point that it's pretty easy to see these characters interacting with each other on screen in the material we have gotten. At some point I'm gonna have to resign myself to the fact that this completely inexplicable notion is never going anywhere ever, but seriously: One Piece and DB have almost NOTHING in common. Honestly, I'd say the real problem One Piece has isn't anywhere near 'constant crying' or anything, it's the fact that it's too tightly woven together for it's own good. The series is over 800 chapters long now and nowhere near done, and yet a random background character in a panel on page 1 could actually turn out to be of major, major importance somewhere down the line. My memory's not that insanely good, Oda, cut me a break and don't expect me to remember who random guy A from over ten years ago is if they should pop up again in the story.

So I thought up another one and it would have been perfectly viable since it technically already happened. I would have loved it if Roshi came to the battle against Freeza's army, riding on the back of Gamera. Cause really...Baby Gamera has probably grown a lot since Dragon Ball!
But really it'd be super cool to have the big turtle slapping Freeza soldiers down and thrashing Freeza's ship about.
