Sorbet's original design looks a bit like Kid Boo.

Amazon has a new release date for UK's DBZRF home release, January 25th 2016. Waiting on confirmation from Jerome/Manga, they said they'll announce the new street date next week.

Huh. Did anyone else notice the 'Special Thanks' to Jealkb towards the end of the credits? I wonder what it was for.

January 25th....that damn long? I thought it'd be pushed back to November or something not to the end of January. Thatd be very disappointing if true.

Hey does anyone know where I can get a cheaper copy of the CE for RoF?

I live in Canada.

Going to the Funimation site for the Regular blu ray:

And for the CE"

The pricing is ridiculously high. For Americans $50 (USD)+ orders get free shipping. Sadly, that is not the case for Canadians ordering from Funimation. Even so, the shipping is ludicrously high.

In both cases being over $ 20 (CAD) ~ $15.45 (USD)

If someone knows anything please PM me.

I appreciate any help.

Peace.

Just a matter of hours/days, until I finally have the chance to see this movie. About damn time! :D

It's hard to believe some of these pages are a storyboard; they're so unbelievably detailed, at times. It's almost like the pre-ink stage of a manga. Though strangely, much of the 1000-warrior fight is barely detailed, at all -- lots of blank faces and unidentifiable forms.

Here's some of the more interesting pages -- either nicely drawn, or just demonstrating differences between the sketch and the film.
That's pretty interesting. Tien has his regular Cell saga outfit in those pics instead of the outfit he ended with. Also I really like Sorbet's old design. I think I like it better than the final. It goes to show that even with the "meh" God form designs, Toriyama can still make some cool looking designs. Also is that big guy Tagoma? He's drastically different too

Also, FB has gone crazy with this shot regarding the animation.

Brilliant movie, only just watched it yesterday, the fight scenes are incredible, if you're used to the anime it usually only shows brief action packed scenes before being interrupted by a talking scene or something, but the action in this movie is constant And doesn't get boring. I can only imagine how awesome it'd be if the series was redone like this.

Having finally seen it, I think the movie overall is okay, I guess... The pacing is too rushed, it barely leaves room for the characters to breathe. Unlike BoG, I guess Super will have an advantage when this arc is adapted.

I have to say though, the animation and framing is great. It does provide some great wallpapers.

Re-watched it as well just to make sure I wasn't being too harsh on it before. The animation and choreography remains the movies biggest strength with the Z-fighters vs the army, Goku smacking dozens of Freeza's blasts, then zig zagging around them later before one inch punching it being some of my favorite action bits of the newer material. The music is also fairly good with "Struggle to Death with Golden Freeza" one of my favorite Sumitomo tracks.

The substance is where it really fails a lot. Goku and Vegeta's purported flaws either don't make sense or were resolved as early as one movie ago. Them not being able to work together and actively pretending like they can't is another one resolved by the Buu Saga and I loathe Vegeta's personality in this. Freeza remains a complete self parody of himself, training hard enough to get more power but not enough to see his revenge through, the way the act in his presence pretty blatantly confirms how worthless he is power up or no as a threat in the eyes of the people making the movie and to the characters in-universe.

Vegeta's beat down isn't impressive in the least unless you're one of those guys who's wanking material is Gohan's boring ass curb stomp of Cell. Vegeta beating a Freeza at his peak or agreeing to work with Goku would've been a lot better. The ending also kills it with Goku of all people asking Vegeta if he wants to work together more often to prevent the Earth from getting blown up but they both just laugh it off as if its impossible and it'll never happen (it already has you stupid mother-).

So yeah, its a nice looking movie with some good animation and action set pieces but completely fails at everything else. Its easily the most pointless "story" in the entire franchises main continuity and really makes me worried for what Toriyama has in store for U6, hopefully either Super fixes this or Toriyama didn't blow his load with BoG and is just phoning it in.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Thanks to the power of nowadays technology, I finally had the chance to see this movie. And like I thought, I loved it!! Oh man, what a trip! :D :D

In essence, this was the kind of movie I was expecting Battle of Gods to be. A old school Toei Movie with Toriyama special touch.

