You may've, though if you did, I'm not sure if I have it anymore. You may have to PM me that info-stuff again.

Not a whole lot, but sometimes.

Yeah, maybe we should keep our talkage between PMing and chatting.

This is a surprise. If that's grammatically correct, then it sounds very weird-- to me, at least-- and I'm a little scared.
~Da Lemmy
No, I meant nobody should be saying "it was that we were" when they just mean "we were."
Instead of "In Thanksgiving 200X, it was that we were waiting for...", it should just read "In Thanksgiving 200X, we were waiting for...".
On-topic: I wonder if the streaming means it won't get a DVD release in Japan.

Why do people keep thinking this? I mean, we're in the age where bands are starting to release their music online before they release the CD version. It's not like people aren't going to buy the DVD just because it was shown online.

Yeah, if that was the case then DB/Z/GT wouldn't have gotten a release also, because it was shown on TV.

I still think they'll do a DVD release, because I don't think they'll pass up the chance to make a little money. Especially considering no one had to pay to go see it live in Japan and no one world-wide will have to pay to watch it online, they've made absolutely nothing off of this special so far. Though I'm sure this whole thing has drastically increased merchandise sales, making up for any of these losses.
I was also thinking, what if we don't get a DVD release, but rather a Blu-ray release? I mean, it was animated digitally, so it is probably 1080p. Then I'd have to buy a Blu-ray player.

Was it animated digitally? I thought the character sheets indicated traditional cel animation.
Besides, I really don't think there is yet to be ANY video release that is Blu-Ray exclusive.

Well, I would assume it was animated digitally, as with every other new anime these days. As far as Blu-ray goes, I guess I said that wrong. I really meant more along the lines of we might get a Blu-ray release along with the DVD release. I guess it really doesn't matter that much to me, as long as there is a proper release.

Nor will there be for a very long time, if ever.

For people who follow toku, Engine Sentai Go-Onger and Kamen Rider Kiva had online streaming episodes to work with the movies, and they're being released on DVD. Going off that, it's pretty safe to bet it'll be the same with this, since they're all Toei.

Wonderful news to hear in that it hopefully applies to us with this special as well. :3

I've traveled into the distant future thanks to a cardboard box and some mind-blowing drugs, so fuck y'all.
Hm. Okay, maybe that was going a little too far. Dayspring wins.

I saw a documentary on AnimeNewsNetwork a while ago where a Toei-representative said that they stopped using cels alltogether somewhere around year 2000. (Or 2002, I'm not sure) Anyway, they don't use cels anymore, so this should be digitally animated. But honestly, the only difference is really that digital drawings are easier to work with, so the style could very well be completely identical to what we saw in the TV-series.

You mean these:
ANN: Inside Toei Animation (Part 1) and
ANN: Inside Toei Animation (Part 2). They do say they first used digital animation in 1998, but it was around the year 2000 when they switched over to digital animation entirely.

I didn't know you had to download a browser for it, did someone mention that on here? Just in case, you've got to download their browser to watch it.

Has anyone read any of their online manga? You have to download some kind of browser for that, too. And you can't save the images or use the print screen button, so I'm assuming the anime browser will try to prevent you from saving the video or taking screencaps.

I am over 90.00% sure that there will be some kind of footage leaked taken with a camera phone or some kind of digital recorder.
