I thought that the whole thing being up up on Ebay for $80 was extreme since they'd be like $10 each (on Zstore they were $13 before getting taken off). BUT you have to realize, they're not making those anymore. If you want to find any FUNimation DBZ DVDs, good luck. Only on Ebay and Amazon. And I've got news for you, you're not finding them for cheap either. I've seen the Bardock movie special have be $60 at the lowest on Amazon and USED. I figure in 5 years, the FUNimation DVDs will be worth you a pretty penny, especially since you can't get them from FUNimation themselves. They have them listed on places like Bestbuy.com and stuff, but they'll be put on backorder for 3 months until they cancel your order. I tried with the Cell Games DVDs. Then I just bought the damn thing for $200 on Ebay. Imagine, $200 for 9 DVDs. That's even more than what it is buying them one at a time.

I wanted to bid on both of them myself, but...not really the funds right now, you know? It seems from this thread that a lot of people had the same problem, which may explain the lack of bids.

Thanks! And yeah, I know what you mean Herms. I'm actually pretty tight on money myself right now, but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. Being a purist is expensive. :x

Maybe a bit, but remember the only place you can buy them in Norway is Outland, where they're about 40$ each. 20$ is close to 100 NOK, which isn't that bad a price for a used DVD, and when selling to Norwegians, we obviously operate with Norwegian prices.

(plus I paid 50$ each for dub-only DVDs with 3 episodes back in the day when no one else in the country had heard of the series)

There are actually a couple sets up at Amazon Japan for about 750$ right now, which isn't that bad a price. Hm, tempting.

Better make sure they're in great condition.

I see sets on Amazon Japan all the time, but unless you live in Japan, they won't ship them to you. :(

Looks like no one bough them, despite their fair price. Maybe one can message the seller for an even lower price!

I think that t**t guy is a bidspammer, I've seen him jack up the price on a few others. Forgive me if that's one of you.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Yeah, I'm the one bidding on that one now.

Well, it's up to 670$ now. How much are you willing to give up? :]

More than that. My first bid is always just a failsafe.

So, um, am I competing against someone here for the box?

Ebay replaces your name with random letters and asterisks if you're bidding on expensive items, so I showed up as t**t while you were s**n or something. My real account name is adamantbmage.
So yes, I did win.