What I liked:

- The serious tone and dark atmosphere. Toei nailed it.
- Goku/Vegeta training under Whis. Its the first time Vegeta trains under someone. And Goku always trained with the best, thats why he's the best. Those two as students under
the same master is great. Takes me back to when Goku/ Krillin trained under Roshi.
- Beerus/Whis. Do I need to say more?! They became my favourite duo and I just wish Champa / Whis waifu can hold a candle to these two.
- Earthlings and Namekians on the frontlines kicking some ass. This would never happen without Toriyama. Pros to him.
- The fights.
- Animation and character models (except Gohan). Blows BOG out the water. Thanks Toei.
- Character interactions. Those that only God Toriyama can genuinely pull off: Piccolo/baby Pan, Krillin/C18. Jaco/Bulma, Beerus/Whis.etc...
- Super Saiyan God. I must confess that in the beginning I got really pissed for having another color for saiyans transformation. But the form grew up on me and now I like it.
Knowing about the fire concept behind it helped too.
- Goku/Bruce Lee One inch punch.
- Maximum The Hormone - F Song and Momoiro Clover - Pledge of Z.

Also a shot out to the entire cast for the amazing perfomances. Especially Ryūsei Nakao, since its been so long and he's still a monster!

Neutral:

- Goten/trunks absence. I don't care. I'm tired of these two don't growing up. But it would be gold to see Freeza reaction to these two though.
- Jaco. I don't care about this guy.
- Golden Freeza. Just like SSG, I got pissed by the color scheme. After SG turn out to be a recolor, I didn't have any hope for Fr3eza new form and even so, they still
disappointed me. Purple and Gold just don't match to me. Its interesting because its the exact opposite of Meta-Coola color scheme, but that's it. I don't hate it as much as i did back then when it was revealed. Now, I just don't care.
- CGI scenes aren't as bad as I thought. BOG was much worse.
- Sorbet one shots Goku. I don't know what I'm supposed to feel here.

What I didn't like:

- Not having a new villain. I love Freeza. He's my all time favourite bad guy, But I need new bad guys that are a true threat to our heroes.
- Not having a explanation for Freeza power up. I want to know what kind of training he did. besides he being an OP Mutant.
- Pilaf Gang. Just die.
- Yamcha bullying. One of the things that pissed more more in this movie. Yamcha finally had the change to kick some ass and give the middle finger to the haters, and Toriyama
blew it. Bring Roshi to the frontlines that can't even fly, and leave Yamcha behind?! What a dick move. Hope Toei fixes this on Super.
- Gohan's character model. He's the only one that looks off. Where did all his muscles go?! He had them one year before in BoG...
- Censorship (When Sorbet one shots Goku, When Freeza stomps him afterwards...).
- The overall soundtrack. Sumitomo did a much better job in BOG. There were many silent moments too, which I hate. I miss Kikuchi.
- Vegeta vs Freeza fight couldn't be any shorter.
- The ending. So cliche and unlike BOG, its no different from the other 13 DBZ Movies. At least, Toriyama could let vegeta get the kill.
- The beginning (until Freeza arrives on earth) felt a little rushed. But Super will take care of that.

Top 5 favourite parts:

1) Goku/Bruce Lee One inch punch.
2) Krillin/C18 scene.
3) Piccolo rocking baby Pan's cradle.
4) SSG Vegeta vs Golden Freeza.
5) SSG Goku Vs Golden Freeza.

Despiste everything, I loved the movie and its easily in my top 5, which right now looks like this:

1) Bojack Unbound
2) Revival of F
3) Battle of Gods
4) Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan
5) Super Adroid 13

(Of course I'm not couting with Bardock - The Father of Goku and History of Trunks OVAs. Those mastepieces are too OP).

Next time, keep all the great things and give me a new villain and a great ending like BOG. Then I'm set.

Funny Trivia: I already had written all of this before watching the movie.

Near the end of the film, Whis turned back three minutes to undo Earth's destruction. Can't Goku and co. go to New Namek to summon Polunga to wish Earth back and lives that were killed by Freeza? If Whis never turned back three minutes and Earth is still destroyed, you decide.

Yeah, the new cool thing is to pause while trying to catch "bad" art during action sequences. Then zooming in, which is even more ridiculous, as the scene is not supposed to be seen that way. Those people have no idea what is an inbetween, or that faces look undetailed when characters are in the background or the drawing is far from the screen, in any anime.

This is an actual example of a bad shot in an anime movie:
It's not an action sequence, not a freeze frame, no zoom..nothing. It is exactly how it looks here. Oh but it was done by Madhouse, so who cares...

Since there's mentions of the home release in this thread I thought this would be the best place to ask this but, does anyone know when RightStuf usually ships pre orders? Cause I want to be able to know when my pre order of Resurrection F on Blu Ray will ship.
